You are absolutely right, social media can be a breeding ground for scammers, especially in the crypto market. It's important to be intelligent and cautious while using social media platforms. I have seen so many scam airdrops and fake Telegram groups myself. It's unfortunate that these scammers can create such convincing ads and groups that even newbies can fall victim to. That's why it's necessary for inexperienced investors to be guided by experienced individuals.
Not every piece of information on social media should be followed blindly. There is a lot of wrong information and scams out there and it's not regulated. People can easily be misled and scammed if they are not careful. It's great that this forum filters out wrong information and caution users when needed. It's important to rely on trusted sources and do thorough research before making any decisions.

Full topic: Social media is a breeding ground for scamers, be intelligent while you explore the crypto market.

When you see a new project coming up or collaborating with a big platform holding sales or just a campaign, that's where scammers try their luck at cheating.
This method of scammers by duplicating websites and creating advertisements or duplicating social media accounts has been around for a very long time. for beginners, it will be very risky, but if they follow channels or websites that usually release information related to new and valid projects, I think it will reduce the risk. rather than searching manually in their browser's search engine.

Full topic: Social media is a breeding ground for scamers, be intelligent while you explore the crypto market.

I got inspired to draft this topic after seeing so many scam airdrops that was promoted on  X formally known as Twitter, so many fake telegram group that are impersonating the original telegram group of other successful project, and  many fake investment groups on Facebook. Some of these groups or fake ads looks very real to the extent that  real newbies who have zero experiences about crypto can fall victim unless they are guided by experienced investors.

The reason for making this post is to alert those innocent newbies who are just new and still starting their journey into crypto for the first time. I don't recommend you guys to follow every information you catch on social media.  Social media is so polluted with scams and too much wrong information. The rate of scam on social media is not regulated and that's why people will keep being misleaded and scammed if they follow every information they get from the social apps.

As this forum is concerned, there are different good people who will never allow scammers  to mislead others, that is why wrong information are always filtered out here and users are immediately cautioned  when they drop wrong information.

The social apps is unsafe to be a place where a newbie can get good knowledge about cryptocurrency. It is good to recommend people to learn from the Bitcoin talk communit or any other Bitcoin educational material that is legit.

Your point is that there are a lot of fake posts in social media these days, that means there are opportunities to rob people, but the important thing is that we can't run without social media. How can we run? So we prioritize any token that we want information about, first we get it on Telegram or on Twitter and also here on Facebook.
If we don't use social media for this thing, then we will be victims of ignorance, we will not even know which coin has what ecosystem, which coin has listing, which coin has what next. what is the arrangement? We will not understand anything.

I think that we should take a strong action against this thing so that we can avoid all these fake accounts that are stealing or the other way is that we are very careful. Investigate against them if we find out that man this is fake website or account then we should not connect with them then we can save. The most important thing is to be saved from the future.

The op is very correct. Before now, telegram use to be the headquarters of scams, but recently Twitter have taken over that spot. If care isn't taken, you can see a link on verified account on Twitter with a golden tick, and yet turns out to be a scam.
These days, it doesn't matter who posts a link, due diligence must be carried out before clicking and don't make the mistake of signing in using your main wallet.

Why do people feel that since Elon Musk took over Twitter, the bird app suddenly became a hub for scam and hate speech. I think Twitter has always been that way. Before the takeover, there was a hack on twitter that targeted accounts of celebrities and famous people. The hackers were able to pull off a massive scam, deceiving unsuspecting users to send bitcoins to a wallet address and receive double the amount sent. You can imagine how many people fell for the scam.

I do not personally think that the scams on Twitter has anything to do with Elon musk taking over. Like you said, Twitter has always been that way, true, but I think it has to do more with the scammers now shifting more their attention to Twitter. I can't count the numbers of tags I receive daily asking me to click on so so and so link, but I have never click on such link.

The social media as a tool has it's merit and demerit. While we look at the demerit, let's not forget that the merits far outweigh the demerit.
You will find all kinds of people on the social media. Just guide your mind and stay focused.

A blue tick on X should not be seen as a symbol of trust, anyone can get an account with a blue tick. Telegram has a reputation of being a breeding ground for scammers. A lot of ICOs, traders, crypto communities have groups and channels on telegram, scammers are aware of this and join these groups to target newbies who ask for help with whatever problem they have. If scam victims understand that whoever dms you first is probably a scammer and should be treated like one until proven wise, a lot of these scams won’t even see the light of day.

