It's personal
His last two bond films (Octopussy and A View to a Kill) were perhaps his best. I am not a big fan of 007. But I liked the acting of lead performers such as Roger Moore and Daniel Craig.

I remember how impressed I was with Octopussy, taking the bus into the city to go watch the Bond movie in 1983, one of the first couple movies I saw on the big screen as a kid.

@Sithara  I think you might not be a fan of Bond, but maybe you are of 007?

Unfortunately Sir Moore will not be resting in peace (RIP), since he is no more.Sad

I love Roger Moore. One of the best James Bond actors and he made 2 of my favorite moves, Live and Let Die and Moonraker. Two of the best bond films.

He also wrote content for Dungeons and Dragons. So cool he was. Its a sad day but this happens to us all.

Thank you Roger for everything you have done for us.

Rest in peace agent 007! He'll always be one of the best topped only by the man himself Sean Connery. After Moore the whole series went into a downward spiral of decline. These movies used to have charismatic lead actors and be cheesy lighthearted fun. Neither Pierce Brosnan nor Daniel Craig are good enough and the movies started taking themselves way too seriously especially in the past decade.

I don't like films about agent 007. To me they seem primitive, but they were removed in the last century and perhaps this is due to a conflict of generations, but I'm sorry that he died talented actor. So quietly the era. It is very sad to realize that we are not eternal.

Roger Moore is one of the best actor that I look at especially at his role as James Bond. It was not only me and my family who was carried away by his acting but the whole world. Its a sad story that he has passed away but his memories will stay in the world of hollywood and he will be remembered forever. May he rest in peace and condolence to his family.

I remember watching him as the saint when i was a kid. It was a sketchy series, just as the majority from that period, still it was very entertaining for a 10 yo

I was hooked up on that show as a kid as well. And he was mine all time best James Bond, I love humor he brought with him becoming 007

Sad news, he will be always remembered from 007 movies. Probably, he was most famous and legendary James Bond.
But life goes very fast. Sir Roger Moore died being 89 years old and he had cancer which was the reason of death. Anyway, he had amazing life.
Well since Aaron Ramsay scored three wad bound to be a major casualty in the world of three famous people and unfortunately it was Sir Roger Moore.
Yeah, many celebrities died after Aaron Ramsey goals: Whitney Houston, Osama bin Laden, Muammar Gaddafi and etc. I thought this curse already ended, but looks that not yet...

RIP. I'll probably have to look him up. Out of all the movies mentioned, only Octopussy (was that the one with the blue-ringed octopus?) and The Spy Who Loved me sounded familiar. I might have watched some of this on TV as young kid.

RIP, I have watched a few of his movies and they were worthy of my time.

Only the good memories and our good deeds will remain, could you imagine any one telling some good things about Hitler? no all everyone will always remember and talk is how bad and genocidal he was.

Sir Roger Moore, the actor who played James Bond in seven 007 films, has died at 89.

His children, Deborah, Geoffrey and Christian, released a statement on Twitter saying that Moore passed away Tuesday in Switzerland after a "short but brave battle with cancer."

Moore's children tweeted the statement saying, "We are all devastated."

"The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone," they said in the statement. "We know our own love and admiration will be magnified many times over, across the world, by people who knew him for his films, his television shows and his passionate work for Unicef, which he considered to be his greatest achievement." Moore was a UNICEF ambassador.

Moore started his Bond career in 1973's "Live and Let Die," and he starred in some of the franchise's most famous films, like "Octopussy" and "The Spy Who Loved Me." Moore's last movie as the intelligence agent was "A View to Kill" in 1985. Before his Bond roles, Moore starred in TV shows "The Persuaders!" and "The Saint."

Moore's career was still active; he voiced several upcoming projects like children's movie "Troll Hunters."
