The fork of bitcoin in august 1 was a hard fork or a split into two chains and the fork that i wanted for bitcoin is the soft fork or segwit because that will make the bitcoin faster than ever and it will make bitcoin enabled the lightning network like litecoin and there is a chance that bitcoin will become faster and the fees will become lower and it will result for more users to come because of being affordable and easy to use.

I didn't liked seeing it split into BCH but I gotta say, BCH seem better right now.

Well, Segwit has not activated yet, right? It should be activated soon, and in due course, we will see Lightning Network transactions starting to take place. There are LN wallets that are apparently near the production stage.
The BCH fork was to provide an alternative to Segwit. No one can use Segwit quite yet.

I'm not sure how fork affected Bitcoin. But all I know is that, after the fork that hapoened in August 1, the demand increase that made Bitcoin's price increase. Bitcoin went skyrocket in just a short period of time that gave investors and its users profit. And now that it was already issued that there'll be another hardfok in November. Lots of its users are excited and expecting that Bitcoin will reach the 5000$ mark after the fork. Fork for what? for nothing.

So both sides could get what they wanted. Bitcoin was in a standstill and people wanted to see progress. In my opinion, the fork(s) are better then nothing happening. It was clearly good for both the price of BTC and BCH. BTC might still be slow, but this paves the road for future improvements in the technology/speed.
