It would surprise me if he hasn't heard of bitcoins already. A bitcoin conference seems like exactly the sort of venue he'd speak at.

Great! He could bring copies of his books for sale at the convention. In fact, that would be a great way for him to get paid--a pledge to buy at least 100 of his books at the convention. Or we can pre-order, paid in full, and we pick them up at the convention, signed by the author. Hmmm!
Find us another author, Harv. I like this idea!
