Yes there are plenty of resources that you can read so you can understand different altcoins and its significant. You can use the ICO review and rating websites and also you can try to check binance academy for some important concepts in cryptos. You can also watch plenty of videos in youtube for further knowledge.

the many projects offer interesting and different solutions for this reason the first thing to do is to search through the main sites that can be coinmarketcap and coingecko where you will find an overview of all the altcoins present.
You can also stay informed about the news and trends on Cointelegraph.
That is if the project and news are in coinmarketcap and coingecko and cointelegraph, now if the project has no data on the three sites how can someone analyze it? because through the project website itself, the discussion will not be complete.

To become a realy popular altcoins need to be useful for people, it must have a lot of liquidity and a big ecosystem of users.
Altcoin must be in demand. Also it must be simple to buy and sell altcoin.
It is good that now appear such services like https://www.koinal.io that allows to buy cryptocurrency directly from bank card.
It becomes more simple to use cryptocurrencies.

Now appears a lot of different altcoins and it is very difficult to investors to change the best one.
Also is important that cryptocurrency system is developing and appear services that allow to buy and sell cryptocurrency directly from bank card.

Hey Guys, im still very new to crypto.  is there a resource to learn about the significance of different altcoins before investing?

I think you're talking about why you need to invest different altcoin,  thus you're asking what is the significance of those coins; its just simple it is better to invest in different place just like what the proverb says, " don't put all eggs in one basket" thus you can easily manage the risk of investing in that way.

there is still a lot of time to learn, don't immediately take the decision to invest in a different coin, but try to be more thorough and need a deeper analysis of doing it. I am only sharing experiences that I have had before.
Too many new projects arises in the market that serves a good services and trying hard to formulate a good market that can be usable and profitable to their respective client or customer, but yeah what you need to do first was to read its whitepaper and feed your mind with so much learning about this new project. But there's a different group oraganizing a live ama that you can join to watch it on live and be informed about their projects. So yeah each altcoins has their own kind of significance in the market today.
That "too many" makes newcomers confuse themselves who is telling right or who is not. That is why I suggest just check https://coinmarketcap.com/ as it was considered the most reliable resource of information about crypto.

We have to be careful visiting sites and that need to check if we are visiting the right or legit one. Some are just clickbait, can't ignore that because many people were trying to trick people for their own benefits.

Very true! there are lots of sites who are doing this for their vested interest. Tricking or pointing some projects to earned from referrals or to earn as paid advertisers,.

Newcomers needs to established in-depth knowledge with the project that they are aiming to follow and support, with this ideas and information they'll just easily acknowledge which coins or which teams are good to support and expect value for their money.

I agree with what you said to avoid losses that will be experienced by many beginner traders in investing in different Altcoins, of course, you need to open https://coinmarketcap.com/, here we can guide and learn to understand the movement of Altcoins in question for investing.

if you want to learn to understand it, you can search for it through Google or via Altcoin that you like, at this time because every Altcoin always has a website and a white paper that also explains all the concepts, goals, goals very completely and neatly, learn casually and don't rush -hurry in understanding it so that you can digest all the information properly

You will have to do your own research and analysis of some of the altcoins you want to buy. So you can find out the difference between each coin,
to be more sure when you decide to invest in these coins. This forum is also quite complete, there are many predictions and discussions of several
altcoins, maybe if you take the time to read a lot of some of the topics in this forum, will find out which coins are really recommended for purchase.
In addition to the information on this forum, you can try visiting the coinmarketcap sites. There, including a very complete display of altcoins
information that is needed.

Hey Guys, im still very new to crypto.  is there a resource to learn about the significance of different altcoins before investing?
The most important part of altcoins is their usability, invest base on high quality usefulness and you will thank me later, using coinmarketcap you can easily figure out why some altcoins have high ranks and why others have low ranks, DYOR

but I find it easier to access via Coinmarketcap.
Yup, that's why for beginners i highly recommend to visit coinmarketcap as well because its very easy to understand. .wherein even at your very first visit you can easily gets what is the real purpose of the site.. The graph, the level of coins along with the volumes in the market will be displayed in just one click.. So you don't need to ask which coins will be good for investment especially if you're new because all the information are in it.

