I'm going to have to disagree. Generally when doing research on a service (e.g. before buying anything from it), you want any thread that claims the service is fraudulent to pop out at first glance rather than mix in with other discussions that are either inquiring or even praising the website in question.

Id say people use search engines rather than scroll through pages of subboards, which would make both our arguments invalid I guess.

In addition, having to make sure the service doesn't have a Bitcointalk account would add an extra layer of complexity that'd only suck up time and amount to nothing more than the scam accusation ending up in a different board.

Whoever opens the accusation would have to invest that time anyway if they want assistance in form of a negative rating.

I think threads about (potential) scammy services that have no bitcointalk.org account associated with them should not be in scam accusation, but in service discussion (or whichever other board fits better, e.g. digital goods). I think the main reason for the scam accusation board was to get help from DT members in case of a dispute. While this was mainly a user to user thing, bitcoin has moved on and a large number of disputes are between users and services. However if the service has no account here, there is no help from DT possible. Thus a warning in a section that is read more frequently when trying to inform oneself about a service in particular or in general would be more useful. This section is unlikely to be scam accusation and most likely service discussion (or digital goods or whichever other board fits best).

I dont know of a writen definition what should or should not go into scam accusation. If there is consensus about this among the mods, feel free to correct me and lock this thread.