True, a blue tick account is no guarantee that the every information from such account should be trusted. What if the account is hacked? Moreso, you don't know the intention of the person behind the acct.
For me, I don't go about clicking links just because it was posted from a gold or blue tick account.

For telegram, I have had many instances of scammers coming to my DMS claiming to be support teams of certain projects especially when you asked for assistance on the group. Many a times I just delete the DMS and report those account because I know fully well that they are scammers.

While social media can be an advantage for those who wants to promote their business, but seeing it as a key source to learning is always a wrong act. Yes, you might gained a lot of information but the the problem is if they are reliable and comes from a legit source, otherwise you will fall into absorbing wrong information and feeds yourself with fake news and unreliable updates.

To learn safely, focus on bitcointalk or any reputable source about bitcoin. Rest assured that you won’t be exposed into misleading information that will only make yourself confused and bothered.

You where thoughtful @ OP. However, I urge all Bitcoin newbies investors and potential investors and to whom it may concern not to stand flexible to be influenced by the social medias, you shouldn't be convinced with the sugarcoated decorations about any any suspicious bitcoins platform in order not to fall being scammed. You must always have it in mind that not all that glitters are gold and only then you could resist the traps of the Bitcoin investors hunters.

Exactly what I was saying this evening about the possibility that someone can easily get scammed if he goes to search for information about Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency in social media platforms. These social media platforms are breeding ground for scammers as they know it hosts lots of people that are naive in terms of their level of knowledge so they use that advantage and claim to be all sort of different expert for the gullible ones to believe that and get scammed because I believe if anyone has been exposed to the knowledge and warnings that Bitcointalk highlights, they would high possibility of them avoiding such silly scams.

There is no social media app that there are no scammers, even in this forum, there are scammers looking for opportunity to scam anybody who lets their guard down in the forum. You see scammers on this forum offering to help people recover their lost bitcoins, putting up ridiculous offers and adding their telegram links for gullible and tempted forum members to contact them etc. Scammers can appear to have any profile because they can hack and steal the profile of anyone and then use it for their nefarious acts.

People lie a lot on social media, can claim to be anyone to just get your trust. Be intelligent and do not trust easily.
Social media is a tool and people are bound to abuse it. You can never be too sure of what is real or fake on social media. Catfishing is made possible through social media, it’s worse now because of the advancement of AI. Scammers can manipulate facial appearance and voice to communicate with their victims.

I mean for sure there are a lot of scammers and hackers out there, especially on social media, probably like you have mentioned on Twitter or X there are probably a lot of scammers probably because most of the projects started to build their followers on Twitter or X especially projects that are cryptocurrency related like wallets, NFTs, networks, groups, etc. That is probably where a lot of scammers scam a lot of people, there is still a lot of this on our social media but I do think there was a higher chance of being scammed on X, i mean I dont really see any related cryptocurrency ads on Instagram and Facebook anymore, but there are still a lot of it on google ads.

For sure this was already common for most of the traders, as long as there are people that are getting scammed and hacked by these people they are not going to stop what they are doing, probably it only costs them a very small effort or might also pay a small amount to advertise as well but the amount of there profit might be huge for sure.

It was really easy to avoid since if you already have the knowledge and know what you are doing you could easily identify red flags on a scam or hacks, something like it too good to be true, also your not really going to just trust anybody, especially on social media since anyone could easily create an account there without really need to identify or show some kind of credentials on this social media websites.

For example you can't go on a private telegram group and tell people they're running a scam because they will ban you.

I have been kicked out many times from telegram groups and the reason is because I just keep asking a consistent question which non of their admin was ignoring. Such attitude is even what can make people to believe that the project is a scam. Every good project will always want to be transparent.
Because they don't want someone to verify and have their real intention come out. The lack of transparency will bring confusion to everyone but when we ask, nobody will answer even though admins see it because those people who are actively talking in the group are just teammates. Yes, not too dumb not to feel it and realize that they would like us to put it into their pocket and think we're too innocent not to see their main objective.

Now, the telegram group is really full of scams. Can't be sure who we are talking to and who we can be trusted as they even use known names and big personalities as their identity.

I feel you, getting booted for asking questions totally sucks.   Telegram groups can get hectic, and admins might miss or ignore questions sometimes, especially if they're not phrased clearly.  Still, kicking someone for asking stuff ain't right and  groups should be transparent and not punish curiosity.  If they shut you down hard for asking normal stuff, seems sketch and can definitely raise red flags.