Hey Guys, im still very new to crypto.  is there a resource to learn about the significance of different altcoins before investing?
You can easily find it on the Coinmarketcap website, there you can see and be able to choose your investment. I think you can try investing with several different altcoins, but these altcoins have a good value and potential to invest in. therefore you can access Coinmarketcap and can be learned. I think Coinmarketcap is a good solution for traders in investing.
Not only there, but through several other ranking sites can also be learned by newbies who want to learn to invest, one of which is through coingecko which also provides services that are almost the same as coinmarketcap.

That's right, at Coingecko we can also understand the price and chart of a coin, almost the same as the coinmarketcap. but I find it easier to access via Coinmarketcap.

trader might work on possession of knowledge and more to find ideas with the chance on investment as appealing different news and release from media and developer as followed with the chance on decision with the option for the order confirmation by the market.
On the contrary, I will say never trust any news and articles because they are just paid to shill for some coins. Yes, there are some who actually write the truth but the percentage of such articles is really low and I would rather analyze and invest based on my understanding than investing/trading a coin because someone else recommends it.

Marketcap: If you are investing in any coin, it takes a few seconds to check their market cap on CMC which tells you how much it is being traded and what is the market volume cap right now. The bigger the cap, the more is the confidence in the coin while investing.
Honestly I never believe into marketcap number because in my opinion it is highly a manipulated thing but unfortunately most of the crypto investors are believing into these numbers as their primary criteria while choosing a coin for their investment/trading purposes. Overall, I must say we are all misguided with wrong criteria tools for selecting coins. Your other 2 points are perfect and I agree with them.

is there a resource to learn about the significance of different altcoins before investing?
There are various aspects of measuring the significance of altcoins.

1- Use case: You must understand what an altcoin provides, like ethereum was successful because it introduced the concept of smart contracts and altcoins were built on it. Having good use cases brings more value in long term.

2- Scalability: You should know how the project looks in a few years' time because ultimately the value of the product will decide the price of the tokens.

3- Marketcap: If you are investing in any coin, it takes a few seconds to check their market cap on CMC which tells you how much it is being traded and what is the market volume cap right now. The bigger the cap, the more is the confidence in the coin while investing.

There are other things though so don't sleep on these 3 as I can see some good suggestions from others too. A good link shared by others.

coinmarketcap you can make a choice. My advice to choose rank 1-20 it is a potential coin with different prices, and various exchange sources. You can adjust to your budget and conduct analysis before buying for investment

Hey Guys, im still very new to crypto.  is there a resource to learn about the significance of different altcoins before investing?

1. Most of the altcoins are shitcoins that are there for sole reason of pump and dump with no use cases.
2. I would suggest you app which give signals about altcoins’s listing on various exchanges and news about them.
2.1 - Blockfolio is the app I’m using to keep track of altcoins and news about them, I’m running that app on iOS and not sure if android version is there, but you can check Smiley

There are people giving their reviews on youtube regarding various altcoins, the one that i watched was “CoinBloq” but e stopped uploading his content last year. People here can suggest you various youtube channels but proceed with caution when revising new content regarding altcoins.

There is an android version of Blockfolio and it is a good app because it gives you almost all possible information about crypto. Like the charts and the news, which have been very useful so far in making some decisions about trading and new news about new projects. As far as the alts are concerned, try to concentrate on the main ones, the top alts in the top 30 and then make your decision to see which ones you want to invest with.

For difference between altcoin out there and a lot of stuff related to cryptocurrencies.
I highly recommend https://99bitcoins.com. You can learn a lot of things in their website, they have also youtube channel that have weekly news about
cryptocurrency which you can use it as fundamental analysis and to keep updated in the current news about crypto world.
Some altcoins have different platform and use so learn how you will keep updated about them.
Don't get bored in researching and finding crypto that have huge potential someday.
Don't ways your time in some new altcoins, they always have high risks they will not get survive in the market and some of them are scams.

I think gaining knowledge is not difficult at this time. a lot of literacy that he can read and understand. once it is sufficient with the knowledge he can start investing. experience will support the knowledge he has. When you want to learn and don't close yourself to growing I think becoming a professional trader or investor will not be difficult.
No matter how much you learn it is always difficult to trust these altcoins because the reality is that hardly 5-10% of the coins reach their potential and even then the price of the token might not reach where you expected it to reach.

I have completely stopped investing in ICOs and projects before their coin is at least listed on a decent exchange and even then, I always see what they are planning in the future which then gives an idea of how the coin will prosper months to follow. There are lots of other criteria need to be applied but we must begin with at least 3 to 5 strategies.

