Hello all,

I have a couple of Nvidia G1080 cards and a MSI Z170 motherboard with 7 slots, and the hashing rate decrease significantly when I use a riser cable. When I plug the card directly in the PCI slot, then it hashes at full speed. Does anybody know of a solution?

so much info missing.

so  do you use shit risers or good risers?

do you know the difference?

what is your psu? exact make and model

msi make more then 10 z170 mobos which one.

do you use linux or windows?

also what is a couple of cards 2?  which it should be two.

what are the cards you use?

here is one answer is for the risers
good  and you can fully bypass the sata to 6 pin just use a six pin pcie cable

shit
https://www.amazon.com/6-Pack-PCI-E-Powered-Adapter-Extension/dp/B01N3UVJHM/ref=sr_1_1? do not use them.

lastly  are you crazy and feed tons of power to the card.

you should use msi afterburner  and set to 70% power.

since I do not know what you mine I can not give more settings.

What algo?

I mined over 40 algos on nvidia over the years and only one algo was slower on a riser due to 1x PCIE speed and I can't even remember which one was that so you likely have another issue.