Social Media had always been a tool to scam people and not only that but also of a good deed.
We don't need to agitate more on the negatives we get exposed to on social media but also the good we can get to know due to the influence of social media. It is important for us to keep paying a close attention to what we do so that we don't allow scammers to use opportunity to defraud us because of our ignorance of the social media potentials.

Ignorance isn't an excuse, you're a newbie doesn't mean the scammers will spare you, you're their targeted audience. They keep bringing the same tricks often because they know that new members are coming in the industry often and they won't be informed. As a newbie, get to know the in and out of the industry, read and learn so you don't wish you did exactly that when you have been scammed. This is an unregulated industry, anything is possible here and the culprits go unpunished often because the industry isn't regulated.

Social media is the breading ground for all scams both those relating to cryptocurrency and other monetary business. We don't have to believe everything we see on the web and only join the official groups through the website of the project and not relying on social media handles as they're also getting hacked quite often this days.

Always Act Smart and Play Safe With Your Funds
You don't have to blame those that are being misled over there because everyone are looking for easy money without doing their thorough investigation before putting their money over there, I have also come to a conclusion that anyone who got scammed from social media is as a results of rushing to utilized the fake opportunity they have offered them on social media making them to invest without the need to do proper research on the platform they are sinking their money.

People of nowadays are too lazy and weak to make research on themselves due to how they are tasty to be called an investor or early adopter of a particular project and coin often leads them to be scammed.

Just of the other week I came across a post made by someone over here who followed a youtuber on his channel to go trade, and he was given a site to sign up after which he was asked to fund that broker or exchange something like that, some days interval he was asked again to make additional deposit without him receiving any previous profits for the one he has deposited in the site. Well to cut the whole story shorts he was scammed and he ran down here to come raise alarm about the scam.

Social media has become one of the easiest path for scammers to get to their victims easily. Social media is a social gathering that has no strict rule to guide and filter house scammers. You won’t be thought on how to deal with issues like that until you learn it the hard way, or after a lesson (falling a victim of scam), or learned from someone that was there before you. Before now and till date, telegram is mostly used by scammers because that’s where most of this projects dish out full informations about their project, so hence scammers get direct contact to their victims easily. Today, it has now become more viral and other social media apps are used by scammers to leverage on when wanting to scam their victims. It is better to be careful while using social media platforms generally.

The forum wouldn’t have existed or stand on its existing protocols if anything is altered that will accommodate scammers in the forum. The forum is very large and has a lot of important people coming to get informations and solutions to their problems in the crypto space. The moment the trust is loss, they won’t be much visitors here again and the forum activity will reduce drastically since scammers are allowed to nest here like others. Bitcointalk forum is a school that is dependable on to get full information on the crypto industry.

Lol, but I think those two word "breeding-ground, is really well used to classify social media because definitely the numbers of scammers there are on a high rate. I fear social media to even take any information very serious, unless I have to make a proper research by my self.

In the early month of last year, there was a fake casino that was greatly promoted by some social media influencers. They will convince you to deposit your money to that casino and start to gamble, assuring people they will win and become successful for playing some games in that casino. Most people fell victim to those Influencers, and they lost their money big time. That was when they realized, it was fake and those Influencers were criticized for their deceitful promotion.

Even if a Scam is being promoted on Social Media, the Social-Media-Management doesn't delete those Posts. So, it's a red flag.

I remember, some years ago, when I also seeked help in a Telegram-Group, someone sent me a DM and was pretending to be a Customer Support for the Project I was asking about. I almost fell victim to his plots, but I realized quickly and restrained.

Social media platforms are becoming a breeding ground of scammers and many of the scam projects have social media campaigns like twitter, facebook, youtube and more. If I were you, I would never trust anyone who PM me in any social media platforms and so when you see projects being promoted in social media. You should also be careful on telegram as it is also full of scammers although there are some legit and paying projects but it isn't easy to find nowadays.

Seriously social media is basically Where scam projects are promoted right now, whenever you see any advertisement or any link on any social media most especially Telegram and X, just avoid them because I can say 90 percent of them are scam, when you are making use of telegram and you discover any telegram group, make sure you don’t just join it, if their their is any project telegram group that you want to join, make sure you visit the project website, and get their official telegram group from the website, and don’t trust anyone that PM you in any social media, no matter what they do to earn your trust, you have to be very careful, most of them will want you to trust them first before scamming you.

The reason for making this post is to alert those innocent newbies who are just new and still starting their journey into crypto for the first time.
This post is really important because scammers are always targeting newbies, they believe they are the ones who have little or no knowledge about all this scam strategy, so newbies are the ones that are going to be easily scammed, so your advice is really nice.

