I believe OP was the target here and this PM was on purpose which i believe to be more likely for scam, don't be surprised that those that knew you were the ones that put this trick up to cook your unfavourite dish just to got you if that may serve as weakpoint, next time you receives anything related then it will be good never to hesitate making a report to the moderator for proper actions and ignore the user.

You're lucky! I'm jealous  Cheesy

LOL.  I clicked here hoping someone would make a joke.  As for my contribution...  Prove it with the images/link philipma1957 or it didn't happen!  Smiley

More seriously though, I get all sorts of crazy PMs all the time from newbies.  It's best to just add them to the blocked PM list and ignore them.  Mine is quite substantial.  Calling out bad behavior like this on this forum is how you end up with psychos trolling you for the rest of your life here because you called out their alt account scams...  Some people are batshit crazy and they can masquerade around here like normal users.

Not sure if I was only target.

It's possible, man. Due to your massive activity on the forum and WO, you are not anonymous. People know your email and probably know your address. Most important, they know that you are a Bitcoin Miner. Since you are a miner and early adopter of Bitcoin, they may expect that you have vast amounts of money in your Bitcoin wallet, and they want to target you with phishing links or a kind of trojan or whatever virus.

I guess it's not just an advertisement. People use social media or messengers like Telegram to spread their content. I don't think people will use forum accounts just for advertising. You were a target; I am glad you did not fall for that.

Suggest to others: You don't have to check the link.

These  spam messages have found themselves on the forum how odd, expected this to be email targeted especially on Gmail..

Btw, If you are going to state the obvious then something is fishy out here... For starters anybody who's going to go by the name of Emily while also insisting on telling the world you are female  Tongue Sorry definitely a red flag and potentially the user behind this name is Male!

This ain't new anymore, prolly an old way of luring a lustfully minded fellow into losing 'em coins for someone that's not even the rightful gender you thought about....alot are happening, but this one is an old idea IMHO.
Philipma, you did the right thing to have reported 'em links and pms to the admin so they could get booked. What baffles me the most is how someone gets registered in here, pays the evil fees and everything, just without any major motive than to scam peeps in here ?? I wonder..Let's be watchful out there guys..

Out of curiosity, I visited the "dating" site, and they ask for some info about you (Social engineering) and then probably link you to a profile of someone as a "beautiful woman" who will try to scam you afterward.
So let's seal that you have no chance for nomination in the next bitcointalk award Miss Bitcointalk category from me 🤣
These Beautiful women are pimps.

@philipma1957, I can confirm I did not receive any such message. It's hard to know the motive but may be someone indeed wants you to check their hot girls LOL. God knows what are you doing these days online 🤣

Sorry to disappoint you, but I also visited the site and I must admit I'm disappointed that I'm not receiving such generous offers. Well, I got a WhatsApp number of a beautiful girl 2miles away from me and yes, I know I'm going to get scammed, but believe me, I'm going to waste both of our lives talking shit.

Such messages are sent to email mostly in the spam box. I really don't how those dudes normally get people's email address to send those messages. .
It is very simple; blogs, dating sites, newsletters, forums, and CEX where you enter your email address and personal information are selling these databases on the black market.

It's not even that complicated it's just a spam ad with a Whitelabel page with different intros and clips, the so-called inquiries are just to make it look like they really care about who you are and they have an actual female on that entire website, I've seen those ads before and a few years ago I even helped one friend to install their flash popups on his blogs.
The main company behind this is flirt(dot)com and the guy spamming is just earning from refferal through his affiliate program, the giveaway is in the blocked page ublock showed,

Quote
*tds/ae?tds_campaign=s3770yal&tdsId=s3770yal_r&s1=int&utm_source=int

So he probably thought the could spam the entire forum with his links and maybe earn $30-50 from a paying customer.

If he wanted to do a social engineering attack and especially target Philip he would have said he is selling mining gear or has a deal in solar panels, far better chances to catch him with that  Grin Grin

In the forum it is better to report them for ban anytime when such nonsense is sent to pm, and let the mod. take the necessary action to ban the fool account. That spam is not even a female, it is a guy behind the scene to scam people. That is one the ways these scammers are using to defraud people in the internet. Since we have known their tricks, we should be careful. Those links are not even advise to click because most of them are infected with viruses. Stay safe.

It is easy to report against one account but when multiple accounts are opened for such activities it will be difficult to tackle them so Theymos should take some steps that no newbie can share any link like posting an image with a newbie account.  does not show.

These are not only female jobs, many male also open accounts using a name of girls and promote such like to promote their affiliate or CPA links. And hackers also promote many phishing links in the form of adult content links. So beware of this and keep yourself safe. Such messages are constantly available on Telegram. So I stopped using Telegram  Undecided

My emails have told me hundreds of times about btc eth due to me

 Blah blah blah
My guy sends me 0.7495 BTC urgently Cheesy They don't seem to realize sending the same email many times in a row makes it even more obvious it's a scam.

