i almost sell my bitcoin but fortunately i didn't do that because my friend tell to me that do not too worry with the situations because the price will recover soon so i decide to following him holding my bitcoin and apparently his predictions was correct that the price currently back to $1000
it isnt so hard isnt it? Just buy in dips, sell at tops. Or hodl to wait for the ultimate top. Its so easy. We are just crawling back out of a huge dip. Why would you sell now? Because you expect bitcoin to go to 0$? Well that entrypoint is not going to happen. The current price is at bottom trendline support. This is the lime to load! Will you be left behind?

it is easy only when you are saying it but when it comes down to actually doing it, you need a lot of experience to notice where exactly is the top and were exactly is the dip's bottom to buy back.

yeah after it happens you can open the charts and see where the top and bottom had been but when things are happening by that time there is no way you can predict it without enough experience and analysis.

so it is not easy at all. which is why holding long term is the way to go for most people

Its very easy. Fact. But it will take lots of time wathing the charts to know when to sell or not. If you dont have the time, then hodling is the best thing to do.

Holding is indeed the best option, but you don't really have to be an expert to spot the repetitive movements within a certain range of the market in current situation. Every dump that results in the price to fall below $1000, gets bought up to over $1000 within a reasonable number of days. As long as there is demand (and there is no reason why the demand shouldn't be there), the price will get bought up to over $1000 every time. If this isn't an easy way of making money, I seriously don't know what is. Smiley

I made a mistake by selling my bitcoins at a lower price ie at 935$ .and then within hours the price of bitcoins went more than 1000$ .well i say it was stupid of me to do that , but cant do anything now .
From now on i have decided that i l not sell bitcoins at a lower price and i believe that bitcoin have a great future.
I think, there is not only you who sell the Bitcoin at price under $1000. But almost all people in last week
also have panic sellings like you friends. Yeah usually we are be panic when the price go down quickly.
The patience is a important point in the trading world.

I feel sorry to those people who sold their Bitcoin holdings when price is less thant $1000 specially if theybought it way more than that.  You should have strong determination if you are into trading Bitcoin and should have learned from the past history of bitcoin since Bitcoin have the capability of rebouncing back and  charge stronger than before.  And of course, patience is important anywhere in the world.
However, last week I move my bitcoin to altcoin. I always do the trading altcoin
if the price of the bitcoin's getting down. I think it's the best way to prevent panic sellings.
Yeah the price Bitcoin often will be rebouncing back after down quickly.

I don't know who or why wanna buy or sell now btc when the price is so high. It is no makes any sense. I want the price goes down very low, like less than $700, it will be the best for me. But if you think about it, the quantity of btc is less so the price it wouldn't be more than $850. I don't know why this is happening, and who have benefit from that. :/

Are you serious that this is high price of bitcoins so we should not buy bitcoins at a moment? If you look at the price before few weeks when it was trading above 1200 then you will consider this price as low and would try to buy as many bitcoins as possible.

I agree that it's best to buy when the price is lower (like under $1000) and if you are a trader, sell when it gets over $1200. But I also like to hold some Bitcoins for a long term investment because If I sell, I may not have another good chance to buy again.

Yes and if you don't have patience then you are at a wrong place and you cannot expect positive results from your investment as every time you will be making a wrong move by selling your coins at a low price so even if price goes lower you should manage to hold your coins for a long time.

It's actually back to four digits again and seems to be recovering even more. Might be a good sign, or just a trap. I'm not sure at this point, so holding is the better option.

Indeed its a good sign but actually we can't tell if this price up will sustain to retain its highest price reached for those past months happen unto it. And the one i think here is the price simply plays at that price and going back again since im pretty sure that many people for now are enjoying the earnings where they can get for playing the price flactuations.

I just bought back with a nice loss. Destroyed all my trading coins, but i still hodling my cold storage from 2016.  Cheesy. Really a shame tho, i was trading like a boss.  Lets start from zero again i guess. Trading is over for me. I am going to hodl because i cant predict the price anymore because of those BU idiots. Roger Ver screems something on the news and the price crashes. Some miner twitters 1 message and the price starts rising like a B**ch.  Looks like the easy mathematical trade days are over.

It depends entirely on the price you bought at.

If say you bought at $500 - then selling half your stash at $999 means you have got your initial investment back, and you can let the rest just ride and see what happens.

If you bought at $1200, then hodling in the hopes it goes back up becomes more attractive.

Also - people have different circumstances. if you are in profit and you have unexpected bills to pay, it makes sense to cash out to pay those bills rather than borrow the money to pay the bills. but if your bitcoin stash is just play money, you can afford to hold and see what happens.

Bought at 600. I still think that this price is very high compared with all the latest news

This is not the right time. I've bought bitcoin at a price above 1.000USD. if I sell it this time then I will suffer great losses. better I do hold and be patient until bitcoin prices rise again. wait is the right choice when looking at the current price.

