Based on my experience, the military forces deal with difficult situations in the country. They have very powerful moves that are employed during combat. Also if the police or the local administration cannot deal with a major disturbance the army under the leadership of the Executive Magistrate will go to the spot and take action as per the orders of the Magistrate. Any action taken by the commander is at the will of the commander.

Ordinarily what you mentioned above should be the major functions of army including maintaining of the internal security of the country, protecting the territorial boundaries/borders of the Nation, and contributing to other cross-border security activities such as regional and international peacekeeping operations.

In the army, there is also a clear-cut compactmentalization of activities and departments so there are some departments that work with intelligence operations and some that are on-field operations and as a nation you're supposed to deploy everyone to its own department by training so there will be shared responsibility amongst all the forces but in my own country reverse is the case it's like a jungle kind of arrangement where everybody just do things scatteredly.

It is this lack of coordination and lack of proper devolution and delegation of power within the military system that have caused the over stretched military force that we have today in this part of the world.

You find situations whereby militaries are interfering with some of the domestic duties of the police and other paramilitaries because of the lack of coordination. This is not because the nation lacks military forces in terms of Manpower but because there is no proper coordination of the system and more importantly there are no much effort placed on armoury and equipments in the army over here.

There's a lot of things that shocked me. I have a number of friends who served in many different armies. For instance I know a guy who served in Germany and was in the command. They had the most boring job ever, all paperwork and you were expected to stay after hours and during weekends, but there they couldn't ask you to do it, it was just pressure. If you did not do it and weren't there when they called you, they couldn't give you a formal warning or anything, but they'd not promote you. They'd hold you at the rank you were in for years until you started to be a good dog and do twice the work you had in your schedule, then they'd say you show initiative and can be promoted.

During the pandemics it was the same. They couldn't make you take the vaccine, but you'd be expected to do so. If you said no, they wouldn't promote you, or let you go to a mission and you'd be given the worst, most boring jobs. The army is all about fake freedom and bullying you until you do what they want. They're bound by law, but they don't care. If there's a law saying they can't give you this or that order, they'll find a way around it.

Can you share your caziest experience of your country's army? If you've served before or currently serving, what spooked you the most?

For me, the fact that nearly every commander secretly wants a psycho in every company to do the dirty jobs normal men don't really like is ... shocking.

The main reason why I wouldn't join the army is because it's obey the last order from your superiors

Same here although i do know some soldiers who try to go against their superior officers and do what they think is the right way however more often times than not they are put in a much more dangerous and difficult situation when they do that

It seems that in every country military has a handful amount of harassment that usually goes unnoticed inside which is the main reason why i also would not want to enter the military there are a lot of power dynamics and they would force you to do things that are not very humane just because theyre your commanders

I'm not in the military and I don't plan to be in it, all the best of luck to the galant men and women who have choosing the profession, although I love what the army stands for, discipline and honor to their country, to fight when they're called upon to protect lives and properties even at the risk of losing their own lives in the process.

The main reason why I wouldn't join the army is because it's obey the last order from your superiors, they're like robots, they do what ever they're commanded to do, even when their conscience tells them that the act is wrong, I'm even more afraid because it's a profession where a ruthless regime will use them to oppress and kill innocent people, the soldiers will know the truth that they're doing the wrong thing, yet they go ahead to commit the evil without asking questions, because they're commanded to do so. I however respect the military.

Army personnel are very essentially and unique in discharging their duty, this set of person leave everything that's personal to them and protect their country territory and the citizens, this people don't own their lives anymore, they do things that they are commanded to do, they deserve our kudos, when there is peace keeping in any country they are been assigned to go without even knowing when to come back or even knowing what will happen their, though in my country soldier don't take it lightly with the citizen who crosses their part, but note soldier can not do anything to you without you disobeying the orders given by them, I see the army of any country as God sent.

I doubt you would find any real army or army veteran here in this forum but What I have observed is not only limited to my country but overall Army is really patriotic and never shy away from sacrificing their life for the sake of nation and it's because they stay away from their loved ones we stay safe in our home without any external threats. But at the same there there is a dark side of army wherein so massacres were carried out by Army and if they go crazy they forget humanity as they are already frustrated especially the ones in nations outside western and European nations. One can understand from the crimes committed by Syrian, Pakistani, Iraqi & Sudanese armies to name a few. You can mess with a cop but never mess with an army as they work as unit and will go to any extend to support their peers regardless they are right or wrong.

