I have a huge ass poster with the Whitepaper sitting in my room and yet, to my shame, I have never read it entirely.

This helps. I may play it at night or when driving, it's something I'm pretty interested in - but I'm a quite lazy reader when it comes to books or very long documents unless it's very important to me Cheesy

I guess I have already learned quite a lot of the Whitepaper by experience and through research anyways. But will give it a go soon.

Not your keys, not your coins!
I'm not sure what the community consensus would be on this; but a rewrite of the Bitcoin whitepaper aimed at introducing complete beginners to the world of cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin might be helpful.
If there is a rewritten whitepaper of Bitcoin, then people will only know about it and will forget about the original one. Most of beginners will ignore the original version, that is not good for them in the long run in crypto.

And, if there is a version 2, there will be version 3, 4 and n, all of those versions will cause a very weird debate and whitepaper librabry for bitcoin (with the aspect of bitcoin decentralization). Community will have to spend time to debate for both consensus and rewritten whitepapers.

Mehn! I listened to the first and it felt so good. This is my first time listening to it. I haven't read through any, because I did not search for it. Thanks, OP, this makes it easier and it will help most people to answer questions that might arise, perhaps when trying to introduce Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general to newbies. With time, the information will be well disseminated to those who might be interesting in knowing about it. Information is very important and it gives power to those who already know.

I started reading the white paper once but it was pretty difficult for me at that time.

I think I'll try again with this audiobook. I've got some knowledge since the first try and I'm more of a auditory learner. Thank you for sharing!

Free Bitcoins Every Hour!
The original Satoshi whitepaper isn't that great in all honestly for those that are new to it.
I agree that reading the whitepaper without an explanation (read-only) will be a bit difficult to understand by newbies (new one). What they need is a simple and brief explanation about it. For newbies, long reading would be too boring, they need to understand it step by step. Many of them have no basic knowledge of crypto or Bitcoin. Even, some may be the first time to know this. Regarding some videos above, basically, it is better to explain it briefly in a simple way than reread what Satoshi has written (WP). IMO

For the record, this is the proposed amendments by Cobra:

https://github.com/bitcoin-dot-org/bitcoin.org/issues/1325

Personally, I like the audiobook version, it is very convenient to have a copy or at least go to that youtube videos if you wanted to get back and clear some thoughts about bitcoin itself and improved your understanding of Satoshi's creation.

the community is strongly against this. someone (Cobra, the owner of bitcoin.org and bitcointalk) made the proposal a couple of years ago and was met with the community's fury.
the thing is, bitcoin's white paper is meant as a short summary of the ideas that bitcoin introduces. it is not supposed to be educational or thorough. and since Satoshi Nakamoto created all the basic ideas, his paper should remain the only white paper there is to summaries what bitcoin is all about.

Maybe if it's not made to look like it is a rewrite of the bitcoin whitepaper, but an introduction of another version a lot of users would support the idea. The bitcoin whitepaper is a hallowed piece and proposing a rewrite of it may send a wrong message to people. naming it: Introducing an abridged, easier to understand version of the bitcoin whitepaper would sound better imo, I support this idea, it will be easily assimilated by newbies.

Although, audio books are usually great I'd agree. The original Satoshi whitepaper isn't that great in all honestly for those that are new to it. Its entertaining for a couple of times when its being read by a cryptocurrency nerd, but for beginners I wouldn't recommend it at all. Of course, its always going to be on the reading list just because its the first public whitepaper that was released, but it doesn't offer those that are new to Bitcoin any real value unless they already have some understanding of how cryptocurrencies work, and the concepts discussed in the whitepaper.

I'm not sure what the community consensus would be on this; but a rewrite of the Bitcoin whitepaper aimed at introducing complete beginners to the world of cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin might be helpful.

Audiobooks are definitely helpful when commuting, driving, or doing menial jobs, and you are bored while you are doing it. It's a multitasking activity that makes you feel more knowledgable and makes you feel that you are not bored at all because for me that's a big deal.

Thanks for sharing this Audiobooks, now I just have to download it in MP3. Lol

P.S. The Morgan Freeman sounds nothing like him, maybe for me.

I have shared this is our local community. But I thought that this is worth a share here in B&H, specially for beginners here, I'm sure majority of them haven't read the whitepaper when they join the market, I would suggest that everyone should at least read it t once in their lifetime and then supplement it with the following audiobooks below.

It is handy, when you are eating in the cafeteria, or taking public transportation. So instead of listening to music, maybe you can find listening to the the audiobook more appealing to past your time.
