Hi guys,

Thanks for the feedback.

What I meant was for mining to be done on separate GPUs. Let's say if I have 2 x Vega 56. Will it cause any problems if I choose to use GPU1 to mine XMR and GPU2 to mine ETH?

No, it won't cause any problems but as the profitability goes, mining XMR on Vega 56 is so lucrative and it's more than twice the earnings compared to mining ETH.

XMR and ETH use different mining algorithms. If you are only using one (1) GPU you can technically run two instances of seperate XMR and ETH miners, BUT it will not be efficient.

Unless you specifically set GPU INTENSITY or ALLOCATION to 50% your hashrate will not simply be divided by 2. The XMR and ETH miner will be competing for your GPU's resources and you will most likely encounter problems with stability (crashing miner).

Trying to mine both XMR and ETH simultaneously on same GPU?
Of course you can do it by running two different miner program, but gpu resources will be separated and you'll get only half of hashrates on each coin.

Thanks for the info.

Will it cause problems if I use Vega 56 only but try to mine both XMR and ETH? From what you mentioned it seems like it will cause some technical issue?

You have to take an approach of going with mixed GPUs if you want to miner XMR and ETH at the same time.

For example, 3x RX580 and 3x Vega 56.
Using Claymore 10.0, dual mining ETH and second coin with 3x RX580 and using optimal settings XMR stack mining XMR with 3x Vega 56. Windows 10 will be able to run dual instances of both miner without any issues.
Just a note, go with a little powerful CPU to handle both instances without any issues.

Hi all. Was thinking of expanding my mining rig to include a new rig for mining both xmr and eth using Vega 56.

Do you guys know if there'll be any technical issues for mining both at the same time on the same rig?

Was also wondering if the optimal Vega 56 settings that work for XMR will also work for ETH. If not then it may be sub optimal to mine both..

Thanks for any feedback.
