I spent 10 minutes earlier on looking for posts to award with merits. The good news is that I found one for a change. The bad news for some of you is that it was a Legendary who made the post. I believe that merit should be awarded for the post, and not because the poster needs merit. The post was in response to a concern that a member had over an alt transaction, and the legendary replied with a couple of reasons for the concern. He also suggested a course of action. There was no reason for the legendary to make that post other than to help the member, and I thought that the community should say thank you by awarding a merit. Obviously he doesn't 'need' any more merits, but that doesn't mean that we can't say thank you for spending time to help someone.

I've just awarded jankeman a merit as well for stating the obvious.

From what I've been checking, it really does seem that there's some sort of agreement around members' merit points: while most members I've seen below 120 activity have only a couple merit points, most that have already reached 120-140 are pretty close to or have already reached 100. The merit sources probably wait until you've reached the activity threshold before starting to invest their smerit in you. But that's just my guess...

Your right, it’s just your guess, and it’s blatantly off the target. That would render the merit pointless as activity would be the key to magically activating merit sources to act as awarding merit bots according to your statement. That is pretty absurd and demeaning for those that have heavily invested time into the forum in a constructive manner and, as a result, may be amongst those that rank-up.

Now days, there is no licit fast track method unless you’re invested into the game.

it's hard to get merit points, but if not a quality post you're doing so others like to rank up they buy their merit because it's really hard to get merit points now especially if the begginer cap on bitcointalk.org really gets you jr members may also have the easy way to get merit ponts.

I do not know why some people just did not post high quality post but got so many merits and i got none.
It's because of posts like this, which are garbage:

mastering bitcoin
I can't even see much of your other posts, because you must post in boards I have on ignore.  My guess is that you haven't earned merit because your posts suck.

Also, you now have negative trust for trying to buy a bitcointalk account, so good luck with that.

It still amazes me how people don't see exactly why they're not getting merited.  Doesn't "lisalise" realize that you can't just post shit like the above and expect people to give up something (merit) which basically has a worth of about $10 on the black market?  It ain't going to happen, buddy.

Really?? 10$ per merit in a black market?? Wow that is huge amount of money man. I hope you can help the forum to catch people who buy and sell merits. There must be a good security for a great system like this to make it even better.

For lisalise, grow up man. You cant even get 0.00000000001 merits if people can give that amount for that kind of posts. If you really the want privilege to earn money by joining signature campaign, i suggest you must treat this forum as a forum first.

Another whining about merits, and there goes THE PHARMACIST, giving the shits all way round to those noobs... I guess there are countless ideas that resides within the forum but neither of the new members are going to give their time on reading such infos like that. That's why we can't see the HIGHER UPS are giving their Merits here and there. Simply by looking to some other posts, almost the majorities of the OPs are not receiving any Merit because of their topics and way of writing... We now, barely see the Merits being distributed unlike before.

Yeah neither does my merit but you don't see me complaining.

All of the users here are complaining they cant get merit, read TMANs merit guide, or just post more than a few run on sentences. Make GOOD points in a thread that not have been brought up before

Lol, really, The Pharmacist? Each merit point cost $10, doesn't it?
Well, that's what I've read.  I've never seen the black market in action and I don't have a telegram account--but there was someone here selling bitcointalk accounts with add-on merits, and I think they were going for $9 or something.  My point is that these people who post one-line nonsense should not be surprised in the least that people aren't giving away these things that are very valuable as a reward for....shitposting.  It doesn't work that way.

Now, for someone like me who wouldn't sell merit on the black market, the dollar value is irrelevant.  But I know merits are valuable, and there's no way in hell I'm going to reward people who don't speak the language and look like they're just here to spam for a campaign.  Uh-uh.

By the way:

yeah, my merit never increases
You've got to be fucking kidding me.

If yes, I think this is why lots of members in the forum tried selling/ exchanging their merits and massively abused the merit system. Their ultimate goals is not ranking up, but it actually is for earning as much money from campaigns as possible.
However, ranking up by buying merits from black market is not a good option. It should never be like that.
Overtime, those merit exchanges will be found by someone, hence might lead to red tags, bans (by moderators).

I strongly believe that merit system will help to wipe out all abusers somehow, at some day.

You are likely accusing merit sources of meriting only older users. That's not true. And they have a hard job trying to find good posts in this forum.

But as you stay more time in the forum, you will learn more about BTC and crypto and you will get more merits over time. But if you make some effort you can get merits now, just need to research and make good quality content.
