It seems to me that the article's title is misleading. They think they can read any private communication that may pass through foreign services.

What they omitted to tell you and has been corroborated by the Snowden leaked documents, is the fact the government employs social media trolls who’s sole function is to change public opinion and discredit opponents.

People should not post information on the internet/social networking site if they do not wish other to see.
Trusting social networking site with your private information is borderline idiocy.

It isn't so much as trusting social networking sites with public information but rather your communications with others on the site are private information.
It should be, but it isn't. Even when you do not use social networks, they try to make you part of the mass surveillance programs in many ways. Phone recording, phone tracking, text message collection, backdoors on operating system level, state trojans, spyware in communication software etc..

I agree the UK is a safe place, but obviously, you're not reading the same newspaper as I do.

The UK official is not a lawyer. These days data is worth money and data can affect your live, the mass surveillance programs are completely against the interest of the people.
Sometimes people think they are having a private conversation on theses networks, and do not wish to share this information with anyone but the receiver.
Apparantly the MITM attack is legalized now.

I'll give it to you since you are correct it is the lowest reported crime rate in 33 years apparently
Not sure if its propaganda or the truth but I'll give it a point since I am not sure what the statistics sources were and what was included in the sample and not included in the data measurements. (Joke on them filtering social media to survey that their line is what shows

Camron needs his face smashing against a wall. Non of the people in power have any idea how to run a country, I'm supposed they can count, I'd rather the country be run by some stay at home doly mum off "benefits street" than the stuck up rich boys

The US is farther away from the UK in line with Europe but it wont be too much longer if these people get their way. Entitlement and power is the new order for the elites
