Well yes but no matter how irrelevant it may be with the dead link embedded into the blockchain. You still can't deny that there aren't any in there.  Tongue. I just found it interesting that there are files like that in there and thought someone might know something about this.

I didn't mean to say you should not post the info, because imo everything Bitcoin related is interesting. Smiley I was objecting to the Peter Dockrill's way of putting it and especially to the title of the article. People tend to remember the titles only being too lazy to read the whole article, and the title like "Bitcoin Could Become Illegal Almost Everywhere, After Shocking Discovery in The Blockchain" could come only from a hater of Bitcoin, in my opinion.

Browsing facebook this afternoon, I've came across a group that pointed out the "shocking thing in bitcoin blockchain". Apparently :"  has revealed this vast trove of data is irrevocably tainted with unremovable links to illegal child pornography, which are inevitably distributed among and by all users of the currency.". Anyone else heard anything about this?

Yeah, yet another "Shocking Discovery". Although the fudsters aren't going to stop what they are doing  we can at least make value judgements about their actions. I don't know whether they are paid for such articles by Bitcoin haters or maybe this guy, the author, Peter Dockrill, who has 9 followers on Twitter, wants to become more popular by means of his "shocking revelations", but at all accounts this article is garbage which is lacking elementary logic. In short, you can just as well make the Internet illegal for it also contains all the bad things mentioned in the article.

So if I'm reading this right, there are just links to certain illegal files embedded in the blockchain.
The author assumes that Bitcoin could be made illegal because of that, I have my doubts...

The simple solution would just be to take down the source of those images, there isn't anything illegal about a reference to a dead link...