After these dramas, we will see bitcoin to pump again and if it will reach my satisfying price which is $1,250-$1,300 probably I'll sell. I really don't get it that why there are a lot of people that are worried about this down.
yeah holding bitcoin is very much better because a lot of people holding their bitcoin and we know that bitcoin demand is very high and bitcoin increasing its price permanently so hold your bitcoin is better.

I mine the altcoins. I usually sell most of the mined altcoins to buy the bitcoin. It might change if the bitcoin price does go lower.

Change in what way? That you stop converting your minted altcoins to Bitcoin? If so, then that wouldn't really make any sense as the lower the price is, the more incentive people have to obtain Bitcoin either through converting their altcoins to BTC, or their fiat. I can however understand that if you operate a physical mining rig that you have certain expenses that need to get covered, but you can also choose to convert like 50-75% of your minted altcoins to Bitcoin, where you use the rest to cover expenses. Including more details would be a helpful thing, because now people can only guess what your situation might be.

Doesn't make sense....  Huh

People's emotions don't make sense, do they?

When it is obvious that bitcoin will experience a correction from that ridiculous nearly $1300 we stayed at for half a week or so, nobody thought that they were going to be selling their coins. Everyone was buying, some even with leverage.

Now that they see bitcoin can crash, they are the first ones to dump their coins bought at the ATH.

I mean, it should really be the opposite way around to make a profit.

Personally, i'm still in profit, but i'll hold because i believe in bitcoin.

Just because the price of bitcoin is lower than $1000, doesn't mean bitcoin is going to die.
To early to say that Bitcoin would die even it dips it price on 900 mark but still its high theres no really need to panic when price of bitcoin does drop because i do treat it as a normal thing that do really happen on bitcoins price.Panic selling do normally happens on most newbies which they dont know too much on bitcoins potential.

Definitely not dead.

Bitcoin still has a long way ahead of it and if you look at the historical charts you will find that bitcoin at $900 and beyond is still a rare occurance. The average price of bitcoin during the whole of 2015 was only around $250-$300.

It would be stupid to sell now, at least hold till the end of the year and see what happens.

I've sold all my coins at $1100 and now i'll be the first to buy when the price drops down to $900. Wink

Holding would be the better option since bitcoin price is recovering and its now around $970.Soon,it would cross $1000 and by the end of april,it would reach $1200 again because BU would be be no more at that time and most of the altcoin holders would have returned to bitcoin.

No will still wait till the price of bitcoin will back to 1200 us dollar per coin i don't want to lose profit since i bough bitcoin when the price is at $1000 i will sell my coins when the price is right. Hold wait for the moment enjoy your coins watching them to increase.

Only people who will get panic will sell their coins at this low price and if you have bought your coins at $1k level or above then it doesn't make any sense in selling them at this stage as you have invested to make profits from it so you will only sell them when it will exceed your entry price.

it is always the panic and the pressure combined with the fact that most people don't even know why they have invested in bitcoin. most of them have done it because they heard to the moon and get rich quick, so they got in. and when they see price going down, they don't see the chance to buy more cheap coins instead the see their dreams crushed so they start selling.
the funny part is that when price goes up they again see their dreams crushed because they no longer have bitcoin so they buy back in at a higher price.

I agree with you, it does not make sense selling at a lost.  Aside from that Bitcoin had proven itself the capability to recover.  History proved it.  Just look at the 2013 bubble and 2014 burst.  It goes down to sub 200 but then goes on a rally for almost two years to beat its ATH.  So I guess it would make sense if we decide to buy more, now that Bitcoin is <$1000.

Yeah its good time to buy more bitcoins as price is below $1k so the people who were waiting for making an investment in bitcoin at low price this is the best time for them as price may start recovering back in coming days and if they don't buy now then they will miss an golden opportunity of buying at lower price.

Considering the fact that years ago the market was in a much worse situation, and yet the price was much higher, in fact it does not make much sense.
Yeah, there was not that hard fork drama, but I think people are overdoing it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see much support for such a thing happening.

It's panic that dictates the sentiment right now. The majority of the people without any real experience can't stand the pressure of how the market is moving up and down. Easiest way for them is to sell. But as mostly happens -- these people end up buying back their coins at a premium. But hey, who are we to judge how they react to market panic. I rather take full advantage of this whole situation and buy at sub $900 levels, and that's exactly what I did.
I think that the problem is that a lot of people also buy into Bitcoin intending for it to be a currency as well as an investment.  When they think that their ability to spend will be hindered a lot of the time for whatever they're doing, they'll store in more stable currencies until the heat is off.

Still, if the price goes down it'll just be an opportunity for someone who was more prepared, and I hope that no one put in too much money for them to handle.

I doubt people that purely look to make an investment also look at it from a currency point of view. Bitcoin is for the majority of the people just an investment tool, which clearly shows as people aren't willing to spend their coins. Especially not when they have the feeling that their coins will gain more value overtime. Regarding over-investing, it's a common thing here in the Bitcoin world. That's why people tend to dump far sooner than when they would have invested a more appropriate amount into Bitcoin.

