you dont need to run namecoind to merge mine you can use a bitcoin client at the merging pools.

3.24.63 is the latest version.

You are probably stuck connected to un-upgraded peers.

Try: -addnode=178.32.31.41
as a commandline arg

It worked!  Grin

Is there a problem with Namecoin?

When I launched Namecoind today it started downloading blocks, but it stalled at 19,199.
Can anyone confirm this?

wait a second, so far it's only worth an extra 3% to merge mine because you mine BTC and NMC at the same rate? lolwut

simplecoin.us doesn't appear to quite grasp that namecoin difficulty is not the same as bitcoin difficulty; they're quoting me the same estimated payout for both and don't appear to have solved any namecoin blocks even though they should've by now. They don't even have a place to list Namecoin shares though. (I wonder if the work's just been wasted or if the payout has gone into the pool owner's pocket.) masterpool.eu was under a DDoS earlier by Bitcoin supporters. nmcbit.com lost a whole bunch of supposedly accepted shares earlier and isn't reporting me as having earned any Bitcoin shares at all.

Six blocks in the last hour, five of them merged.  Namecoin is back to more or less its peak hash rate.

We're at block 19,202. Are we seeing a huge increase in the hash power yet?
Where should I look for it?

Which pools are merged-mining Namecoin?
