There are some people doing those and well they had roi ,mined some bitcoins with used equipment and sold it again soo i guess the both connected is possible to roi, now free energy ,will lead into a roi in around 3 months or 4 months and well bitcoin price can raise meaning the time will be shorter then now,the thing is the value of bitcoin,if it reach 500 dollars in december it will mean for this person profit a good profit,i understand there is an if it happens, but the energy is the thing that makes people invest or not, since what a machine can make montly need to be deducted the cost to maintain it .

If he doesnt pay eletricity as sounds to be he can invest some money into miners new or even used, anyway,he can mine some bitcoins even roi with the current value of bitcoin ,if it raises well the roi will be faster,if he reinvest all mined coins into new equipment well he can for sure manage income and bills of equipment.

I don't agree. This reasoning is without base. The price of hardware is extremely high and it is not easy to break even and to have profit if you buy one of them. To not tell that with that profit can be able to buy new equipment (hardware to mine). This is impossible. Cannot have such profit mining with any of the mining machine in circulation (having in mind their price).

Honestly it depends on your electricity price.   If someone is sitting at .15 or so.... a S7 is his only chance.   It has the highest efficiency and he can run it tiil he needs to sell it.  The hope is he run's it long enough that by the time he sells it that puts him into ROI.

But if cheap lets say .05 or something yes old gear will do great for your.  Get some S3's or other decent gear and you will likely do good.

Here is the pictures of my spare room.

If you have a decent budget Lketc Mintforger Dragon 1 Th/s (1000 Gh/s) will be good it can mine solo
easy and friendly it is good in a small space room like that a good ventilation set up will do!

Here is the pictures of my spare room.

I would have sort of table or something that allows you to sit miners a few foot from window (i like a little space as rain/water kills miners).   But point twords window with it open and you will have a pretty easy job with a few miners going out the window on exhust.

The pictures of corners won't do you much.  You dont really want to put a miner up against a corner.  Heat stuck there behind it is not good.

Here is the pictures of my spare room.

Well its kind of a no brainer, just get cheap S1/S3's and have the heat all thrown out that window. ROI should be very easy with free electricity. Try to go for 1 month ROI with S1's and 2-3 months ROI with S3's, not counting the PSU's.

I'd recommend getting some nice EVGA G2 PSU's that will last a long time, as you upgrade your miners to better suit your electrical capacity. And good PSU's also may mean less hardware failure. Any other questions? Tongue

There is a spare room with a window, I'm moving in today so I'm gonna upload picture of the room soon. But I figured out that it's only wifi.

What miner are you using? I don't see that in thread.  But your most likely bet of easy setup is a Ethernet to wifi adapter. They are not to expensive now days.   Check local stores and you might even be able to pick one up (make sure to compare price to amazon, etc).  Sometimes online just is a lot better price.

With spare room that is nice as you should not have to hear it as much.  Also with window I suggest being careful and not putting miner right up against window if you ever have rain or snow, etc.   A little bit of water can kill your miner.

It can be useful to have a box fan blowing air outward. This make it so the heat from the miner more properly is thrown outside and also help to an extend with preventing water and such from hitting the miner.

All in all i mostly do it with the heat. Without a box fan it still get hot inside the room. I have a balcony over my window so no water ever made it in, so i can be thankful for that.

It all depends on what miner and speed of that miner. Some are not horrible on heat.  Then some are like dragon 1T's and S5's that send out a lot of heat.  With it being winter soon some people will use the heat to cool down a room for free.

But if you do look into fan's it's all about the CFM's.   They were doing decent lowes coupons. I got a few fans there for my mining area.

My electricity price is 0. But I don't know how much I can pull from my wall plugs.

Whats your budget? Even if you're on 120v15a there's still things you can do. We can find out with you, if you answer notlist3d's answers. But other things such as neighbors, roommates, outside temperature, etc is crucial to your capacity. Not just your electrical circuits.

You need to tell us a little more.  Are you saying it is one room that you are in?   (This makes a huge difference as as heat and sound).

Do you just have one room, multiple rooms?  Do you circuit breaker you have access to?

I have a little room with a window too, where I can put the miners. But I was thinking maybe scrypt could be better to mine or am I totally wrong?

Pretty much wrong as gear is old on scrypt.  SFards only released a few to general public.  This leaves A2's as kings really still.       But not many companies put money into scrypt R/D.

Do some ROI math but if you have low enough electricity chances are it would be better off mining SHA.  Really depends on electricity.

What is your electricity price?

Trouble is that even with Free Electricity it's tough. One of the best value for money machines would be a second hand S5 for $300. However even if difficulty does not change that is 130 Days to break even. If you were to buy an S3 for $100 Break even is about the same time, but with a lower return after that.

Good news is that with either of them even with difficulty changes & PSU cost etc you should ROI before Bitcoin halving, so I would say go for it.  Smiley

If you have a free electricity and free Internet then it's better to re-start your mining game you can get some bitcoins better concentrate on butterfly devices once check them in their site.

I know what I would do myself. Maybe that can fit to you, maybe not. I have no trust that can be earned from mining. The price of hardware is to high and needed to much time that those pay themselves from the mining. Then the increase of difficulty is unfaithful. In our times it is not to much high from week to week, but it can go high immediately without asking permission and this mean dead of earnings immediately. I remember that not to many months ago from one period to another the difficulty was increased with 30 percent on the average. With this increases you can forgot the earning forever. Then the last thing; it would be impossible for me to hear continuously the noise of the mining machine.

Hello forum Smiley

i left the mining game back when my block erupters became worthless, it made me some nice keyhangers tho ^^

At the moment i just moved to a new apartment, where i have free electricity and free internet included in the rent. and that made me think if i should start mining again. but i have no idea what equitment i should invest in, and i prefer a place in Europe to get it from.

So i would like to know some of you guys opinions on if i should get back in the game or not. also i dont know if i should for for (SHA/Scrypt or x11/x13).

Hope you guys have some good opinions on this subject.

Best Regards

Mate I am pretty sure that if you start mining, your electricity won't be free and included in your rent for a very long time! Smiley You should think about that and be ready for that before you invest into the hardware.

i suggest to put the miners in another room, there was a case of a guy that became ill because he was running a small farm where he went to bed

aside from this, with free electricity is better to focus on something that require the lowest investment

but if space is a problem i would still consider density as important, so big miners are an option

Well some people buying used miners and are able to roi with them, mining and then reselling them. With free energy i would invest already into a new miner to start to get money. The roi time without have to pay the bill of energy is around 3 up to 5 months mining currently or less maybe.

Start reading up on dogie, (or someone of the likes of him)
Read all the setup guides and learn the stats and lays of the different miners and make an informed decision based on reviews, guides and comments around the threads of the different miners.

Hi ranochigo.

The miners will be in the same room as me, but i dont mind the noise.

Thanks for your advice, im gonna take a look into a 2nd hand Antminer.

But i also need to figure out how much power i can pull from the plugs in the wall.

Do you have an separate room which you can isolate the mining machine in? Do you mind if the miners makes too much noise? I would advice you to go for AntMiner S4+ by buying second hand as it has a high hashrate per density. Arguably, S7 would be better in terms of efficiency and hashrate density but the price is likely to be inflated right now as it is limited and efficiency doesn't matter much in your case.