Hey Guys, im still very new to crypto.  is there a resource to learn about the significance of different altcoins before investing?
Entering 2021 Cryptocurrency continues its positive trend. The increase in cryptocurrency prices earlier this year is proof of public confidence in crypto assets as a promising investment option. Before starting to invest, you have to consider all the possibilities that could happen, because investing in crypto can be said to be more difficult than traditional assets and stocks, because of the high volatility and risks involved in it. So it takes proper planning to make a profit.

significance of different altcoilns.

Altcoins play a different role in the cryptocurrency market. If you look at the Ethereum ecosystem you see a lot of good things in it. I see many solutions that altcoin offers and it enriches and diversifies the cryptocurrency market. I think in the future altcoins will play an important role in real life because they help us with more problems than just paying. We can manage records, documents, people, property ...

There are alot of altcoin out there, but most of them have similliarity. For example : ethereum, ada, bnb and dot is similiar. But dot provide new feature what ethereum does not have ( it can scale without hard fork ). But there is also different like : ethereum and file coin. Ethereum provide smart contract and file coin provide blockchain to store the file decentralised.

Student coin provide similiar to ethereum but more advance so user can create their community without hustle.

Do not forget that when you get a lesson about investment or trading, you need to make sure that you can get the right lesson because many lessons will not tell the truth. That will need to have more research for you to know if that lesson can give you knowledge about investment or trading to make a profit from both things. When you start to invest or trading, you can use small money to see how good you learn from the lesson to see if it is better to add more funds to invest or trading.

You can learn about it and find out for yourself on coinmarketcap.
I think if your goal is to invest, it is very important with the Altcoins that you invest, at least you can reap the benefits of various types of coins that will have prices in the future. that's in my opinion the importance of storing different Altcoins.
Difficult thing about that is that it is hard to read one by one on how the coin will benefit one investor.
This is why my scope in CMC would be only inside top 10 and not even a strand of hair below that ranking.
Many shitcoins are coming and they won't ever end.

This is true and tested already. Investing on random shitcoins out there will give hard time for newbie especially for a high volatility coin. Actually there's a website called coinmarketcal.com that list the event for different project and gauge how hot the news for the project. There suggested coin to buy has basis of upcoming events so even newbie can use that info before buying token without doing a 1 by 1 research.

This forum is the right place to learn everything about crypto and altcoin out there. Go to altcoin announcement then you will find old altcoin and some of new altcoin. The you can get their whitepapper to learn about the project, roadmap, who is who, etc...
Not everything you see there is good altcoins but it's a good reference to know what are the good and bad ones. You'll get a hint by the feed back of the thread through the other posters and its trust feed back. You'll get the history by going through it. And for the good ones, you'll have to check the market and do research upon knowing them, you can ask in here if you find one.

Hello, OP.
Please look up Google first before starting a new thread here.
CMC (CoinMarketCap) is one that you're gonna look up for many coins even the top 10 and so on.
Many data are provided there. The charts, the exchange it is traded at and to what coin can it be traded, wallets, etc. More than what you can ask for.

Hey Guys, im still very new to crypto.  is there a resource to learn about the significance of different altcoins before investing?

Good sources to read through first could be coinmarketcap.com or coingecko.com. On this sites most crypto projects are listed and if you click on a certain project you also can see some infos about that project, a short description and also linke to the webiste of the project.
So you could just go to this 2 sites and looked through the projects until you find a few that you find interesting and then you should dive deeper into this projects by reading their whitepapers, looking at the tokenecomomics the utility of the token and also at the team and the roadmap.

You know what, the majority of the altcoins in this field of business are honestly not good or shit coins they called.
But I cannot also deny that some of the altcoins are also give a nice profit depending in the volume in the market and quantity of
the traders as well. And one of the reference to use on this are Coinmarketcap, coingecko, and crypto.com.
True, even though in Coinmarketcap, coingecko, and crypto.com there are still some unlucky coins that are not suitable to have, but for reference in general it is good to use especially if the OP can make their own comparisons on the three sites you mention.

you can start to visit coindesk.com and just click the learning tab and then you will get so many articles that will give you a lot of knowledge started from the bitcoin and then comparable from the various assets that exist in the crypto market.

You can also find the same thing on cointelegraph.com too and both of the sites were the best sites to learn more about that dude.

That will give you a complete explanation about various crypto or you can visit crypto wiki created by developer of token/coin.