Bitcoin = Financial freedom
I would go further and say not just social media, the whole internet is filled with scams and if you see an article or blog that is praising a project particularly then it can be a paid ad just created to generate traffic and this is done by most preferred news platforms too in the crypto market. When you want to trust your money then you need to do it on your own which needs necessary knowledge which comes from doing the research on our own.
I agree that's simply the best way one can actually help their self because if you are to follow the rating and praises from any social media website on a particular project then you might probably just get yourself posted in a really tight corner that you might find it really difficult to come out from. An example of such places would be the ratings from trust pilot, I know for sure to an extent that most reviews and ratings on that site are all planned and rigged.

Trust ratings can be bought too and it can be written by real people but those feedbacks can be noticed and can be differentiated from the legit feedback because usually the bought feedback will be written in a word or two while the actual use may explain the experience of using it. But even though someone thinks it's legit it doesn't mean you have to trust them just as I said it is our responsibility to find them on our own.

BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.
Scammers take advantage of unsuspecting individuals, especially newcomers just starting their crypto journey. I witnessed fake airdrops, impersonations, and fraudulent investment schemes there. Unfortunately, these scams often appear authentic, making it challenging for newcomers to distinguish between genuine opportunities and fraudulent activities. I have warned them and advising not to follow information on social media blindly and they should turn to reputable sources like here in this forum for education instead. This forum filters out misinformation and provides a safer learning and discussion space.
The scammers often target innocent newbies and after the newbies fall prey of their scam, it will give the newbies wrong mindset which is the reason they always say that Bitcoin is a scam. Since there's no promotion by Bitcoin itself, those scam projects and Ponzi schemeers use the name of bitcoin to decieve and scam newbies.

On the side of the newbies, they don't seem to listen to advice until they are victim of the scam. When you are advising them, it will look as if you want to prevent them from becoming overnight millionaires.

Social media nowadays can only be observed without much attention or value. Anyone who can understand that this or that news is not valid and can determine where it comes from and for what purposes it is intended can be safe. But for beginners who are just trying to study crypto, in this case, it is better to completely refuse to visit such networks since they will certainly fall into the hands of scammers, tempted by the beautiful promised profits.

The more you indulge in making more profits, the closer you are to getting scammed. I have seen many cases and most of the people were on DeFi trying to find the next 100x or joining launchpads where these shitcoins are launched with 20x on the first trading day. Do not invest in these sort of stuff. I bet trading real coins is way better than that shit. Believe me.

Online is filled with scammers, not only on X, formally known as Twitter, but that is also why in Telegram you will be told admin will never DM you first, so that you will be guided when a scammer creates a fake account with admin details to DM you. Social media sites like X, formally known as Twitter or Facebook, allow scammers to reach out to people they can scam. Some project teams have the intent of saying that the formal CEO of Binance CZ tweets about their project, and they will run a Photoshop where the formal Binance CEO CZ tweets about them and uses it to make a post on their X account, formally known as Twitter, just to gain more followers and trust to scam people of their hard-earned money. Before believing anything on social media, try and carry out your research to know if the information someone passed to you is legit before you act on it.

One thing been said is, never trust the information giving to you on social media or just anywhere. The internet is still new in people’s minds and the scammer are trying more and more technics daily to help them attack people. One thing I will say is most people that fall to this scams aren’t just gullible alone but rather also greedy to rip out money and that’s where they fall victim. Cryptocurrency scam will definitely be around till any time but we can limit the rate at which we fall victim or allow our people to fall victim by making them understand that one’s an offer is juicy then it is not real
I agree that we should not trust information we find on social media or the internet. Scammers are always finding new ways to scam people so we need to be careful and not believe everything we see.
I also agree that people who get scammed are not just easily fooled but they are often too greedy. Scammers take advantage of people who want to make money quickly or want to become rich in a single night and this greed that makes them fall into the scammers traps. So we should always be careful about these kinds ko scammers.

To many schemes offered on social media and usually those scams offer a lot of profit return to their prospects. So its important for us to know that nothing like that exist especially they offer unrealistic gain for just doing nothing we should be suspicious all thing they have done especially if they don't have any clear source on how they can make the investment amount grow while the funds is in their possession.

Scams usually goes on social media so much better for investor that they should never look at that place if they are seeking for investment since for sure the one will come to them are those frauds and trying to lure them then they will end up getting scam just like what we usually see online.

