got a couple of emails, interesting that the email they sent to is unique and i only used it in v few places including bitcointalk.

I'm guessing the emails leaked from bitcointalk in the latest hack ?

Was wondering where they got my email address from, it must have been from the hack, sneaky, it looked like the hackers just did it "cos they can" when really they were after users email addresses to try and scam people. Unbelievable.

Update: Looks like they disabled it over at Google. As always, remain diligent with links and attachments.

Report it at the goo.gl abuse form. Hopefully google will take a look.

BTW this URL is at the bottom of goo.gl itself if you want to verify that this is not just a random form I made,

Looks like scammers are getting even more and more desperate. Well, it was kind of strategical to refer to you as John: according to howmanyofme.com, there are 5,207,467 Johns in the US, 99.63 percent of which are male. Since the male population comparing to women in these forums is pretty high, guessing you are a male was the best choice.

"Hi john,

still can't import the private key and I have 51.973444 BTC. I see the balance on blockchain.info but something is corrupt with my bitcoinqt client and I cannot transfer the BTC.

Here is a zip attached with my wallet.dat, and the password (REMOVED THE LINK)

Can you please transfer the BTC to the following address : ********************** ?

Thanks alot you save my life !"

My names not john for one, and another how OBVIOUS is this scam? WOW, I can't actually believe this sort of bs already exists.

FYI there was no zip attach and that link is what will contain the keylogger or whatever. Watch out  Undecided
