That is a good idea too that are specific to the child boards but IMO it looks like inappropriate because too much text added, also we need to normalize when we are creating a data for each category and it is more efficient if a single category.

For me, it looks like this if you include those additional texts

1. Orig board

2. Edited board

I am aware of the aesthetic problem when there is many sub-sub and the only solutions seems to be:
1- Using different set of colors for each sub (and its sub-sub). In the example of Ratheon, after "Child Boards" "Guide (italiano)" will be blue, "Progetti" will be green... "Mercato (Mercato valute,...,Gambling (italiano))" will be all reddish...etc
I think in this case, Italiano or any other language could be omitted in" child boards" listing and can be kept in the headings.
Pro: clear divided subs, not much space used. Cons: some people don't like to change what was used.
2-  Return to the line when there is many sub-sub to list so "Mercato" for example will be listed the last one. Cons: more space to use, may cause confusion.
3- khaled suggestion? I don't know if OP will be considered but pop-up seems harder to accept by admins, maybe?

Your idea is good at the first place and it's technically doable. But the current displaying logic is flawless. If you click on any board, you'll find its sub board and likewise, you'll find sub boards of sub boards. However, displaying all child boards and grandchild boards may cause aesthetically unpleasing, for example:

Italian board has a variety of child boards already:

It would hurt my eyes if showing all child boards of "Mercato":

How to display the Web wallet section? I don't find any guide to show it. I only have option to ignore boards.
It is more easily for you to find the sub board you want after disable default display of other boards.

If you want to follow one sub-sub board, Electrum, ie. you can apply the Watch board: https://bitcointalk.org/watch_board.php. Type the number 98 (for Electrum sub-sub board), and click on Watch board. That's it.

I like you suggestion @snipie, as a newbie I encountered this problem. Usually, when I want to check Web wallet section, I need to open Service Discussion first. This makes me wasting a few second, even it's not a major problem for me. I think there is no disadvantages, so I think this is good suggestion.
It depends on your needs. Which boards you want to use (most regularly) on the forum. You can modify your setttings to display your interested boards and un-display the boards you don't have interest in.

You can visually and manually do that by clicking on the + icon of each board, sub board to enable or disable its visual display. There is another way to do this too. Visit the Ignore Boards Preference: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=youruserid;sa=ignoreBoards

I don't think the default display for some sub-sub boards is needed. If there is something should be displayed by default, I propose the forum rules. We already have Home | Help | Search | Profile | My messages | Members | More | Logout. What if we have one more "Rules"?

I know we have pinned topics for it but I still prefer to see it on the main tab when newbies log in their accounts on the forum.

For sub-sub board, if one user actually uses the forum, and spend enough time to discover it, that one will surely find what he needs. And if he can not find it, he can ask for supports from community in the Beginners & Help.

It will be very helpful for newcomers but I don't know how it could be implemented!
There isn't enough space to display all sub-boards already so what to say about displaying sub-boards and their sub-boards. We have to think about mobile users with small screen sizes.
However, using JS to show a pop-up box containing a list of sub-boards when hovering over a link seems to be a better alternative.

Consistent usage of the forum is a good method to understand it, when I first use an Android phone no one guided me it was just consistent usage, that just an example. Only if the newbie has zero common mentality or just don't look around, then they will not find or see it, it might take a longer time in some than others but it's something they would see
My suggestion isn't that complicated and won't take too much space except maybe for marketplace where we can find too many sub.
I am pretty sure even junior, members, full, maybe even senior+ members aren't aware of some sub-sub-subs.
I will try to modify the first page in my browser and post a screenshot to make things easier to understand  Smiley

In my opinion, the placement of board and sub-board in this forum works fine and it's not that hard to find as long as you know what board does the sub board belongs then you can find what you wantes find easily. If it is changed then many changes will be made so it's fine as it is until now so don't worry about it.

I don't think this is needed. The child board "Wallet Software" does the job pretty nicely if you ask me. Regarding new users finding it difficult to traverse through the Childboards, I think it not necessarily needed because we have Beginners and Help for newbies to help the newbie queries and other can find the Electrum and other wallet subboards in "Wallet Software"

Ahh. From specific to general? Hm. Sounds great but for me it isn't looking good. I rather not to change the arrangements of boards and sub-sub boards just to please the new members. If they want to know the forum well, they should know how to room around. Besides, old members of the forum might confuse of what happens to bitcointalk.org once it is implemented. And lastly, it make the first page more messy since a lot of boards that we will see and it will eat a lot of space.

Hey, if this was said before let me know to lock the topic.
This suggestion is simple. Can we show the sub-sub board like:
Electrum...Hardware wallets to appear in the first page (https://bitcointalk.org) so essentially new members can find it easily under "Development & Technical Discussion". It will appear basically like this "Child Boards: Wallet software (> Electrum > Bitcoin Wallet for Android > BitcoinJ > Armory > Mycelium > Hardware wallets)"
Same idea goes for "Invites & Accounts", "Group buys", goods sub...
Thanks.

Edit1: updated with a pic to make things clearer
Edit2: removing the pic (since the modification may not be noticed by some people?) and replacing it by 2 pics.
