Most of the people on this forum prefer preev dot com for the price of bitcoin as well as litecoin. However, the price of bitcoin is quite volatile so it can reach up to precision but not perfection. The only drawback is it shows limited list of cryptocurrencies in which there is hardly more than two of those in your list.

Yep I always prefer to use preev.com for checking bitcoins price. But if you want a website that gives an accurate price. I guess you won't see any of them, most of them have their standards and adjustable price so if you want to look so. Just depend on where you will be good, high for selling and low for buying.

Prices of coins are very volatile so it's hard to find the real prices on sites because some of them do updates just every hour. I always use marketcap and it's very reliable for me because it has the direct exchange link of a specific coin.

Does anyone know what is the preferred site for checking prices for bitcoin, eth, litecoin, monero, waves, zcash and all the other coins?

For btc, i use btc to usd on google.  But there is also coinbase, kraken, bitstamp and many others.

With eth, there is https://ethereumprice.org/.

I also saw coinmarketcap and worldcoinindex.  However, the numbers are pretty off by a good amount in these 2 sites.

There is also www.coingecko.com

Which is the site that should be used as the number 1 or 2 site to check coin prices?

All exchanges have different rates and that is the usual thing since it's about business.

If your coin was being traded on a certain exchange site, then follow the price there obviously and don't mind other sites since your future trades will only be revolved around that exchange. If just for , you want to know the average price then google is enough for bitcoins and for altcoins you can used any.

You can't find a site with accurate prices because exchanges don't have same prices too. Coinmarketcap don't display the real price because it just get the information to the exchanges where the coin is listed. If you want to do arbitrage, you have to visit different exchanges to do it.

There is no need to check all exchanges. You can use coinmarketcap. For accurate prices you should click on ''Markets'' tab after going to a special coin page. I have checked the prices several times. The prices update every 5 minutes and are accurate.

i prefer the exchange itself not a third party, they all have delays and they may even give me wrong price information! and besides when i invest in altcoins with high risk such as ethereum i always want to place a lot of alerts and stop losses, ... because they fall pretty hard during the dumps that they always have.

of course that depends on your purpose too. as a trader you want live price. but as someone to just know the average price of something even using google is more than enough.

Every exchanger site or price listing will have versatile price list. The difference however not so big, you can use nay of them and try to stick to any one of them. Im guessing you will be toking for price to make your buy and sell call to invest into these coins. Its better you fix your own trusted site and start considering is price as standard one.

For me I use livecoin as preferred site where I trade, exchange, gift and swift the coins with th given price on the same site. :-)

Exchanges are the only place with real info. Each has their own price and they quote it in real time. The real issue is finding an average which is hard to do accurately. If you could pick up prices from each exchange in real time, that'd IMO be better depending on your needs.

I am using coincap from my ios device as i find it is the best in ios even its giving almost accurate price every second without relaunching the app . Its quite decent for trading and keep analysing the coin.

You can use blockfolio app for live update of prices of coins you want to watch. There is also an option there where you can chance the desired exchange you want to monitor its price.

https://cryptowat.ch/

That gives you a lot of the information about the latest price of every coin. And you will be able to see what was happening with the market and the chart with it. It will be useful for you because the coingecko is not updating the price in short time. I mean the interval is too long.

Just check that site and happy with your trade.  Wink
