Hey all another question on this.

Can someone explain to me the pros vs cons of using quick vs precise?  I did 2 test transactions earlier with litecoin and another coin with precise and i had no issue with sending btc from my electrum to it, then receiving the coin.

As i'm playing around with it again, why does it seem like if you choose quick, you receive more litecoin as oppose to choosing precise?  My thoughts were if you choose quick, wouldn't that mean you get a worst rate?

Because right now it shows with the quick option... 1 btc = 49.65 ltc

With the precise option... 1 btc = 49.46 ltc

So you are getting more ltc for your btc if you choose quick?  Can someone confirm this?  I had used precise earlier because i thought you get a better rate.  But it seems quick option gets you a better rate?

Hey guys have another question.

So i tried to do a test deposit like 0.005 btc for some litecoin.

When i tried to send from electrum, i get a message saying the fee is unusually high.  Its like 3.80 for this fee to send like 12 dollars worth of btc for some litecoin.  Im doing a tiny transfer first to test it out.

Can someone confirm that these are the fees?  When i moved the fee bar to the lowest on electrum, it says within 25 blocks, the fee is about 50 cents or so.  But when its with 5 blocks or the next block, it shows the fee as around 3.80.  Do most of you just send it with those fees?

How long would it take to receive the litecoin if you just send with the minimum fee?  The thing is im just sending about 12 dollars worth of btc.  And the fee is like 3.80 which to me is ridiculous.

Can someone answer my other questions and also this one?  How long does it take if you send with the minimum fee?  How long if you do the default fee set by electrum?

I like to mention also that the address shown in the receiving address in the Receive tab... i do not see this address on my addresses tab at all.

I have about 20 bitcoin addresses that are under the Change... Used like this

Change

Used

btc address
btc address 2
btc address 3

The bitcoin address in my receive tab is not there.  The first bitcoin address under the Used is there of course and has over 50 transactions etc.

So which is the bitcoin address i need to put in the bitcoin refund address tab?

Also since when you put the amount of btc you want for litecoin for example, they give you a specific bitcoin address to send to.  So wouldn't that mean when they receive it, they know which litecoin address to send to?  Thus they put the bitcoin refund address only if there is an issue?

Also does anyone know how long it takes for shapeshift to do a transfer?  Im going to do a test deposit with a few coins first... then do bigger amounts.

Thanks.

I'm going to do a transfer with shapeshift with my bitcoin for another coin.  It ask for my bitcoin receive address.

Whenever i receive bitcoin from a site, i always give 1 bitcoin address that i use.  It basically has over 50 transactions etc and i haven't had any issue receiving btc to this address in my electrum.

Just to make sure, i could use this bitcoin address right as the bitcoin receive address?

I ask this because on electrum, i notice when i clicked on the receive tab, theres another address there.

Do i need to use that one?  Or i could use the one i always used?

Hey guys, im going to use shapeshift to convert bitcoins to other coins like ETH, litecoin etc.

So first off when you do this, you always choose precise as oppose to quick right?  i assume this is because you get a much better rate this way?  I assume quick means the transaction will be very fast but it means you get a bit less litecoin for example?  Anyone knows about how much less you get?  For example, $1000 worth of btc would get you how much litecoin if you choose precise?  What about quick?  When i click on precise, it does show you the amount of ltc you receive so thats the number right?

How long does it actually take before you receive the litecoin?  I assume the btc is deducted pretty quickly from your btc wallet right?

It ask to type deposit amount and then it shows the receive amount.  It also shows deposit max.  So i assume most ppl here test this out first by doing like 0.0001 btc to make sure it works right?  Then do they do bigger amounts?  The max seems to be close to 1btc.  Also when you do close the max, when is the next time you can do another conversion?   Thus you do 0.90 btc for x amount of litecoin.  How long until you do the next 0.90 btc for litecoin?  Also how long does a trasnaction take place if you do close to the max?  Does it take longer/slower than smaller amounts?

I see it ask you to type your litecoin address and your bitcoin refund address.  Obviously litecoin address is where you want your ltc sent to.  For your bitcoin refund address, is that your bitcoin receive address?  The thing is i use electrum for bitcoin wallet and i have maybe 10 different addresses where my btc is stored.  I only use 1 bitcoin receiving address but when i receive btc, it goes to different addresses scattered.  So can someone tell me what i put here?  I assume the receiving address i use is what is necessary?  The thing is they would know i sent btc from my electrum right when i mention my bitcoin refund address which i assume is my receiving address?

I just want to make sure i get this correctly but of course i will do tiny amount first.
