Although this might be running against the idea that a nice coin should be decentralized and partly mean not to be subjected to any policies, regulations or any man-made laws, I think it would be a good idea if there can be a group of people or a foundation that can issue certification if a certain cryptocurrency is real or just another scam type. Though the nature can just be a voluntary type and not binding or should be serving as just a guide, it can help people especially who are just noobs in cryptocurrency investing.

However, as what I said in the beginning many of us may not like the idea at all, am just concerned about the fact that more and more coins are introduced into the market and some of them can be fake and just a big waste of money and time.
There was a Proof of Dev certification system/site like 2 years ago which was pretty famous, but after a few months the guy who made this POD stuff became corrupt and he made some fake reviews etc.
On the other hand everybody knows that cryptos are risky. Just do your own research and invest with mind. Nobody holds a gun to your head to invest in something you are afraid of .  Grin

This is contrary to the basis idea of decentralized entity.
Investing is always risky, so you cannot complain about that. Also remember that the philosophy behind the coin and the technology should come before the financial aspects.
