Can someone here explain the quick vs precise?  When you first test it out such as putting an amount of btc for an altcoin, it seems to give you more altcoin for you btc if you use quick.  But because btc takes so long now to send, that means if you want to lock it in at the price, you should do precise or not?  Because when you do quick, it depends how quickly the transaction goes through right?  So back then when btc wasn't so slow, you do quick but now precise?  However why did quick always give a bit more than precise?

BTC is saturated, and the same goes to ethereum.. In wich network can we trust right now to send fast payments? None of them is working smoothly right now.

...

Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin work pretty good compared to BTC and ETH at the moment.
However, it is questionable to support BCH when some of their supporters are responsible
for a huge majority of the spam transaction on the BTC mainchain.

The surprise launch of Bitcoin Cash trading at Coinbase was simply a good opportunity
for them to attack the main Bitcoin blockchain. Great news for Bitcoin Cash combined
with huge congestion of the mainchain, which destroys the BTC user experience.

Therefore I´d simply use Litecoin. However, even that is risky if you don´t trade out of it fast, because
LTC is also trading for very high rates that are probably not sustainable.

Before you send Eth (or whatever coin) check the pending transactions and what the current gas price is.  I've made the same mistake and sent to a precise Shapeshift trade, think I was using like 4.1 gwei/21k when the average was like 30.  Ooops.  Needless to say it didn't make it in 5 minutes before the time out.  They did refund my transaction, minus fees.

I've never had a transaction 'lost' with them, just keep in mind that if you aren't doing a precise transaction the market is moving while your coins are in route.  You may not want to be 8 hours late to the party so to speak.

I've sent ETH to convert to Bitcoin, and it's been stuck at "awaiting deposit" for the last few hours. I've used them before but for much smaller amounts. I normally send around $500 max but this time I've send around 1.5k to be converted into Bitcoin and this time it's taking forever to deposit when other times it's been instant.

They're not a scam but sometimes when the network is congested they can take a while.

As you can see on their site, they're saying that there may be delays of up to a few hours and you should have expected that as you initiated the trade. So just be patient, as long as you sent to the right address with the right instructions then there shouldn't be a problem whatsoever.

$1.5k is actually a small trade compared to the volume that they're handling on a daily basis. I've used them many times before without any issues. If your transaction is still not updated on the site, then go and ask support about it.

I really hope it's very saturated because my btc sent for xmr has 0 confirmations and is in limbo, tx id isn't even on the blockchain. It is sent however to the Changelly address I have used in the past. I hope it confirms and exchanges.

Both the Bitcoin/ETH network is currently congested, due to the recent price surge.

Around 12 hours? are you serious? A few days ago i exchanged PIVX > Ethereum and it took more than 15 hours to receive ethereum in my wallet.
Give it around 12 hours, and then contact their support.

You need one confirmation to make your transactions go through.

I believe that they wait for at least 1 confirmation before processing the order so it might just be the case of waiting for it to confirm if it hasn't already.

No they aren't since lots of people been using this site for quiet long time now and they are legit. Your exchange took so long because of congested network either both ways. Bitcoin and ETH do have lots of unconfirmed transaction so as expected it would really be delay but one things for sure it would really be credited soon as long you do already make the transactions. If the exchange have been completed but not credited into your account you can anytime email or contact their support. They are really responsive.

Notifications of shapeshift are not shown in the coinomi app. But their support works fast und fair. Only the fees are sometimes strange. I also wouldn't recommend this exchanger with trades of BTC.

Nope, shapeshift.io is a real exchange and legit one. Not because you are experiencing this "awaiting deposit" because of the network congestion you'll call them scam, no. The problem is there's a massive stuck withdrawals and deposits that you are not the only that is experiencing it. We can't blame them or any exchange for this problem. I have some deposits that are also stuck and I know what's the reason behind it.

Can you post your ETH tx id here so that we can check how many confirmation it have already got, if it is already confirmed than you should contact shapeshift support to process your exchange.

shapeshift is definitely not a scam as I have also used them for many exchanges before like many others.

Haven't you read what the Note in their website says before you do your conversion?

Both the Bitcoin/ETH network is currently congested, due to the recent price surge. Depending on your fee, is when it's likely to confirm. Give it around 12 hours, and then contact their support. I believe that they wait for at least 1 confirmation before processing the order so it might just be the case of waiting for it to confirm if it hasn't already.

Exactly. Both have been affected. Ethereum with the Cryptokitties viral. Of course it depends on the fee, however, I doubt that shapeshift.io uses high fees. I myself have transactions stuck for 3 days ago and all I can do its just to wait. I'm not sure with the 12 hours though, with the way the network is congested, I will say give it 24 hours before raising it to their support personnel.

I've used this service a couple times and it was totaly legit. Due to the recent Ethereum problems with cryptokitties there is a high chance that you should wait a bit (up to some hours) to get your ETH transaction confirmed. You can also check the domain of the website you are using, shapeshift had a plenty of phishing clones.
P.S. if you google about them you wmay find some reports about users being scammed for large amount of coins. Anyway if it is true your transaction is not high enough to expect any problems from shapeshift.

As far as I'm concern, they are trusted because I have used their services several times and I received my coins as advertisement. Actually I want to convert few coins as well, but when I did, I'm losing big amounts that why I didn't proceed with my transaction. As I have said, I doubt that shapeshift.io uses high fees in their transaction. All the OP can do is to wait and be patience.
