I think the Russians have gotten anything and everything out of Snowden about the U.S that they could possible use against them and this is just them dropping him off after they did everything they needed. Plus I think the newest administration (Trump Administration) is going to make a deal with him even after they said about all the harsh punishments they said they'd have done to him.

He's something they could use as an asset against the Russians, even after they did that to us.
What kind of deal you can make with Snowden? All he knew was that he already told the Russians. I don't see any interest in Snowden. Not see the subject of the transaction. Besides, what's Trump more problems?

Trump and CIA Director Mike Pompeo have condemned Snowden in the strongest terms.

'I think he's a total traitor and I would deal with him harshly', said Trump in July.

'And if I were president, Putin would give him over'.

And yet some people refuse to believe that there is more to the Trump/Putin  relationship that meets the eye.  I fear for the world.
Trump will never get along with Putin. If Trump is not an agent of the Kremlin, and I do not believe that they have no common ground. When they promise Syria to fight with ISIS I laugh. ISIS is at war with the Russians, why disturb them?

because snowden protected in Russia
and donald trump is friendship to rusia and putin, so snowden not afraid again about USA

Trump can't do much. Snowden's fate will be decided by the federal courts, and my first impression is that it is going to be very tough for him. There is a chance of Trump pardoning him, but that is a very remote possibility. Trump is not going to risk his reputation and his personal relationship with the GOP legislators, for the sake of Snowden.
I agree with you. Trump is not so strong to run for another scandal. How can he pardon a traitor who was spying in favor of Russia? Russia is another matter. They learned from Snowden all the information and now he does not need them.

We shall just have to wait and see, if Russia thinks he's valuable as a pawn / bartering chip, then they will rapidly hand him over.

It is possible that Trump may offer Snowden a deal, which is mutually beneficial. Trump may pardon Snowden, and in return the latter will pass harmful information on the Clinton crime family to the Republicans.

That is a nice thinking. It is possible that Donald Trump has made up its mind to combat the issues placed against him by Clintons party. The weapon that he will use is the information that he will gather from Snowden to retaliate and counter the destructive efforts of the losing party against his administration. If this is true then we will hear exciting news from the media sooner.
It seems to me that Snowden is a traitor. I don't care what reasons he is motivated, but he has caused America and not only great harm. It cannot be justified by anything. If Trump will do it then and he's a Russian spy.

He's a traitor in someones eyes, in my eyes he's not. Why? Well that whistle blowing may be considered a treason but I'd disagree. Don't get me wrong, whistle blowing is a form of treason for your own government but that same concept of your government having the access into your own personal life is kind of too much. So If I were Trump, I'd pardon Snowden and appoint him as the head of cyber security in the government, he's a genius and would be great to have him on your side.
I am sure that you are from Russia. That's why you're protecting Snowden. From the point of view of the Americans he is a traitor. I am sure that Trump will never agree to pardon this traitor. As if Putin is not offered.

As far I remember, Snowden has a residency permit, which was recently prolonged for the next five years. Thereby he can't be extradited unless he committed some serious crime in Russia, something like mass shooting. Even Putin himself can't do it.

Lol, like there is something that Putin can't do in Russia xD
Looks like we have another victim of MSM in this thread.

Of course Trump can pardon Snowden because they play with him in the same field. On the field Russia. They both betrayed America. Now Trump has no security clearance and after the Snowden pardon is impeachment.

There is a lot of difference between a whistle-blower and a traitor. These two words are not synonymous. Snowden did caused a lot of disrepute to the US. But then, who told the CIA to tap Angela Merkel's phone calls?

It doesn't matter if he is afraid or not. He is just being used as a bargaining chip, Putin hands him to America, Trump looks good and talks about dropping the trillion dollar sanctions against Russia out of "good will". Russia doesn't want whistleblowers either, so it's a win win for them all round.

Edward Snowden tweeted Sunday that he is “not afraid” of being handed over to the U.S. after a report stated that Russia is considering sending the whistleblower to his home country as a “gift” to President Donald Trump.
