Ahhh, good idea! I actually have an extra 6670 sitting around, not that much power, but I was gifted it awhile back so no loss really. Thanks for the advice!

Personal anecdote. Just found out about 1x to 16x risers and found out they were all sold out on most sites. So I went to ebay to find ridiculous prices and like a month shipping from China. I almost got caught up and bought one. Glad I didn't, just looked at my motherboard to find my 7850 completely covers the 1x slot.

I guess moral of the story; dont jump on bandwagons, and know your hardware.

You can still run a riser out from underneath the 1st card.  It won't allow for as much separation but it still works.

That just means you need to put both cards on risers!

You will have NO problem. A GPU only needs X1 PCIe to run at full speed for BTC/LTC/etc  Wink

So I have a asus m4a785tdv evo motherboard and Im planning to buy 2 7850's. I know these arents the best cards for mining but its a sort of experiment.

Anyways, im planning to buy two of those cards but the problem is that I have one 2.0PCI-E x16 slot and a 2.0pci-e x4 slot. Can I directly plug those gpu's on my motherboard without loosing any speed from the gpu that wil be going in the x4 slot or would I have to guy a pci-e riser cable?