Everything can easily be search within the browser or internet so you do not have to worry about any resources on where you can specifically find out information about a certain Altcoin that you wish to have with. This forum can also serve as a source of information for you just have to create a thread for your inquiry or just rather scroll and roam around the forum to seek answers about such Altcoin. Social media platforms can also do help like Twitter and Telegram because Altcoins that came from projects even the new existing ones do have such. But you can find it all just by searching into your browser so no need to get complicated.

The ANN section alone has a lot to offer to users that wanted to know specifics of every project. And once you check their thread, you can eventually go to their website as you will find more information about their project. You can get a comprehensive idea also about their concept by reading their whitepaper or any technical documentation. But to check their actual progress regarding their developments, you can check their posts in their social media channels.

Hey Guys, im still very new to crypto.  is there a resource to learn about the significance of different altcoins before investing?

I advise you to take some time and read things that post in the altcoin section, that includes reading the ANN Thread of the altcoin, for example imagine that you want to know about Litecoin? what I would recommend would be to go to coinmarketcap, searches for Litecoin (LTC) and then look for the community, see an example here:

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/litecoin/

with that you can read altcoin's ANN Thread here on bitcointalk, you can have more information on altcoin's twitter and reddit and you'll be able to get a lot of knowledge about any altcoin

I agree with you. There are many places where you can learn a lot of different information about the coins.

In my opinion, the main thing is to research the various aspects of your chosen coin before investing. I mean don't just look at the current market performance or the whitepaper of the coin. It is also good to make a research about the purpose of the project, whether there is potential in it, to research the team behind this project and all the other things that are related to the coin and the future increase in its price.

Just go with the basic and if you are really that serious on knowing the utility or usefulness of such coin or project then you can always read up their ANN thread.
If you do wish to go further then you can read up their Whitepaper and Roadmap. You can easily picture out or know on whats the project is all about.
Making out comparison on other projects as well.

Significance? This is where you should really be aware off because in all of the altcoins in the market then most of them are just redundant to each other.

There’s a lot of resources online where you can learn about cryptocurrency, its easy to search for what you’re looking for but if you know someone who are already into cryptocurrency much better to ask for a help so you wont get lost and overwhelmed with too much information about cryptocurrency. I started to learn crypto on youtube and in this forum, just keep exploring this forum and you’ll be good.

Your post does not simplify what you mean by significance. There are different altcoins really but significance is what seem not clear but I'm sure you can trace your self to cmc. If you check cmc, there are numbers that got some top positions in the list and I think they are more significant to the lesser price coin this is the reason for their different prices.  Their uses are far different from each other.

Well welcome to the fun but there is not just any one stop shop.  What I can tell you is to diversify your readings.  Make sure before you buy into something exhaust all media outlets as you can (here, redit, twitter, medium articles, and lots of google).  If you read one article and get sold it can very much be biased so be careful.  And again welcome to the show enjoy your time here Smiley

Check the coinmarketcap just like two to three people are suggesting above. Then find some altcoin at the top 50 or 100, look at their historical data, check their white paper, check the people behind this project and it's latest developments. So, you won't fall investing to a shitcoin.
I guess these will be enough resources to differentiate the top altcoins in the market.

And before you invest, know how much you'll be investing, and don't just throw your money into an altcoin that has been told to you that's being said as a good altcoin.

You're on the good track by doing the first step of researching.

Best to take trades on any altcoins according to major events and follow CoinMarketCal to get updates of upcoming events. BTW, don't hodl any altcoins for longer period of time as most of those are shitcoins. So, best way to make profits by taking entry according to events and take profits before 1 weeks of that events. Thought TA (Technical Analysis) is needed to select proper buy zone of any altcoins.

Hey Guys, im still very new to crypto.  is there a resource to learn about the significance of different altcoins before investing?

You could easily search everything on Google, just make sure to know everything on an altcoin token before actually investing and buying the altcoin.

Here you go https://coinmarketcap.com/alexandria/

I hope that will help you to know the basic knowledge about crypto but it will not give you a lot of explanations about crypto and in another way you should always try to read various article that already published by coindesk or cointelegraph too.

I can recommend this website, as well as you could use the coinmarketcap website if your researching for an altcoin since everything that you need to know about a token is already in the website with the complete list of top cryptocurrency in the market.

If you want to learn about the importance of different altcoins before investing? You can search for it via Google or via Altcoin which you like at this time because every Altcoin always has a website and a white paper which also explains all the concepts they have built in a very neat manner.
