Did you try and send a single satoshi to btcjam? Smiley

No, alas I didn't think I needed to try that.  I most definitely will be doing that from now on when I'm trying to transfer coins.

BTCjam should show unconfirmed coins right away....

It isn't, however, and neither is the transaction showing up on the blockchain as far as I can tell.  The only place it has shown up is on my Mt.Gox account and the coins have been removed.
If coins are shown missing from your MtGox account, and they aren't showing up in the blockchain, I'd contact MtGox.  BTCjam isn't going to show the coins if they haven't hit the blockchain yet.  MtGox should be able to help you with this.

Okay, thank you. They said that there does seem to be something wrong with the withdrawal and that it shouldn't take so long, so hopefully it'll be resolved soon. Smiley

if it doesn't start showing up in the blockchain, when should I start worrying about where they went, and what can I possibly do about it?

You can post your issue in the main BTCJam thread:

BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending
 - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-btcjam-peer-to-peer-bitcoin-lending-112447

There's also a support forum using UserVoice:

MtGox didn't list any transaction fees, and I elected not to pay the 0.005 fee considering that's roughly half of what I've sent total.

If you are sending from Mt. Gox and the recipient's address is a Mt. Gox account, then the transaction won't hit the blockchain.  You can force this to occur by marking the checkbox "Open Transaction".

I don't know that the recipient is a Mt. Gox account, I'm just describing one reason why a payment sent as a withdrawal from Mt. Gox wouldh't appear in the blockchain.

Yeah, I don't believe that BTCJam is connected with Mt.Gox, but I could be wrong.  In any case, that's still good to know.  I did click that for the second transaction, but for the first I didn't click that, the Green Address on, or the .005 BTC fee.

EDIT: So, I figure I'll give it a few days at the very least, but if it doesn't start showing up in the blockchain, when should I start worrying about where they went, and what can I possibly do about it?

Thank you for the advice.  Neither transaction ID gave a result via that method, they were only in the last ~24 hours so I'm hoping it's just a delay of some sort.

My apologies if this is such a noobish question too. Thanks again for answering.  Smiley

I've tried to transfer some coins to BTCJam twice now, and they don't seem to show up, I know that it says it can take hours to days, and in the FAQ in the 'Look Here Topic' gives a link to the Bitcoin block explorer saying that they should appear there. When I do that, however, only the address being sent from lists any transactions, the address I sent to doesn't show anything, nor does anything show up when I search the transaction ID.

So now I'm curious, is there an amount that is too small to send and gets eaten up? MtGox didn't list any transaction fees, and I elected not to pay the 0.005 fee considering that's roughly half of what I've sent total.

I don't know about MT.GOX, but in generall there is no amount to small to send. Do you have the transaction ID. Searching does often not work so good in blockchain. Try to put in direcktly in your browser:

http://blockchain.info/tx/your transaction ID

if it doesn't show up there, then there is no transaction (reported to blockchain.info) yet.
