It can be a major selling point but that does not mean the technology is realised and/or plausible. I have not seen a sidechain release in the wild at all.

This is my thread's point: has Lisk implemented Sidechains already? What is the roadmap? Is a blapp running on a sidechain as we speak?

@LiskHQ @charleshoskinson @BigCabrito @karmacoma would be nice if you could chime in

It's working in an alpha state. Check out our documentation and SDK, you can simply spin up your own sidechain on Lisk.

Any sidechain example yet?

Thank you for the details on that Max. Looking forward to exciting apps running on dem side chainz. Smiley

That's pretty cool Max, any projects with LISK sidechains in their roadmap in the pipes already?

The SQLite database seems a predicate of a centralized database. Unfortunately a sidechain is a decentralized concept using extrapolated nodes.

It depends when you talk about sidechains what you mean, unfortunately it is not a defined concept and purely theoretical. I believe it to be a different blockchain that is linked with an initial blockchain. Have they done this? I have not yet seen this concept be released.

It is the major selling point of Lisk

Lisk Description: Develop and publish blockchain applications with your own sidechains on the open-source Lisk Platform.

Has LISK implemented Sidechains? Is there an example of a BLAPP running on a sidechain?

Thanks guys
