Wow can't believe Olympics are over already. So short. Canada-Sweden game was good although the Canadians dismantled everyone. I'm happy that my home country got #1 in medals, would be a bit awkward if we didn't considering we're the host.

Not sure if there are any Jimmy Kimmel fans in here, but he pranked the Olympics HARD!

Kate Hansen from the States gave him access to her twitter account and he posted this as her:

Kate Hansen ‏@k8ertotz Feb 19

Wolf in my hall?!? #SochiProblems #SochiFail http://youtu.be/3qZA-xOeQmE

The media jumped all over it and freaked out.

The video was actually taken on a sound stage where Kimmel is shot. They recreated the Olympic hallway.

Heres the video from Kimmel, LOL!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hze_6-f5KNA

What a stupid ass video that's not even funny.

It's funny that so many people actually bought it.  Actually, its funny and sad all at the same time.  The internet is turning many people into idiots.  They see something on the net and take it at face value without asking questions.  Some of what people believe because it's posted on the net is actually scary and could potentially endanger their lives.

Remember people, don't believe everything you see on the internet, thats how WWII got started.

It's not the first time that a viral video was started by Kimmel as a prank to see how far it'd go. I don't like the videos themselves, but I can appreciate what he's doing.

Interesting Olympics. The hot climate gave produced some problems, for snow boarders such as Shaun White for example.
The accommodation problems showed that the Olympic Committee perhaps should be less open to let cities without winter sports experience host the games.
Overall I enjoyed the games a lot though, it is hard to demolish the intense excitement and friendly spirit that the that Olympics is accompanied with.

Congratulations Canada for ice hockey gold!
You had a strong lineup and played well in the deciding games.

Hell yes for Canada! Good game; they did a good job at shutting down Sweden at the right moments.

Did anyone heard of the incident where Cossacks horsewhipped some lunatics in Sochi?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcFg9nRwbvk
That's not a whip. That is "nagayka" - wooden handle, leather rope, metal tip. Old thing for hunting. Armed cavalier was to hit the wolf's head with this device, killing it.
Ah, lets stay about olympics, not this "perfomance" actions.

Can't believe we (Russia) lost to Finland so bad...3-1. Played too offensively at the beginning and let in 3 goals quickly. Really sad because we had the momentum for the rest of the game but couldn't score anything. The Fins were the better team though, and they played as a team, especially when they were defending while the Russians were quite disorganized after those goals. Host country won't even get a medal Sad I share Putin's reaction.

Ahh,,this year ice hockey sucks..

Russia and US in the same group... has to watch the match between both of them.

USA v Russia on 2/15 at 7:00am EST.....super excited.  I think this year is going to be great for hockey!  There are essentially 4 top teams: USA, Canada, Russia and Sweden that should go to the medal games.  With Zetterberg out it could hurt Swedens chances, but I think it will be a great year for Olympic hockey
Yeah Sweden would have a considerably stronger lineup if injuries didn't hit Henrik Sedin, Johan Franzen and Henrik Zetterberg. Two Sedin twins on the ice is preferable to one twin.

Why was the media showing only the bad things about Sochi? They made it look it was the worst place in the world.
It IS in Russia

The homosexual lobby is against the games in Sochi, because in Russia indoctrinating minor children with gay propaganda is banned. But the same people will remain quiet when Qatar conducts the FIFA World Cup in 2022. (In Qatar, homosexuals are executed with or without trial).

Russia vs USA 2:2 after OT. Shoot-out coming up!

What an amazing game... And an amazing finish!

Great game indeed. Gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised by the level of competition between the players considering how many of the Russian players are playing in the NFL and some even facing their teammates. A lot of physical play. I hope this old Cold War rivalry never dies.

P.S: I hope Russia will destroy everyone in hockey as usual though (except 2010 Olympics, ahem) , sorry Canada.

They haven't been too great at destroying "everyone" in the modern Olympics in men's hockey, though... Smiley

But I do hope they get far; I want to see some critics silenced.

Though I'm Canadian, I still think Ovechkin is currently the most electrifying player in the world.

The opening was rather cool I think.

The opening ceremony was breath taking.

I agree. And to some failures during the Opening ceremony (most notably the snowflakes/rings stuff at the start), I think that nobody/nothing is perfect and there are always made some mistakes at celebrations of this kind... for example, who remembers in 2014 this "mystery woman scandal" from london olympics opening ceremony, and it happened just 2 years ago...  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/29/indian-team-opening-ceremony-woman-olympics_n_1715733.html

I won't be watching at all, except maybe for a couple of hockey games.

Russia is really swallowing their own foot with these games. From the human rights angle all the way to the fact that Sochi was nowhere near ready to accept athletes and media people alike... So much fail.

For some reason, I'm not even surprised. I mainly feel bad for the athletes who've trained all their lives only to share toilet stalls and sleep in mini single beds.

I see this a lot but I don't understand this line of reasoning. Olympic games are not about politics, they're about the best in the world competing in sports. Not to mention Western media will paint anything Russia does in a negative light. Do toilets affect the Olympic competition? Does the fact that some journalist posted a picture of his honey having  a dead bee in it really matter? If things were really so bad, then why are all these athletes here, ready to compete?

Respect the athletes that train their whole lives to show us a good spectacle. Leave the politics out of it!

I respect the athletes and their performances immensely. Like I mentioned, I feel bad for the athletes especially because they deserve a much better experience than what they're getting out of the Sochi games.

As for Western media, you do have some valid points. They're clinging to Russia's failings quite a bit, but Russia definitely isn't helping itself.
