The issue I have with tokens is that they are yet to start delivering real product, it just fall in the category of good ideas but bad implementation of the protocol. It could have second chance in the proof they mean business and not just SIA but most of these projects

SIA coin was one of the top coins in 2017 and it gave a huge ROI to its investor, even I bought this coin to hold a long time. But later the crypto scenario changed and all of our hope gone in vain. Now, I don't think this coin will get its previous hype and popularity again, but it will survive for the long run.

I'm surprised to see siacoin at #66 on coinmarketcap, which just goes to show you that you shouldn't look past the top 20 or so coins if you're looking for good ones to invest in.  Siacoin is currently selling at 22 sats and there isn't even a price chart on cmc.  That's pretty bad in my opinion.

Often, developers focus more on the project than on marketing and community.
You're absolutely right about that, and it's unfortunate for investors that that's the case.  Look at relatively successful coins like dash and how their community is still trying to promote its real world use.  Even old coins like doge, tho not still being developed, has a tremendously active community.  When the devs abandon a coin like SC, it's not a good sign.  I had definitely heard of it before but didn't know how it was performing on the market.

Looks like it's not doing too well.

Hello community !
To those of you who might know a bit about Siacoin, what is your impression ?
I got a bunch of it and i reall feel their project is interesting but the team looks so slow doing things,
Will they recover after the huge loss from their ICO?

It's a mess to me i'd like Your impression !

Thx

Not always a lack of developer activity means that the project is not developing. Often, developers focus more on the project than on marketing and community. Siacoin is very recognizable on the cryptocurrency market, so I think that developers would have made a big mistake if they stopped developing it. I think these are smart people and the project will continue to grow and SIA will rebuild its position.

Yes you are right. They gathered exactly zero in their ICO Tongue   Impossible to recover from that. But on other hand, they will not be treated as a security this way. So you will be allowed to use them in most countries.  YAY.  Who would have thought it is better to start project just normal that with ICO.

Hello friend, i think you should add the various link for Siacoin, so it can be easy to know if its the real siacoin or not. Thanks
That's right, because without the right links, everyone can't do further checks, especially since the Siacoin token has already been listed on several good exchange exchanges, even though there are some exchanges that have already removed it from the token list.

What huge loss from ICO if I may ask? Was Siacoin recently crowdfunded via ICO?
Well, it's a decentralized cloud storage-based cryptocurrency. I read you pay $1 for 2TB storage on Sia while centralized cloud storage sites like Dropbox charges $12TB(not sure about this though). This probably won't work out well for Sia if it's not better & easy to use like Dropbox.
Sia has been around for a while. It should have better features by now.
There are better sia alternatives, by the way

Their latest news is siacoin listed on kraken. I had stopped following this project after the market turned bearish,
if you want to know what they achieved so far, you can read the news on their blog https://blog.sia.tech/

SIACOIN; it is one of those low-cap coins that I bought back in 2017 hoping for it to moon. I think this coin has gone well past its glory time. I don't know if the team is still rolling out updates. It has been a while since I heard anything about the project

The project team is still active posting what they're doing in twitter but it doesn't seem they will have a good future, the price looks like stagnan on 0.002 since it's all time high 0.05, i think this coin is not have a really good future and not recommended for long time investmentn anyway this is my personal prediction

I don't really know about Siacoin (SC) but I see it is good to be in a large enough volume market maybe you should be interested in this.

SIA has prepared a fund of $ 3.2 million for development and speed up and it may still not be finished so it's a little slow source: https://sia.tech/funding2019

Maybe the core team is lacking developers to work on SIA 'cause last I've heard they've hired a new developer to fill in the gap.
But, what's great about this coin is the community that backs it up. There numerous apps that was built on top of their platform and were contributed by the community such as Pixeldrain, Sia Slice, Roadie, Repertory and many more. This just goes to show that this coin is still very much alive and isn't dying anytime soon. With the new dev on the line, maybe we'll see new updates from them soon.

There was no ICO for this coin.  Roll Eyes

SIA is a mess man, you will just need to do some research
its had lots of miner drama, made a buncha promises they fell thru on, like x5 over, and now are moving forward again i guess?
It was good money for a little bit back in the day, but nowadays its got way too much baggage and the idea/profits are ded in the water imo
some hardcore supporters/baghodlers are still sure otherwise of course Tongue

Where did you hear that they ICO'd?

As far as I know, Siacoin held no ICO and was put out for public mining, which is one of the things that makes it more attractive than the rest of the storage coins which are profit driven. They seem to be one of the more genuine projects with a good community.

The only thing that would resemble any sort of ICO is their latest round of funding from Bain Ventures, but that was a private angel investor.

I'd be long on this in the long term, because of the fact that a) it has good fundamentals and b) it has shown the capability to really rally in volatile times.

It was together with DGB's beautiful days but I don't think that it will be the same again. It's going to be hard for SIA to recover from the huge loss and the very hope of it is to see bitcoin recover much. It has survived the painful market of 2018 and even up to now so if you think that you can still wait for the right time to sell, think of it. But if you don't have enough patience for it, start selling it.
