There is another post about it made by me long time ago but no response from admin,  Theymos pls enable show trust rating on Bitcoin Discussion / Beginner's & Help  . No doubt that would help newbies from scam attempt. And most newbies isn't familiar with trust system, once they will see trust rating they might be interested to know more about it. Newbies are the future of this forum, they have to learn everything and they should feel safe on this forum.

I know we have discussed before but the need to protect newbies is rising more a more.
I wouldn't say it's necessarily gotten worse or become more critical to warn newbies. I have to agree with Welsh on this as I've seen it first hand. It was well over a year ago, but I remember someone essentially shutting down comments because of negative feedback on a profile. It was just a discussion thread and the feedback wasn't relevant in any way imo. I'm all for warning people, that's why I have no issue with a user who might have 1000 very similar posts that are just warning newbies or others when something seems fishy or they are exposing themselves to potential scammers. Personally the far better fix is an explanation about how to interpret the data the forum gives everyone access to such as feedback, and rules.

I knew that topic, but not sure that theymos actually integrate it or not, because so far it has still been a draft welcome message.
Nothing ever came of this. That's not to say it won't be implemented at some point in time.

If there are something helpful for newbies and need to be popped up instantly after they registered accounts and log in, at least the forum should integrate the Welcome message after their first log-in, or can expand the pop-up welcome message for every time newbies log in till their total active log-in time surpasses 7 days (as the appearance time for the first type of Flag)

I knew that topic, but not sure that theymos actually integrate it or not, because so far it has still been a draft welcome message.
Here's a draft of a welcome message for new users. The user will see it on the screen confirming their registration, and it'll also be available in the help center at any time.
In addition, there are some misunderstandings on trust and feedbacks. Most of users think they have same functionality to give warnings on potential scammers.

Beginner's and help section is meant for advise, suggestions and guidelines that would enable the new user navigate the forum effective. Trust ratings warn users against entering trades with certain profiles, and it is displayed on boards where trades and deals happen.
Then it's possible newbies can fall into a conversation with a red trusted user. That's why the warning appears on the profile, so they do not enter into PM conversations about trades.

Other than that accounts with negative ratings are allowed to post in the forum like other regular users.

Considering these people that you're referring to are beginners / new to the forum, wouldn't they just missed those small trust rating?
Chances are they'll skip it because they don't have any clue or, they'll disregard it because all they care about are the replies to their questions.

Generally, its a good idea although the only issue that I see with this is sort of embedding a view point on a newbie who might not be too familiar with the forum, and therefore they immediately discredit the user. Newbies are somewhat impressionable whenever they join a community. They will likely remember the users who are helping them, highly trusted users, and will discredit users based on trust. Which if the beginners and help section is being used correctly would impact on how they view certain users replies. They aren't familiar with the trust system, and probably don't quite understand that its subjective, and not a be all end all sort of system. I think we can all agree that the trust system is pretty grey in several areas with DefaultTrust users fighting one another.

The idea of the beginners section being used correctly is for users to ask seemly simple, and basic questions to the rest of the more seasoned users regarding Bitcoin. Rather than exchanging Bitcoin or anything that would normally justify a trust rating being shown in a section.

Although, the trust system might be used for more than transactions/trading I'm not sure whether we should be influencing a newbies perception of a user if the section consists of mainly around newbie inquiries about Bitcoin, and light discussion involving Bitcoin.

I know we have discussed before but the need to protect newbies is rising more a more.

Many people when facing an bitcoin/crypto related issue they come here, create a new account and ask for help.
The most logical place to ask for help is the Beginners and Help Section.
I know most of the newbie scams are happening in PMs., but prevention is also important.

The trust feedback it's not only a trading-related feedback anymore.
