IcoBench and the other ICO rating sites are worthless. They give good ratings to those projects that pay with BTC or ETH for it.

For newbies I would recommend bookmarking the exchanges, this way they can check if they are trying to log in to the right side. In the past I saw a few phishing sites that looked exactly like a big exchanges site (for example Binance), but there was a little difference in the URL. For example Binance and Biṇance might seem the same, but if you look closely there is a small dot under the ṇ. If someone tried to log in to these phishing sites, they gave away their username and password! So stay safe and never click on links from suspicious sources and always check the URL!

additionally MEW has enough information for gas prices that they don't need #3
I don't get it why they keep checking the gas station when MEW have it already. With the default gas limit of 21,000 thus it's automatically adjusted on the amount of coins you're sending, and all you have to do is click the send transaction. Simple.

Maybe what OP meant is to bookmark those sites for their future reference, though ico ratings won't help through this since those guys were just being paid. So for the meantime, beginner should read a lot instead of bothering these sites.

1. COINMARKETCAP

Coingecko is a nice alternative if you're looking for a more personalized user experience where you can add/remove and organize coins on your dashboard.

7. COINBASE

Gemini is a great exchange as well if you're looking to convert fiat to crypto or vice versa. They also launched their own stablecoin!

8. MYETHERWALLET

Metamask is also a great wallet for sending and receiving tokens. It may not be as feature rich as its counterpart but if you're just looking to send some crypto and with added decimal control of the gas fee makes this wallet a great alternative.

3. ETH GAS STATION
-ETH Gas Station aims to increase the transparency of gas prices, transaction confirmation times, and miner policies on the Ethereum network. The long term success of Ethereum depends on a healthy and efficient market for the price of gas. We hope this site will help people get the best gas price.

Kudos for mentioning Gas Station. I suggest checking gas price every time you do ETH transaction and setting the value of 1-2 Gwei higher than Gas Price Std (Gwei), otherwise the transaction may take way too long to proceed.

Mostly it's good websites, but as pooya87 said it's not must have in bookmarks.
1. Coinmarketcap is a great tool to track prices. But they have one disadvantage - they are advertising scams. You can mention some alternatives like Cryptocompare and some others.
2. Coindesk is one of the most popular crypto news websites, but I don't think that we should stick with particular website only. To get better view it's better to use multiple websites.
3. Good one, but only if you have some ETH.
4. Must have for these people who have ETH, invest in ICO or participating in bounties.
5. I'm not using this website, but my website - don't believe blindly what is written here and always use your brains when investing in ICO's. Or better stay away from it Cheesy
6. Big no. Why you're suggesting to use this exchange exactly? Especially when it works in limited number of countries, for example they still didn't enabled trading in my country. There are many better exchanges. And most important thing - don't use Coinbase as your wallet.
7. If you have ETH and tokens, MEW is a must to bookmark, and access it only from your bookmarks. There are so many phishing MEW links, you should be very careful with it. And my suggestion - use Metamask with MyEtherWallet.
P.S OP, you lost number 5 in your listing Wink

none of these websites are "must have" for a beginner!
1. a newbie doesn't need coinmarketcap and they shouldn't even bother looking at a list that they don't even understand!
2. i'll give you coindesk because they also have some good articles for educational purposes like "what is bitcoin and how does it work" ,...
3+4+8. are only needed if they have ethereum. otherwise there is no need for any of them and newcomers don't usually have any ethereum or want to have it. additionally MEW has enough information for gas prices that they don't need #3
6. this is just a big NO. in fact i'd warn beginners to stay away from ICOs but you are encouraging them to engage in ICOs and worst of all do it using a biased website mostly advertising ICOs and possibly getting paid to do it.

Thank you very much for the comprehensive list! In my opinion airdropalert.com and bountyhive/bounty0x/... are missing. Most of those newly registrated users made their first experiences with cryptos via bounties and airdrops ;-)

take note that this is a Beginners & Help subforum under the Bitcoin Forum section. This might not be the right subforum for ICO and ETH related sites.

Since there is no subforum available for beginners in Altcoin section, this seems to be the right place for them as well. As long as there isn't a sub-board with the name "Beginners & Help (Altcoins)", such threads/topics has to be placed in this board.

While the links you've listed can indeed be helpful for some people, take note that this is a Beginners & Help subforum under the Bitcoin Forum section. This might not be the right subforum for ICO and ETH related sites.
