Other threads here have beyond reasonable doubt they are exit-scamming:

All people are advised to ignore their Telegram announcement and are advised to avoid using SmartMixer otherwise you will probably get scammed and lose all of your Bitcoin.

They did not state in their Telegram announcement they allegedly suffered a DDoS attack mentioned it to a user they stole 10 BTC from: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53883886

The site appears to be operating normally, though it's a bit suspicious that their ANN thread was recently locked.

Their local ANN thread (which was created just 2 days ago) is also locked. Not sure what the reason is, probably an update on their design. But who knows.

If OP can give more info it would be good.

Their last message is about them having to fight off a DDOS attack so this would explain why they're down. If the attack appeared before the weekend it's even more likely they won't be able to get it fixed before Monday.

There's no proof that their database was leaked. Many times people were trying to scam buyers who wanted to obtain leaked data. Trading with thieves is always a bad idea.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.
Hello, i have noticed smartmixer.io has been down for a few days due to ddos. I came across a user on a popular dark net market site that is selling smartmixer.io code and claims there isn't enough coins to "mix" in there wallet . How true is this and should i stop using smartmixer.io?

also smartmixer.io has been showing 403 Forbidden all morning.
You're imagining things, ddos itself can't hack the servers database, it just clogged the sites traffic and get down.
Also there are lots of alternative to use than smartmixer, I suggest you to use them instead.

The site notified that they were under DDOS attack. If you trust the site you can continue mixing the coins and it all depends upon your discretion as mentioned by hugeblack and how on earth does the hacker know about their cold wallet details.

The site is functioning and active right now for me.

I am also able to access the site but I would not use it for mixing in the period where there is a fud of hack. I do not want my funds to be handed over the hackers and why would we use this site when there are other trusted mixers sites available. Let the situation settle down and then I will decide if I should try smartmixer or not.

A good mixer wouldn't keep any logs that could identify users or transactions. Even if they did, what else would be in that Db that could be of value? Any specific vulnerabilities of this specific mixer that would contain information of any value?
If it's true {which seems not to be} then a Data Base of a mixer would contain random information of logs, letters of guarantee, sessions IDs, and even IPs. But any mixer is  supposed not to save those data or even run servers.
Only governments and institutions fighting money laundering would be interested in that Data Base as they can trace logs and addresses but this is far to purchase it from dark web marketplace.
I doubt if it's true to find such a strange offer as vendor should be conscious about potential customers for his product. Why would anybody purchase a hacked data base of any mixer?
I agree that op is either trolling or spreading faud .

So, what would that Db consist of?

Worst case scenario? Session logs and letters of guarantee. They supposedly don't log, but you never know.

Are we sure it's not a scam darknet listing?

Could be. We don't even know if the listing really exists. The OP was pretty vague.

OP is a little conflicting as the title talks about a Db and the content of the website source. Even if true, maybe the darknet market listing could be a troll.

Do you have any proofs for your post? Some screenshots or anything else? The website is currently working for me, but I haven't used their mixing service during the past week.

But currently the page is available!?

And the problem with the too small wallets has already been solved in another thread. Maybe it's all just coincidence. But if you are unsure, you should use an alternative mixer Smiley

Exactly this. If you're unsure, just use a different mixing service.

LeGaulois recently posted an awesome overview with all the mixing services around: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/2023-list-bitcoin-mixers-bitcoin-tumblers-websites-2827109
It also states which services to avoid.

I have no idea where you got this information from, because when you try to access the site everything works fine. It looks more like you are distributing FUD.
If you really saw the website database for sale on the darknet, please provide evidence in the form of screenshots or links to the sale.
Yeah it works on mee too, everything on their website seems to be pretty safe and secured not until when I try to type smartmixer.io, google suggested the DDOS attacked on the service which really affects its operation. I guess this is true, smartmixer stopped their campaign, enough to test if this is true or not.

This is too far from spreading FUD or whatnot to manipulate or for his personal interest. Hackers these days are very quick in hacking early staged projects as it is vulnerable and subject for changes.

It is probably best to not use a mixer in the middle of a DDOS or when you are receiving error message when trying to access their site. Once the error messages stop and when the DDOS is over, all else being equal, there isn’t any reason to not use a service you otherwise would be willing to use.

Unless the person on the DN site is offering proof that you can independently verify, I would assume it is unsubstantiated as long as it is a single person on a single site.

Wow, is this true?
I noticed that smartmixer stopped their signature campaign.
I thought that was just a pause to change the strategy, but if is this is true, makes total sense, and it's a shame, I hope this hacker can't sell anything

Mixing services are based on trust. If you do not trust them, do not use their services. There are many services that provide a lot of reliability.
If you use them to hide your id (privacy,) they use Cloudflare, so it is best to think carefully.
With regard to whether they are scammers, until now nothing has been proven, but they have locked their topic and they may turn to scam[1]. If you do not want to gamble, do not try them.
