On the News skit on SNL this weekend they had 'the Devil' on as he was taking credit for many things he said he invented Bitcoin, alongside a bunch of bad stuff.

Amazing in 2021 a joke like that can be made. Shows you just how early we still are when SNL thinks saying Bitcoin is evil will ring true with people.

Not ranting, just like how at a trillion dollars we still get common reminders that we're still in the early days of Bitcoin's growth and acceptance.
I have heard about a lot of people who want to be a satoshi and they have crazy thoughts that they are him, but they don't have any proof to own satoshi wallet we all know satoshi have a private BTC wallet with a large amount of BTC and if those people say they are satoshi then as long as they can use that wallet we will believe that they are the Satoshi of all of us.

OP, if the skit says that the devil invented Bitcoin, then who controls the banks who have always been truly against Bitcoin? Are the bankers the angels who would save society from the “devil’s invention”? Cool

What's more devil than a bank?  Grin

The real devils of the world want you to perceive them as “angels”, the threats to them as “evil”. I believe you have to question everything you were taught since you were a child. From Science to History to Politics to Religion.

Anyhow, this is still publicity to bitcoin, just imagine that a comedy television show has covered bitcoin again.

If I'm not mistaken, this is not the first time they have talk about bitcoin, they even have ehem, Elon Musk to pitch about his Dogecoin like 6 months ago.

An SNL writer might have gotten liquidated.

Deal with these kind of nonsense because the world would always been like this on where there are people who do really ending up on making out some
comparison or naming basing on what they do believe or have things in mind.

Currency or digital things doesnt really connects out on something like devil or something literally in divine stuffs or whatsoever.
They should have applied it on other stuff which is a bit relevant or considerable to be described on.

SNL is about jokes, if they know that a joke is going to get to some people, and stur up some controversy, they make money. They got the attention that they wanted. Another reason why the writing probably involved Bitcoin is because it has been in the news alot recently because of its price. They just say whats what just for a quick buck. No harm done

One of such hype again and bitcoin being the specimen to be dragged on the floor. A skit is a short drama and yes bitcoin is the lead cast at the mercy of some "devil" trying on being the boss. Is laughable that bitcoin will still get this kind of tussle at this time. Craig tried to hype around bitcoin but none has been able to succeed with all that media glamour they are seeking for.

You know how they always say, "Money is the root of all Evil" .... well, guess what... Bitcoin is Money! NOW, if money is the root of all evil, then coins and fiat money and debit cards and credit cards must be evil too... right?

Some people use money for evil things, but the money on it's own is not evil... it is the human greed and the use of that money for evil things that are evil. Let's be real for one moment ...and agree that Bitcoin is a technology that was invented to stop the evil (Banks) ..but the evil humans.. found a way to use it for evil.  Angry Angry Angry

I had to google what the hell SNL is... at least it is a stand up comedy and they are supposed to joke. The other day I was watching a well made spy series and in there they catch a guy guilty of espionage and during interrogation they ask him how was he sending money and he said "I used bitcoin", the funny part was that he didn't even pronounce "bitcoin" right he said something like "bitqueen" and I was laughing my ass off.
In any case this is not the first time they show bitcoin in a negative light like this.

Lol! The funny part is that everyone understands that bitcoin is becoming a true global revolution and everyone wants their share. But people have different ways to achieve it. Craig Wright tried to do legally while SNL is acting funny.

Anyone can claim anything and what we can do is ignore!

Amazing how in 2021 poeple are still getting offended by jokes.

Not ranting, just like how at a trillion dollars we still get common reminders that we're still in the early days of Bitcoin's growth and acceptance.

More importantly, why do you think that would happen?
I have a joke on Bitcoin too but guess what, it takes too much energy to make it!
Do you feel offended by this?

The moment you ask poeple to stop joking about something because you don't like it is the moment that clearly shows you're missing the most important things about it. If in your world of crypto I'm not allowed to make jokes about bitcoin or other coins then you can pack your utopia and go after the inventor of bitcoin. No need to pack a blanket, I heard it's pretty hot down there! Still offended?  Grin

After Craig Wright, I think this guy got infatuated by madness that he is Satoshi. Everybody wants to be Satoshi but how can they be, when they don't have the private keys of his addresses where his coins are saved?

Oh ya, bitcoin is evil, an evil that has become Robinhood for many investors who came in early and have become millionaires now.

I'm totally flabbergasted on why and how you manage to fit in Faketoshi to this topic lmao, even though it's totally unrelated. Remember ladies and gentlemen, we're talking about a Saturday Night Live skit here.

I guess whoever you are talking about meant Sat-shi Nakamot- is the devil? Well, the good thing about transparent open-source project is that it gives devil little opportunity to sneak in evil codes/agenda because of the level of transparency that's required in developing open-source project. Besides, the community participation by diverse Humans makes project development more immune to satanic contributions unlike what is done in secret by select few.  It's counter intuitive assuming this is suggesting that devil created it.

I have no doubt about satanic influence in centralized and opaque currencies though

Bitcoin just disrupts lot of good things happening. without Bitcoin everyone will still be relying to banks and SEC will still be happy not crumbling how to regulate the kind of currency. because of Bitcoin their party is disrupted.

without bitcoin governments and banks will not experience the panic because they could forcibly get money from peoples account easily. BTC is evil, too bad for Joe he ends up inheriting a problem he never thought it will be this big.

Personally, I see no issue with such "jokes"... I'm more amazed that there are certain users who have taken that joke seriously in 2021, and in regards to the latter part, I don't think that was the objective behind the joke in question!

they are really against to bitcoin that's why saying such bad things
It's just a "comedy show"!

I'd love to watch the skit but It seems that it is not posted on their youtube channel. you got any link/website where I could watch it?

We as Bitcoiners should be able to handle a joke or two.
It's funny how some Bitcoiners kinda get butthurt by such joke.
The "money is the root of all evil" cliche will never get old. Some might say that fiat money are created by the devil.I remember a conspiracy theory stating that paper money and fractional reserve banking were created by a bunch of reptiles, who took control over the entire economy and politics of the western world,by controlling the central banks and the fiat money supply. Grin
Even in the Bible,Jesus says that we have to choose between God and Mammon(money/wealth),because we can't serve two masters at once.
Anyway,SNL skits aren't funny anymore. Grin

Consider bad publicity good publicity, people will still recognize Bitcoin but I am sure that the negative mindset towards Bitcoin will change soon as more people are starting to actually invest in Bitcoin.

SNL is a comedy show, I don't think that a lot of people will actually take it seriously, such jokes arent, Bitcoin may be considered as the devil but we don't care since we take profit and gain something while all these boomers do is humor about Bitcoin.  Cool

they are really against to bitcoin that's why saying such bad things is easy for them even though there's a lot of proof how people changed their life because of bitcoin.. Well actually a lot of people and companies saying bitcoin is a bad thing but after all they all suddenly become believer wherein that there's a a good future with bitcoin.  Grin maybe it's a way for them to get more attention as the bitcoin itself breaks all time high again.. No more content for short.. Lol
I only hope that bitcoin users will not think much about people who say bad things about bitcoin and let them say whatever they want. Let them see what will happen to bitcoin and if they see bitcoin price can increase so high, they will only regret it because of their saying and too late to involve in bitcoin. We do not have to give more attention to people like them because that will be a waste of time and it is better to focus on ourselves and achieve our plan one by one. People who say bitcoin is a bad thing will not take part in the bitcoin world instead will regret it.
