What I hate is that some users copy paste these articles BUT DONT ADD their opinions, comments or anything at all onto them. All they do is post a random 'interesting' story yet dont add their opinion or thoughts about it (clearly just a post for the count or to be seen more in the forum)

The banning is their warning according to Badbear. Doubt it will be permanent, but if you're concerned about people being banned you can always PM them and alert them yourself. I sometimes do that as a first resort but we'll see what BB decides.

Well, I think, a PM from a Mod will be taken seriously rather than mine.

Not necessarily, but I'm just saying if you're worried about people being banned a friendly warning from you would be a better option if you don't want staff to take appropriate action which is more than likely a ban in this situation.

Yeah, he'll probably get a ban for doing that. Passed the info on. Thanks.

Well, I wont really want someone to get banned because of my report. I'd rather request to get them warned. They represent a business account. So, I guess, they'll behave responsibly after a warning. Banning may harm their business.

That thread is fine, if it's all a user does it may be more suspect and should be looked into. Without a source link I would have been more suspicious of it as well, though it's been added now.

There wasn't a source when he first posted it. I'm keeping an eye on him. Like Badbear said, unless he posts lots of copy and pasted articles it shouldn't be a problem, but if that's all he does then definitely reportable.

Please check this post history. Apart from answering his own thread, the only thing this user is doing is copy-pasting articles...

It is just a piece of news posted, so people can discuss it(that's what a forum is for, right?)

I think it is only worth to report if you think it is a bot posting or if it is plagiarism from copyrighted contend.

I'm neither saying it spam nor constructive. I just want to know from mods that what should I consider these kinda posts... i.e. my action point. Report them or Dont ? Because I cant check my report status, it'd be meaningless to report a post blindly and then get rejected as it wont improve my reporting accuracy.

Judging from his post history, he has only made 2 such posts and so I think it is alright.

Ofc, it is better if he includes his comments or opinions on the news. Smiley

I don't think, we will report this. It was important news, so many people copy paste important news regarding Bitcoin on this forum.
He is not posting som bullshit on forum, it was good news for Bitcoin.

Even he also posted reference link too on his post.

Reference is edited and added later. It was not there initially.

Still, it's all depends how many posts he posted from other sources. If there is only some posts then I do not think
we have to report it, I do not report normally when some article or news posted by user.
Because I like to read those news, sometime we missed those reports to read so it's good source, user post
reports on this forum and we will read it when we will see.

Lately I have noticed a few posts those are copy-paste from various websites. Are they allowed or we should report them ? If it is to be reported, what comment will help mods to easily identify them ?

For example https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ebay-may-begin-accepting-bitcoin-payments-via-its-braintree-platform-742737 is taken from http://www.pcworld.com/article/2465743/ebay-may-begin-accepting-bitcoin-payments-via-its-braintree-platform.html
Why report that? It's providing info for users that visit these forums but didn't notice these news as long as there is source link then i think it's ok.
