The auction is now over.

The winning bids were 1.75 BTC. The first person who made this bid will be the winner. I will be contacting them within the next 24 hours.

I say we all team up and not bid, then we all split the $10 with the person who won the bill at 0.1 BTC

Prisoner's dilemma. I could make a buck this way by splitting the $10 with you lot. Or I could bid 0.10000001 BTC and make almost 10 bucks.

And what if someone else is thinking like me?

And someone could be a dick to you as well. 0.10000002 BTC

Which is playing into OPs hands.

Not to mention OP could be playing us pretty easily. He could send himself .01 coins more than the winner.

I won't be doing such a thing but that would simply mean this auction has a hidden reserve. That's not fraudulent in my perspective.

Alternately, it could be done in a "share" style. 100 shares of the $10 issued for .005BTC each. No single person is allowed to own more than 5 shares. Pool op, who bids for the $10 then converts $10 to BTC and splits it evenly to shareholders.

And what makes this $10 bill so special over any other $10 bill?
It's about to be sold for Bitcoins.
