This application isn't really about investing in "Bitcoin" as the topic says. Bitcoin has only been mentioned once in the whole offering and that too to make the distinction that it is not the only Digital asset.

The company basically wants to be able to invest in all the Digital assets that are taking shape. Most investments in these areas are currently VC investments or former crypto millionaires backing other projects. The more these "Investment funds" strive to invest in the Digital assets, the clearer it becomes that crypto is going mainstream. Bitcoin is still at the base of it all but it is definitely not the only thing. Whether this survives long term or not is the million dollar question.

Investing in Bitcoin is the future trend. When Tianqiao Capital began to invest in Bitcoin, it shows that more and more companies are beginning to recognize Bitcoin and start investing in Bitcoin on a large scale. This is exciting because here In this case, the price of Bitcoin is very likely to rise rapidly, and many latecomers will rush into the cryptocurrency to buy Bitcoin!

SkyBridge Capital has raised $100 million in a fund focused on the Algorithand blockchain. This was announced in an interview with CNBC by its founder Anthony Scaramucci, the volume of crypto assets under the management of SkyBridge Capital reached $700 million.
"Cryptocurrencies will take root. It's like with Uber. The authorities were against such a business, but society prevailed. In the United States, 200 million users of cryptocurrencies will soon be reached, " Scaramucci said.

Again, this is another good news that might push the price to new all time high next year if this amendment is allowed by SEC.

Lol! No! More and more of these institutional investors are actually running the bitcoin ecosystem which is supposed to be decentralized. But with these deep pocket investments, bitcoin is becoming more prone to manipulation. Didn't we see Elon's incident? Then why we are cheering when big institutional investors are jumping into bitcoin bandwagon??

There's no reason to cheer at all. Bitcoin has enough demand in the market and we certainly don't need some deep-pocket institutions to increase the demand. More and more institutional investors should not invest here in bitcoin. They should stay with the traditional financial assets.

The wheels of government move slowly. I really cannot see them denying the request as they have granted permission to other funds.
So, unless there is something glaringly different about them I see it happening by the end of the year.

As with all things that discuss investments, this opinion is just mine. DYOR.

The SEC has extended the deadline for reviewing SkyBridge Capital's application to launch a bitcoin ETF until August 25, 2021. The listing of the shares was planned to be held on the NYSE. The Securities Commission considered it appropriate to postpone the decision-making period so that it "has enough time to consider the proposal and the feedback received." https://www.sec.gov/rules/sro/nysearca/2021/34-92333.pdf

So the trend continues...

What started with Snappa, is now slowly becoming a corporate phenomena! More and more companies are showing interest in bitcoin while the global trade is slowing down due to recession! Hedge funds are really intending to hedge against the current economic slowdown and bitcoin seems like the best hedge instrument worldwide!

I don't know how Skybridge's news came out in light, but there should be more companies waiting to join the bandwagon!
As hedge fund company with billions around, perhaps they are looking at bitcoin at the rest of crypto before the whole trend started. And obviously, they have seen bitcoin as a good hedge, even us average joe have been dabbing on bitcoin as store of value, hedge in the worst economic conditions and the covid-19 make it more pronounced though. So no surprise  and a good decision from Skybridge.

Is Skybridge Capital a semi government company.

Nope. Their founder worked for the White House for like 10 days though lol.

Why can't it make a move investing on bitcoin.

They mostly deal with hedge funds and are required by law to disclose information about their trades and portfolios to the SEC, so they can't unilaterally invest.

Though this will positively affect bitcoins growth in terms of price. But what will happen if there will come a time after they put their money in bitcoin and bearish market will come into place again? Normally that some of the late entrants are susceptible to a much higher risk of getting burned especially they are holding other people's money that would add another strain on their end.

Not your keys, not your coins!
Skybridge Capital will join the trend of institutional investment next year after they got the amendment from SEC. They will be appeared in Bitcoin Treasuries and they will contribute to those bubbles in 2021. If the trend continues (that I believe it will do), the chart will be filled with bubbles.

Is Skybridge Capital a semi government company. Why can't it make a move investing on bitcoin. It is found that Skybridge Capital is a capital investment company that provides multi-strategy in hedge funds. Anyhow the investment plan itself makes some impact on the market. SEC authorising to invest won't happen in the near future.

Another global investment firm, Skybridge Capital filed an amendment last November 13,2020 to SEC allowing their $3.6 billion fund to start investing in BTC.

Digital Assets. Investment Funds may hold long and short positions in digital assets. Digital assets (also known as “virtual currencies,” “cryptocurrencies,” “coins” or “tokens” or similar terms) are assets that are issued and/or transferred using technological innovations such as distributed ledger or blockchain technology and include, but are not limited to, Bitcoin. Digital assets have no intrinsic value other than as a method of exchange and are not based on a tangible commodity, security, contractual right or legal obligation. Digital assets have limited history and typically are not issued or backed by any government, bank or central organization. Over their short history, digital assets have experienced tremendous price volatility compared to traditional asset classes, and may experience significant illiquidity in stressed market conditions. The values of digital assets should not be expected to be connected or correlated to traditional economic or market forces, and the value of the investments of Investment Funds in digital assets could decline rapidly, including to zero. An Investment Manager may pursue a variety of investment strategies in managing digital assets of an Investment Fund, and the Company may invest in Investment Funds that provide access to a particular digital asset or assets without a discretionary investment strategy. Investment Funds may invest in digital assets without restriction as to market capitalization or technological features or attributes (including lesser-known or novel digital assets known as “altcoins”) and may invest in initial coin offerings, which have historically been subject to fraud.

More and more of these hedge fund companies are rushing in and join the bandwagon and definitely not the last and this could be the trend in 2021.

Again, this is another good news that might push the price to new all time high next year if this amendment is allowed by SEC.