But forums are different. The communication is a lot more bidirectional in comparison. So for example if someone starts a scam topic on this forum, there are countless members who would start warning about that scam even in the same topic.
What is better is the forum does not have an algorithm that determines how posts show up. A newbie and a legendary member posting would averagely have the same visibility, what would affect that is how much people interact with either posts to keep it at the first page of the board.

With other mainstream social platforms influencers get to a much larger audience due to their higher number of followers. If they are promoting a scam, a not so influential member does not have the reach to warn enough members about it.
Replies are even arranged based on interactions, so if you reply to a tweet warning that it is a scam, except others interact with it, it drops to the bottom of the page, or the poster just hides it, whichever happens first.

Telegram is way worse cause conversations happen in closed boxes and you cannot even prove it, cause screenshots can be faked easily.

Social media can't be full of nonsense things but yes, this is a medium for many scams and false information. This is why we don't just read and believe it but also we need to verify through searching from other sites. Before, social media platforms seemed to be great tools for learning but now, it was breading tools for scammers as they know that they can easily fake information and ads.

This time, we need to be cautious especially when having online transactions as it was hard to trust strangers.
They are smart and keeping aware is the only way not to fall into the hands of scammers.

Full topic: Social media is a breeding ground for scamers, be intelligent while you explore the crypto market.

The social apps is unsafe to be a place where a newbie can get good knowledge about cryptocurrency. It is good to recommend people to learn from the Bitcoin talk communit or any other Bitcoin educational material that is legit.
When there's people, there are scammers lurking especially online.
Social media in general helped us in different ways. From spreading information, to advertise projects, to increase the adoption of cryptocurrency, etc. On the other hand, it's also the home of the scammers who are constantly looking for victims out there.

Right now, misinformation is at it's peak and at the same time, phishing attack has been very rampant especially on Twitter (X). Having knowledge, and being vigilant are the best things to do in order for us not to get scammed. I don't want to say this, but in my 5+ years of being involved in crypto, I never experienced getting scammed, and it's because I learned everything how scammers are scamming people first, and learned how to avoid it as well.

Overall, social media platforms can be used in either good or bad way, and for us investors who are into social media every day, let's be intelligent enough to avoid getting scammed. How? Learn, learn, and learn.: Smiley

There are different types of social media, forums like bitcointalk are also one of the types.

Basically any form of social media where the communication is mostly one sided (eg. twitter, telegram, instagram, etc.) becomes the perfect "breeding ground for scammers" because it is harder to debunk their advertisements. For example you can't go on a private telegram group and tell people they're running a scam because they will ban you.

But forums are different. The communication is a lot more bidirectional in comparison. So for example if someone starts a scam topic on this forum, there are countless members who would start warning about that scam even in the same topic.

So people have to learn who they trust and where they get their information from. Majority of social media platforms are only good for "cat pics" and must not be used for anything else.

As this forum is concerned, there are different good people who will never allow scammers  to mislead others, that is why wrong information are always filtered out here and users are immediately cautioned  when they drop wrong information.

Social media can be called a personal media center for people where they can share their various feelings and be aware of the things shared by others. Today's scammers are very active using this social media. Here various attractive advertisements are made and spread quickly among the common people. Newbies are falling prey to these scammers. Many have lost their wealth or suffered in other ways.

Forum can definitely be thought of as a filter. Because here no such scam methods will be established. In this plaform a user gives good advice on how to avoid such scam traps by keeping yourself up to date.

A newbie who may not be aware of the forum has no choice but to take awareness on his own. But those who join in this community will definitely be free from such scam traps.

Its has been a long since I visited any of the social media for any updates and this is because there are no updates there and I would rather look for information from discussions in forums such as here and get any updates that I need instead of going to social media where every jack and Harry is a reporter and filled with fake news.
We need to take the responsibility of getting the right news by ourselves and since scammers have flooded social media space,  it becomes highly important for us to make adequate efforts to get hold of the best and legit news only.

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
The moment they realize that it's possible to create that trust/cordiality, we toast!... It takes nothing from them to play along like the good guy, and at the end of the day, you keep refreshing the same page that caught your fancy, just to realize you've been logged off..

it's not even about HODLed coins alone - some even target social media accounts, casino accounts, personal infos for possible loan request - that you could stay without downloading an loan app/ requesting a bank loan and all you see is debits from your monthly stipends.... Don't forget to guide your wallets.

Fraud has always been in existence. Now it’s done on a larger scale, scammers now take advantage of social media to reach their targets. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and even Bitcointalk are used by scammers, the difference is Bitcointalk forum members are less gullible and aggressive towards scammers than other social platforms are.

