Hold some only for long term but do always day trading because it's more have earnings in that strategy,I think if your here you need to invest big that is the best way here to earn big if you only buy and sell for low money then your earnings also is very low,i think even it's so risky here to do trading if you hold your coins i'm sure the chance to get high in that is more big than to lose it.
I am assuming by shares you are referring to cryptocurrencies in this context. I would recommend an equal mix of the following:
1. BTC
2. ETH
3. A mix of alternate currencies, do your own research what you like here, but some of these may be NEO, XVG, XRP, TRX, LEND, DRGN etc.
4. A mix of good ICO tokens
