Seems like the Australian border control mail sorters can open any package they like watching those Border Patrol programs.

Domestic mail will probably never be randomly opened unless, like you said, it reeks of drugs or is very suspicious.

They do not, unless it reeks of weed or something like that.
Aus Post also do not do any inspections of domestic mail/packages.

They need reasonable suspicion to open something, which they can only get from the cops or customs, and that is generally because they are watching rhe seller or buyer very closely.

this made me wonder, does the USPS do any inspection of random packages?  I wouldn't imagine so.  Unless it's like randomly they sometimes have a drug sniffing dog or something.

I'm pretty sure UPS themselves don't have any right to start opening people's mail. They could alert the police if they suspect something suspicious though.

Hi,
Sorry for the grave digging ( replying to an old topic) but i want to know if there is such ste as silk road right now? Is it safe to use it and also any tips from users of this site will be appreciated .
Thanks
BR

There's lots of sites like Silk Road. Just google darknet markets or look on reddit. And what do you mean by safe? There's always a risk involved in using them.

They just used Tor to be anonymous and simply made a market where anyone could sell anything with escrow and Bitcoins. Most the drug packages where simply in normal mail just double, triple or quad wrapped and vacuum sealed. Supposedly it was pretty safe for domestic orders. Even if someone found out whats inside there's no proof you actually ordered that and you can easily claim plausible deniability if your smart. However, I still don't know how these super drug labs from Holland and germany where sending kilo's of stuff though the mail to the Usa and all around the world daily and getting away with it.

Most items were sent via public mail or couriers. You can't really distinguish what's in a generic ordinary-looking parcel. It was just like any other marketplace like eBay, apart from they used an escrow system.
Sounds interesting..and how they achieved to send worldwide things that are iligal in some places? I am in danger if i so to the post office and recieve a pack of heroin.

The drugs they dealt with on there are illegal in most countries. Sending drugs through the mail is a risky business and is not foolproof, but there are methods to obscure the contents of the package (known as stealth shipping). Drugs are usually vacuum packed often 2 or 3 times. It's best to only order drugs shipped from your own country as you'll be pretty safe then. I wouldn't risk buying from abroad.