That's right, not everything that you see on social media should be followed. Like just now, you see a lot of posts in social media that they're following the herd of those airdrops that are profitable. Many are misleading a lot of people that they should follow them for the others to have some profitable airdrops find out too. But little did they know, they're only there to attract more of the users to join their groups and shill more projects to them. No one is sure with any project that's being told on what they should follow, not just to invest but also too check out for airdrops. With that, everyone has to be careful on whom they follow and what groups they're joining. Sometimes, many of them are just hitting these projects with luck.
Because I was disappointed with the bounties I participated in at the start of my forum journey, I ignored the airdrop. It's up to how much someone can earn via airdrop, but I'll never be interested (especially those shared on social media).
While many have really made money on them but many of us do ignored them and we don't regret that.

Social media is a paradise for scammer, not only X (Twitter), Telegram is the same, even several Facebook groups are the same. So far, many people are aiming for easy money by scammed other people and don't care who the victim is, it's cruel, but that's the way the world is today. That's why we all need to be careful and don't be tempted by the lure of a few dollars from an airdrop. I know some airdrop are still profitable, but not all of them are the same.
Yeah, just count that all of them can be used to scamming and even the likes of Instagram and any messaging apps. Most of them are becoming the haven of scammers. And these scammers are targeting those people that are wanting to get into rich quick schemes. If they learn from their mistakes and experiences then they'll benefit. But if not and they keep on looking for those scam investments then someday they'll learn the most expensive lesson that they'll ever have.

Social media is a breeding ground for scammers because the anonymity on these online platforms allows scammers to hide their true identities which makes it easier for them to deceive unsuspecting users. The vast reach of social media provides scammers with a wide pool of potential victims. The fast pace nature of social media encourages quick & impulsive interactions which makes users more vulnerable to manipulation. A lack of stringent regulations & how easy it is to create fake profiles can facilitate fraudulent activities. To combat this it's crucial for you to stay vigilant, verify information & report suspicious accounts to ensure a safer online environment.

Yes, sometimes people are really skeptical of what strangers offering of sweet words and amount of money that's why it's easy to avoid them in the social media sites. Although there are still few who are greedy who will bite the bait. Next is the videos from youtube and other websites, then blogs. But most of the time came from ads, which sometimes is easily to get lured, search engine ads are the most common newbies getting fooled believing that it's the legit site which is not.

The kind of things I see on Twitter amazes me. Shockingly, people fall for it too. I always try my best to call out projects that I know are scams.
It has become so easy on Twitter recently because with a few bucks you can get verified and scam people. These days you can just see promoted tweets that are so obvious they're scams and I wonder why Twitter doesn't at least try to verify some of these things before allowing it.

There are different kinds of information on social media so because of what you take in. It's a good thing we have a forum like this that can debunk a lot of false news and fake stuff related to crypto.

Scammers target and deceive newbies on social media through the use of fake accounts, hacked verified accounts, fake airdrops and phishing links. Aside the above mentioned, most of the greedy influencers don't vet the projects the promote, newbies also fall prey to these fake projects because they are endorsed by an influencer. Social media are not entirely bad but the harm they do outweigh the good and newbies need to be extra careful.

Trust no body.  This is the safest way to go.

Had people not trusted any stranger, how many of them scammers would have success?  The most intelligent thing you can do is ask yourself why.  Why is there an Airdrop.  Why is a stranger giving away money.  Why do I have to put my Seed in there in order to double my Coins.

Either you do this or you will be fooled.

You may be putting the forum on a pedestal here.

Although it's not as bad as the heavily monetized social media platforms, this place is also filled with people trying to scam or take advantage off of people. As a community, we try to place cautions and correct misleading or wrong information but it's no way always done immediately and some are left alone. But tbf, there is no safe or almost safe public online community out there -- welcome to the internet amirite? lol.

Take social media as a tool for marketing,  and whatever is posted there, should be subject to personal analysis and forensic investigations before you take it as a fact, we are at an age where the internet seems highly unregulated most especially in developing countries around the world, this have given room to so many media platforms that give the people the right to say and put anything online for the world to see.

Because of this, scammers are also there on the internet and social media since getting through to them may be hard due to locations, so we need to guide ourselves to avoid getting overly carried with the information we get from the media because most reports are fake and lack ability,  since 2017 the altcoin market saw a surge and since then, there have been alot of Airdrop and projects whose team are all scammers, fake team that scam gullible investors, so be guided.
