I do not understand what your intent is to say here, but shorting an ICO token would also require someone else providing the long position for you. even when it's rather than an ICO will go down.

What extra benefit do you think will come from shortening ICO tokens? in my opinion it does not matter but rather the success depends on how good and salable the project idea is some ICOs have succeeded withing a very short time while some have failed

The proliferation of "scam coins" was unavoidable and so too were the results. I warned about this for years, the free market always wins.

it is just pump and dump. sometimes the team behind the token is good at pumping, so they advertise it a lot by spending a lot of money in advertisements, then hype it up a lot and eventually spend a lot of money in pumping it so it gains a lot of value for a short time before it gets dumped back down as they cash out all they spent on that token.

if you want profit then just enjoy the pumps and dump faster than the rest of the dumpers. shorting them is harder, riskier and you won't earn the same amount of profit. but there are many who are doing it , so i guess it is more a matter of preference. you can do both though you don't have to just short them you can enjoy the pumps while shorting those that are falling.

I doubt there would be enough liquidity for most ICO tokens. As CodyAlfaridzi already pointed out, shorting an ICO token would also require someone else providing the long position for you.

Even when it's rather obvious that an ICO will go down the drain eventually, remember the old saying: "The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent".

LOL, I agree. There's no such market though. You know one reason ICO's token dooming is that they often not listed in exchange for a long time. I'm talking about the regular market here. It'll be harder to get listed to leveraged ones. But even if there's a way to short it, I really doubt anyone wants to buy the long contract, you will have a hard time getting your orders filled.

Hey, Sometimes I see ICO and think "wow that's not gonna work" but somehow their token is still worth a lot of money. Do you know If it's possible to short ICO's? And if not should it be possible at all?
I think its possible, for ico with short time to be succesfully or to be lose. But to find them is not easy thing.

i do not understand exactly what you mean. you want to short the tokens that newly listed. if so maybe it is risky because the price trends are so much unpredictable in the beginning. i wouldnt do that.

Not exactly, If I see that new token moons (or just stays relatively high), but I belive that project is doomed and it will drop soon, then I would short It. I wouldnt worry about risk for me, because rearly token stays high for very long, but I dont know if somebody would take long end. I am not sure I would do it but the idea seems to be interesting.

Everyone just looks at the bonuses offered in the ico project without thinking how the project works. I see a lot of losses when joining in ico. prices are down when there is in the market and others.

I find it difficult, but there are some ICOs that are quick but successful. If the market is right and the Marketing Team is good I think it's easy to happen.
Until now I still learn how to find a good ICO, although already many articles that discuss, but when practice is still difficult Smiley
