If openCL is so open, why can't it be included in the open source drivers?

Sucks for mining, but good for those of us that run htpc's though... that bloody catalyst is a monster!

This the open-source version of the drivers - most of us are probably using the Catalyst version. I've never tried hashing with the open source version - maybe there is a good reason...
Now with the new open source version you can under/over volt. That right there makes it worth looking at.

Besides numerous patches you can now control card voltage in Linux.
