So I was quite surprised to find my just launched site, blockchain-reaction.com has been taken down twice now by DDOS attack.
I was just wondering how common this is and thought it might be productive to identify commonalities between attacks on different sites, so that certain IPs, or ranges could be blocked ahead of time when a new site launches, to aid site developers in terms of information.
Lets not turn this into an mud-slinging match, though - lets keep accusations at bay.

- How long did it take your site after launch to come under attack?
- How frequently do you come under attack now that you're launched?
- Have you identified any particular IP, or range which perpetrated the attack?
- Do you have any recommendations for the new site owner looking to launch imminently?

Before we moved to cloudflare and upgraded our servers, we were under attack and not able to accept traffic for about 36 hours. Blocking IPs using IPtables wasn't really working as the amount of traffic coming in was very significant!
Nowadays we come under attack roughly once a week, but because of cloudflare and our increased server capacity - it's not noticeable to us (outside the alerts for high network traffic in).
Get cloudflare, it's relatively cheap and works wonders.
Same thing, some noobs try and DDOS but my protection is into effect now.
