Are all those changes still recommended for only running one or even maybe up too three 1080 TI's? Everything i find online is for basically 6 or more GPU's on that motherboard. I just want to make sure i set it up correctly when it comes time.
It's not absolutely necessary when you only run one GPU, but it's still considered a good practice to disable devices that you're not planning to use. So if it's a dedicated mining rig, then you might just get yourself familiar with the BIOS and disable all the unused stuff like audio, serial etc.

O lastly... Does anyone know if their is a big difference (Performance wise) in the following two GPU's for mining? (Bonus Question Smiley ...)

EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti iCX GAMING, 11G-P4-6591-KR, 11GB GDDR5X (Core Clock-1480MHz / Boost Clock-1582MHz)
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 GAMING, 11G-P4-6593-KR, 11GB GDDR5X (Core Clock-1556MHz / Boost Clock-1670MHz)
Performance wise you won't see much if any difference between these two. The 1st one will probably run at a bit higher core clock by default, but you can always adjust the clocks manually.

Ya its going to be a dedicated mining rig that i will expand on as time passes, just gonna start off mining Nicehash till i learn more about the other mining programs and pools that are out their.

And good to know about the two GPU's Thank you for that as well!

Ok Thanks, So basically anything more then a single GPU i should adjust the bios then correct?

Still no, Just adjust when something went wrong, for a 3 GPU I don't think you need some adjustments, those settings mention above wont affect your hashrate so don't bother, If ain't broke, just don't fix.  Grin

if you will plug one GPU to your mobo, there is won't be any problem and you do not have to do setup anything specific in bios or windows for that
actually it is very straight forward and plug and play procedure : just plug your card in, load windows, install drivers, restart - and you are good to go!
 Cool

Hey guys, new guy here learning as much as i can about BTC, Mining Altcoins and so forth... However I Just ordered up a bunch of stuff to start a small mining project something to build on over time. However i have one big question that i cant seem to answer... Maybe its a lot simpler then i realize. (P.S. I don't know a lot about computers, or making changes in bios... although i am willing to take on the challenge and willing to learn. Haha.)

But here is my question, I ordered up the ASUS PRIME Z270-A MOBO and a EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti iCX GAMING GPU... I see a lot of people saying how they cant get their ASUS PRIME Z270-A Motherboards to find more then say 4 GPU's on avg. without running threw hoops to get it solved. They also mention that you should change the following in Bios When running 6 or more GPU's

Set PCIe to GEN2
Enable Allow 4G Decoding
Set m.2 slot to PCIe for GPU 7 and 8 (P)/8 and 9 (A/AR)
Disable Audio
Disable Serial Port
Disable unused USB ports (not KB, Mouse, USB OS)
Disable unused SATA ports (not OS SATA)
Change boot graphics from Automatic / PCIe to CPU IGP

Are all those changes still recommended for only running one or even maybe up too three 1080 TI's? Everything i find online is for basically 6 or more GPU's on that motherboard. I just want to make sure i set it up correctly when it comes time.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me on this! Really appreciate it!
