I think the s5 is better than the s4 because you have more of a margin as far as electricity prices go.  The s5 efficiency just can't be beat.  Also consider that you can purchase hash from hasnest for s3, 4, and 5 (maybe 2, are they still doing 2?).  You can hold it for as long or short a time as you want, and you can sell it back when you are done.  Their market place has no transaction fees.  Or you can buy an s4/5 and have them run it for you in their facility.  When you want you can have it shipped to you.  Check it out, this is my favorite way to buy hash.  Depending on your electricity costs it might make sense for you.

thanks for the advice guys. i have looked into the s5 from bitmain. and it does look like a really good system. but what are your thought on like the s4?

my reason is i have a 4yr old daughter and she just loves to get her little hands into everything. and im worried with a machine like the s5 having to have a external psu jumpered to run and the open case that shes going to get her hands in there and break something.

were as like the s4 comes with a built in psu and theres no chance of her getting her hands or anything else into it.

im currently use some asic scrypt machines but there only running at 26mh/s. and thats why i was thinking of getting into the sha256 machines. more hashrate for pretty much the same power im currently using with both my machines running.

Either one I have had good luck with.   The s4 does keep it enclosed more if your thinking of a child's safety.

The S5 is more energy efficient though.   They also have the S4+ now if you have a 210/220 wire.

Avoid Avalon way over priced and inefficient compared to S5s.

I do agree they are high and at a premium.  You can actually underclock and get better efficiency then S5 if I remember right.

But with price S5 does sell a ton more.

hello. i have been looking around for some companies in usa or canada that are still selling mining machines. but i have not been having much luck. so i figured i would check with everyone here if they know a good company that is still selling machines. and what there web address is.

As far as US or Canada it would be resellers.  Most gear is made in China.   There are a few companies that break this though and have made other places their home.

But as far as "most current gen". There is S5 and Avalon 4.1 both are made in china and shipped from there.   And there is SP20 gear it is no longer being made new so it comes from secondary markets all over.

As far as price S5 most likely will be lowest cost, but you will be shipping from China to get direct from Bitmain.  Keep in mind if you don't buy direct you will not get the 90 day warranty.
