I think that the best thing that cryptocurrency has done is allow earning money. There are lots of ways like.

Offer services and be paid with crypto
Mining
Lending
Trading

There are a lot more, but I think it's the most common.

It's the people that give it value, not in the essence of the crypto itself. It's permanently attached to something to provide it with value.

While I agree that everybody has access to Bitcoin, there are actually a lot of prerequisites. You cannot have Bitcoin if you don't have electricity. You cannot have Bitcoin if you don't have internet connection. You cannot have Bitcoin if you don't have a smart phone. The list of prerequisites goes on.

Bitcoin is a digital currency, but a considerable portion of the world has not yet entered the digital age. Much is still left behind. So if we are to choose the most inclusive version of currency, it would still be the hard money.

Importantly. We should have a great use case for those cryptocurrency. Like the first coin bitcoin. Which was designed to be a peer to peer coin. Lately there are lots of improvements on blockchain tech and many use cases sprout out there with different and alternative means of usage. Byy unfortunately there are other projects created only to gain money and profits from trading alone nor build hype.

Do not forget that the main reason why bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are made is to become an alternative payment system or currency itself for which we're enjoying today although the issue lately is about the quite high fee.

But with all the changes that we're having in the market, you're right that it's becoming the source of exchange and that main reason is remaining. It all depends on the owner of it and the variety that we have which we're also looking for cheaper fees while bitcoin becomes a store of value.

Crypto-currency is a digital currency, crypto-currency is global but crypto-currency, is ban/restricted in some counties making it hard/not available to them, also their are some religious Rights that believe or are in contradictory believes about crypto-currency,

So much already could be exchanged, exchange is not uniquely meant for crypto-currency.

I think the significant of crypto-currency are much and I choose to say every individual to do there research and find out their own significant/importance about cryptocurrency currency.