Untill just last year I have always believed that bitcoin at some point will be replaced by other coins. The longest history is not enough of advantage - after a few years it evens out. You need new features. Then I thought that TumbleBit and RootStock would add all the most needed features to bitcoin and if that is possible than other features would follow. Now I am a bit pessimistic about the chance for SegWit which would enable TumbleBit or RootStock - 95% is a very big majority, even if BU just relents, there will always be 6% of stubborn or lazy miners.

Right now I am waiting for it to go back down a little more or I'll wait until I am sure that the price bitcoin is in is the new floor price. It would be hard to determine it but I would rebuy bitcoin to the lowest price possible in this dump. I will do it since I believe it is not dead yet and it have more potential left in it.

I so agree with you. I don't know what is wrong with people and why are they panic so much over price going down a bit. Like it's the end of the world. Or these are just people who are not very long with bitcoin and they don't know how the things are going. Anyway, it's not time to sell, the price will recover again.

bitcoin price has gone up based on years of adoption

this price fall is down to the possibility of that slowing or reversing. this fork crap, higher fees and more money to be made elsewhere are all convincing reasons for less people to be keen on the idea. that's the basis for a real fall.
I agree, years of adoption have to be for a genuine purpose.  If Bitcoin is practically not as useful as it was before, the price is going to fall.

people are funny with their investments and i have seen some weird behavior in my time but when it comes to bitcoin they seem to get even more irrational!

and i sometimes don't get it. i convince myself that they are newbie panic sellers but really i think it is bitcoin, because they are always uncertain about it. possibly because so few really understand what bitcoin really is and what it is meant to do!

of course this has been reducing over time, for example things aren't as bad as 3 years ago but still there are so many panic sellers and whales love that.

Still, if the price goes down it'll just be an opportunity for someone who was more prepared, and I hope that no one put in too much money for them to handle.

I love to see those responses from a senior member and up saying to hold on and not sell our bitcoins. I'm new a newbie still ...

you shouldn't really make investments based on what you read online and it doesn't matter if it is a newbie account or a legendary that is saying something. just learn to read and then process it yourself. it may be a lie or truth.

here is an example of a legendary account, i have selected a good page from his bullshit counts back in 2015. you can see his FUD clearly now:

It's panic that dictates the sentiment right now. The majority of the people without any real experience can't stand the pressure of how the market is moving up and down. Easiest way for them is to sell. But as mostly happens -- these people end up buying back their coins at a premium. But hey, who are we to judge how they react to market panic. I rather take full advantage of this whole situation and buy at sub $900 levels, and that's exactly what I did.

I love to see those responses from a senior member and up saying to hold on and not sell our bitcoins. I'm new a newbie still but I learned a lot from doing investments (stocks) before so I know that holding and buying bitcoin is the correct respond to such situation like this. I salute to those who are still holding and not selling and do not panic in this dilemma. And for some who panic already, I guess its your decision to sell but seeing the respond of a more senior member here saying to hold, I think you made the wrong move.

bitcoin price has gone up based on years of adoption

this price fall is down to the possibility of that slowing or reversing. this fork crap, higher fees and more money to be made elsewhere are all convincing reasons for less people to be keen on the idea. that's the basis for a real fall.

people are funny with their investments and i have seen some weird behavior in my time but when it comes to bitcoin they seem to get even more irrational!

and i sometimes don't get it. i convince myself that they are newbie panic sellers but really i think it is bitcoin, because they are always uncertain about it. possibly because so few really understand what bitcoin really is and what it is meant to do!

of course this has been reducing over time, for example things aren't as bad as 3 years ago but still there are so many panic sellers and whales love that.

Fill Your Barrel with Bitcoins!
I admit, they almost got me... but I realized how much time, effort and money I've put into getting BTC. I'm not going to just give it away because others are running scared. If I want FIAT bad enough I'll work extra hours.

People think Bitcoin is outdated to alt coins, but the math is all the same. Bitcoin's value comes from being accepted in more places than alt coins. Look at Rai stones, they are certainly an outdated form of currency, but they have still appreciated in value over time and are collectable items of antiquity. Also a solid store of value.

Same with Bitcoin, it will always be the First Crypto and highly sought after.

Held on when btc reach 1000 first in 2013 , continue buying when it dropped back to $400s. Held on when all the altcoins came out. I forsee my self holding on to many more years of bitcoin's presumed death and even then many more years to go.

well, as a long term holder who doesn't care about monthly or even yearly changes that can work for you in 2013 but i would argue that back in 2013 it was clearly a bubble and holding was not the greatest of ideas.
but now things are different, bitcoin price has gone up based on years of adoption and slow growth not $900 rise in 2 month! and that price can not be broken that easily.

and in case of this topic you either sold at $1200 and have been buying back in 9xx range or you have already lost your chance of short term profit and better stick to long term.

i don't want to sell my bitcoin right now as the price is under $1000, i will waiting for more and i think i will doing btc pair altcoin because in altcoin, there are many coins that have increase so i think its maybe a good chance for me to make another profit. if i sell it for now, i think i can make profit too but better for me to be patience and waiting the price.