Well military has allot to offer though I am speaking base on my friend experience as he do relate to me because not all in military can be revail even as brother. He was like detailing to me how they fight battle and most of the battle are politically motivated in our nation. Naturally on a normal standard if the enemies is difficult to catch with bear hand you can shoot directly but some time their commander will tell them not to shoot because they oga boys are this oga boys is the people they are battling with in the field, some time they will publish some news of death people to gain more energy of the allowance for battle field even when it's politics, that some tins is deeply crazy that curruption is in every sector even in the military that got me crazy

I don't think that there is so few members here who served in army. After all, there is some countries where it's mandatory thing after you end school. But question how many will want to share their experience.
In our country military education is not given at school level but we have taken military education at college level. But we learned a lot from there about military strength and about joining the army. The first thing they teach us is how to get fit and lose weight. Because if you are not fit enough and if your fitness is not right then you will never be given chance in army. I don't think the education we got in college level about military strength will fully help us to join army because they teach us the basic steps there.

I haven't served in army, so, I can't share personal experience. But I have many friends who served and their experience is ok. Our army changed into positive direction a lot, comparing with what we had 20-30 years ago. Now we have Western standards there more or less. Still, army isn't for you if you're soft person. But in general, I think that it can turn spoiled children into grown man.

If you are expecting people who enrolled in the army to reply in this thread you opened, you should be aware that there must be few people here in the politics & society section who actually joined their national army and have something to say about their experience within. That being said, it would be better for the sake of discussion if anyone shared their personal experiences dealing with military members or also our own views about the military in our country.

Here in my country it is mandatory for students to get military training in the last year of the highschool education. I got some military training at school, but I don't think it actually counts as being part of the military, because it is a completely different experience, as far as I can tell.
Here being part of the military has a very heavy ideological and psychological charge on the shoulders of the soldiers. It is common for the newbies to get physically trained until complete exhaustion.

I have two siblings who serve in the army, one quit after some time and the other one is still in it after several years,  escaling in range and honors.
The first thing I noticed about them when they first enrolled in the military is how fast they lost weight and got fit, it only took a few months and also how relatively quick they were given training to handle weapons of the size of an AK-103. In other countries, they would not given those weapons while training.

Majority of the army are working for the government and against government opposition members, so they are used to arrest civilians, intimidate and molest those the government feel are treat to them into exile. Be careful with them because they are blood freak.

They are used to rig elections and install a candidate that is not the choice of the masses. This is unfortunate that the experience with the army is not fair to the people.

U don't think this is applicable for all countries. This may be what they do in your own country which are different from other countries.

A successful Army is the one who never interferes in the politics of the country, only protects his borders and does not have any deals with any legitimate country, and only protects his own country and its In addition to all the borders of the country, those who are in them, who are on every border, should stand firm in front of the enemy by being defenders of the country, and those who are with them on the other border of the country, they should take action with them. And do not misbehave with them in  country as well as other country.
Most of the army are getting involved in country politics which is so bad.

I would personally not consider to join them here in my country, there is a huge lack of discipline and honor among oficials, there is much corruption because of the low salaries and the lack of a clear sense of duty from the soldiers. This is the kind of country where the military have direct connect with civilians, they do part of the job which is supposed to be exclusive to police people, which I do not like.
It just take a look a developed countries where soldiers stay in their barracks and police is in charge of law enforcement, unless the situation is very uncontrolled.

By the way, because of the countries many people here live in, it would be reckless or dangerous to talk about weird or bad things happening in their military. They could be target of reprisals.

Can you share your caziest experience of your country's army?

The reason why some of the countries military are not capable of doing their rightful job is just that some do lack discipline, precision and courage, which can be called upon in the middle of battle. And the most important thing of an army is to keep on reminding yourself, for the oath you have taken, to serve your country you can even give your life. Which means you are to carry on with the task you are ask to, to save the country.

For me, the fact that nearly every commander secretly wants a psycho in every company to do the dirty jobs normal men don't really like is ... shocking.

You know sometimes the problems do also come from the head, because there are many of the army's leader who are fighting against peace of the country, which is very wrong, they always say a good leader always shows the good example, then when the leader failed to do so, i don't think the blame should be put on the up coming ones. But ideally since you know what's good and bad you can not belong to the group of disloyalty ones, people that are not willing to save a country only by putting it themselves in danger.
