I just wonder what would benefit him with that many topics?
Probably for backlings (SEO) reasons

Maybe he's affiliated with some of these token projects - or maybe not, who knows. We can only guess what he's working on - but to be honest a home page with lots of topics from the same user is a bit annoying in this case.
The sad thing is that his spam posts span across 6–7 pages of the tokens board.

Thanks for your submissions, members. I had no idea that there was already another thread about the same culprit. I guess if the mods won't do anything, then there's nothing we can do.

As i said on other thread, i don't expect moderator will take action against this user. After all, moderator allows 2 SEO spammer dominate/ruin "Press" board. IMO it's just matter of time before "Tokens (Altcoins)" face similar fate.

Maybe such cases require deMerit and when the account has -1 Merit or more then the time restrictions related to posting increase up to one post per day/week. Whoever does this will know how to break new rules.

If nobody is replying to his topics that means that nobody is interesting in what he is offering, and he will probably stop doing it soon.
I don't think that he cares much about it because he is probably paid just to publish the announcement thread and not to actually be active there.

We can look at it from a positive point of view: it's still possible to sell something altcoin related on bitcointalk meaning it still has enough traffic. Tongue

Good luck trying to moderate altcoins board and trying make it better.
I think someone already asked similar question recently, and I would say that GuruMarketing is not doing anything against forum rules.

Spam should be reported and dealt with according to applicable regulation - but this one probably isn't. The user posts topic in the correct categories - no duplicate of one topic and another. It's true that it looks like spamming because the main page display is filled with many topics from the same user - but as long as he doesn't break the rules then it's allowed. No one was interested in replying to his topics anyway - perhaps many people had ignored him.

I just wonder what would benefit him with that many topics?

I know Tokens (Altcoins) board doesn't matter to most of us, but since it's still part of the forum, some other users or guests may be trying to follow what's going on there.
He's posting about altcoin tokens, so technically, he's updating those users with content they want to follow. I don't think the fact that most of the topics is coming from the same user will matter to them, neither will the fact that he's not engaging with the posts. Will be a mountain of a task to keep up with all those threads.

How long he continues should show how effective his strategy is.

There was a thread created about this same guy in the reputation section.; Is this type of posting behaviour allowed? Which many have confirmed that he is not breaking any of the forum rules directly, which could be why he’s still allowed; the number of created threads as of then was around 280+, and I guess the guy is not giving up; just as the name, it’s obvious it’s a shilling account used exactly for such a purpose.

You can try and report the post and see which action the mods will take..

I know Tokens (Altcoins) board doesn't matter to most of us, but since it's still part of the forum, some other users or guests may be trying to follow what's going on there. Unfortunately, there's something rather unpleasant to any other genuine user who might try checking at that board. I believe it's spam, but I am not sure if the moderators might disagree, hence bring it up here.

GuruMarketing is just spamming the board away hastily and something needs to be done to curb this
