Unless you can find someone lending you Litecoin to short at low interest rates, otherwise you will bleed a lot if Litecoin does not go down much.
why shorting ? you could by other coins instead, has the same effect for you, to earn money.

I want to short Litecoin but over a long time period, e.g. 6 months or more. The longest short I've seen is 1 week at 796.com. Any place that offers longer term ones?
The problem is counterparty risk. I'd love to short LTC as well, over the course of years preferably, but to my knowledge there's no way to do it without having to trust a dodgy exchange/individual.