Look... I've never been asked to send BTC to anyone. I'm feeling left out.  Cry  Cool

This is the typical spam that I've received by email thousands of times. They won't get large numbers of messages on Bitcointalk. It doesn't look like targeted spam either, the link leads to paiatialdates.new and claims Alessandra lives 3 miles away from my Tor browser Cheesy

Lucky you. all I get in my spam in box is mails urging me to access some account to claim 0.698845BTC that I did not know I had, messages from wallet providers (of wallets I do not own) telling me to "update" my wallet or my funds would get lost and extremely profitable business offers from people I have never had the pleasure to talk before in my life.

It would not hurt to get some curvy women trying to scam me, for a change, before I clean my box.

I didn't get it from him or from other users. Even newbie never got permission to PM me because I prevented it with blue tick not activated, so how about you? Or maybe you will prevent it too after this?

Newbie with bad intention can send PMs to anyone they target, including well-known users like you. They can even deliver much more dangerous malware for security. So consider that blue tick not enabled in your private message settings.

Anyone that block newbies is allowed to do so.

So consider that blue tick not enabled in your private message settings.

I think this is the default setting regarding every forum user's private message option, and in most cases it is not enabled by users because they don't want to get PM's from newbies. Every user has a reason why they don't want to enable it, and that's fine.

What I find most incredible about this type of spam is that the fact that it still exists today means that many people still fall for this scam!
I think it's a combination of (sexual) desperation, gullibility and naivety. Even if only 0.001% of the people who receive the (email) spam fall for it, it's still profitable for the scammers.

I think this person is on the wrong platform, bitcointalk is not a fertile ground for his tricks.
I guess you weren't around when alia was active Grin

Desperation is the key 🔑.

If you are a guy and have been in a good space for years with your woman this type of pm is pretty much no threat.

But if you have had a breakup and are lonely you may say maybe I could get lucky.

So is this person sends out 1000 of these and gets a few replies it is worth doing.

Please note since I phrased this from my viewpoint it is not a reflection on any other style of sex life that you have.

But if you are in a good space you laugh at these pms.

And if you sex life is not working you may try it.

This is suspicious, and I think you have been on a target for long who knows if this user want to link you on a phishing site. Just imagine someone creating a new account yesterday same time sent out a private messages to you to rate her naked body. Why must it be you alone why not other users here, just take a good look at me I haven't received such pm before. Lols.

Anyway just be careful and don't click to such link because scammers always believed not all men that hardly resist nude pictures at which whenever you clicked on the link you are automatically being piped and instantly extract your information from your browser. Its mostly common with those who do Auto save password on their browsers.

It's something similar what I often get to my email and Facebook Messenger. Scammers are using every possible platform for these kind of messages. Bitcointalk isn't exception.

It’s a trap Emilly is not 25 but 30. “hotgirl93” that means 1993 and that makes her 30 not 25.

I can't understand, how a person receive a message from a stranger making proposals that are also strange, and people believe it.

I am always amazed when I hear these reports.

Some persons visit these sex dating sites so when they see this invitation they think it is one of the websites they usually visit, so they end up being scammed. Some persons are not also well informed about this type of scam so they end up learning the hard way from experience. In default, newbie message already get blocked, so I don't see any good reason to allow receive message from a newbie account.
Newbies can have genuine query to ask someone personal and what if theymos or Global mod thought same as you and decided to disable their PMing feature?

These kind of scams are new which exists all over the internet and also there were some in bitcointalk which can be seens in service section but paying money to watch them N*k*d doesn't worth cause we can see them in HD quality for free on many sites. Grin

It's not new, this has always been the reason. But Newbies (unless whitelisted) can only send 2 PMs per day (to reduce spam), and I've received more legitimate PMs than spam. So I'm not blocking Newbies.

I can say when a naked person ask to click to her link, it's obviously scam because the domain name is really suspicious.

There are a lot platforms where she can use it to sell her naked pictures or videos e.g. onlyfans, pornhub, private telegram, private twitter etc. Honestly there are a lot users in twitter where they're genuine asking to rate her naked photos by directly send her photos.

Out of curiosity, I visited the "dating" site, and they ask for some info about you (Social engineering) and then probably link you to a profile of someone as a "beautiful woman" who will try to scam you afterward.

It is  very possible, this is a forum about Bitcoin, a forum mostly about digital money.
But for your theory to get some more strength  I would have expected to see that newbie account (and other accounts) to spam more members, specially those who participate in sections like Gambling and Trading, where one can find people who obviously have some money.

Let us see if more people appear with the same or similar PM to show, otherwise this might be a very targeted scam attempt against philipma1957.

Looks like emily just really want to get rated by philipma and from others on different sites that's why she spammed the internet.
I found lots of sites (at least 10) posted with the link searching in google, also the url directs to other sites looks like it is referral link or something.
