Now that news sources are reporting more about BTC again, are people who've never heard of BTC more likely to
1) Buy
2) Sell
I am going mad. Who've never heard about BTC how he can sell?
First he will be trying to buy BTC from exchanges or individuals after that when he thinks to sell time he may go for action or he can hold coin with a decision of "will use".

BTC to the moon is inevitable...

the more news talks about bitcoin the more publicity it can gain, so bitcoin is getting more and more popular this way and people will start buying it because they will all want to use this chance to make some profit.

Hhahahhahahahahahhhahaha hahah ahem.

If they've never heard of bitcoin before, thier most definitely likely to sell!
To sell the coins they don't have!
Although technically people who havn't heard about bitcoin could sell, by shorting the coin..

That was a good one mate Cheesy but you prove a good point, most people in the mainstream will be wondering if they should buy. Sometimes it takes a nonsense question to make a clear point and rebutal.

If people just heard of bitcoin, obviously they are going to buy first because they have no damn bitcoins to sell! Like if you just heard of an investment, you wouldn't be selling. You would buy.

But they could claim the faucet, and then sell their earnings. But very small chance.

Bitcoin buying and selling goes on always. there are times when there is buying pressure and price increases at  such times. On the other hand, when more people sell then there is selling pressure and bitcoin price goes down during such periods.

buy until 1k, dump to 800, buy again to 2k, dump to 1200, this scenario i see for now, previous ath will be the new bottom

Lol this sounds funny now but back in 2013 I was among those who pretty much did exactly that  Cheesy I started buying Bitcoin when the excitement and hype was at it's peak then I panicked and sold and bought again, losing money every single time haha.
One thing's for sure the media coverage of this rise and the halving will bring us a whole new generation of Bitcoiners  Smiley

Well, I think that it's a bit obvious that most people are going to buy bitcoins if they hear it for the first time. Who would have a bitcoin to sell when they first hear of the thing bitcoin?

I mean, think about it...

it is funny, how can someone sell if they have never heard of bitcoin hence not having any bitcoin Cheesy

but to be serious, people will start buying bitcoin because the media is full of news about bitcoin and the big is rise that has been happening recently . so they will buy in order to not miss out on anything.

Both.

Mostly buying, a good deal of FOMO buying in fact. Especially by those who saw the last ATH bubble, but didn't have any skin in the game. There will also be selling. People taking profits and looking to buy back in on the dip(s).

So basically, lots of volume both ways. Hopefully, more net in the upwards way.
I mean it's pretty inevitable that it will net upwards even if we have to endure selling pressure all the way until the halving (which is extremely unlikely as current speculation is driving a big rally). The increased volume is creating delays in confirmation because we've already been at the block size limit and so I think that actually helps us in terms of selling pressure needing to wait a couple more hours than usual to get into wallets.

First we will have to make it past $800 which seems to be offering some very unexpected resistance. Earlier it began sell pressure around the $780 mark and then we held at $750 or so for a while and now we're going back down again. Perhaps we need to settle down a little more before the next big push happens and new people getting in will obviously just be buying because they won't have anything to sell. But they might make rookie mistakes and panic sell as it starts dropping to further increase sell pressure.

Um, don't you gotta buy it before you can sell it?

It would be very interesting to see what the takeup would be this time around if it does go crazy. bitcoin's a word that's been thrown around alot more since 2013 and the options to get it are better. Let's hope there isn't a huge fall and hearts are broken.

Just a silly joke. Of course they'll be buying. But it can take a bit of time after the news reports of $1000+, all time highs etc. start flowing in, b/c it can take up to a week to verify an acct. to purchase BTC, move money to BTC-friendly banks, etc.
Of course, many people will begin to buy as soon as more news flows in however I will bet you that after just a small amount of increase, there will be quite a bit of selling from those individuals.

They have not invested for as long as the veterans here, and thus must have less faith. Those that are brave enough to delve into bitcoin would only do so temporarily for profit, I'm betting. And thus, instead of holding, they would just wait for a rise then dump.
