Hey, i was wondering if anyone knows any solid SocialFi metaverse tokens or coins with an active user base and preferably already playable metaverse platform?
The Sandbox ($SAND) and Decentraland ($MANA).
I once attended an AMA before on Decentraland.
It's free, you don't need their token to log in and explore around what looks like a building with meeting spaces (at least that's what it looks like to me).
Problem is, it's a crappy experience. Too much lag, even the ones who held the event has problems.
I've also heard quite a lot recently about The Sandbox. I even heard a popular rapper has a partnership with them (CMIIW).

Yeah, i've tried $SAND and $MANA, $SAND would be nice, but i want to play the full game, and $MANA was a laggy experience, unfortunately.

I'm trying to spot more of the unknown land of the SocialFi/metaverse projects, but thanks for the recommendations!  Grin

Decentraland, as I've watched some videos about it - is not that good gameplay wise Grin
Judging by this video, from a guy that loves and makes reviews about the games that are not very polished in the crypto space, it's indeed not that good.
Don't know what it would be from the investment perspective, though.

Hype has its down-sides.

There is a whole cult as it were of folk who are all about quantity over quality, and they are not always wrong.

Occasionally "if you get them to come then you can build it" does at least give an appearance of working.

In a way it seems a natural extrapolation from watching which aspects your users go for and putting more effort/resources into those aspects than into your own in-advance thoughts on where best to focus.

Startup culture certainly seems to agree with such approaches but of course startup culture, along with Venture Capital culture, is exactly where one gets the impression of cult as it were. Smiley

The kinds of things I am thinking of as down-sides might not seem downers at all to many or even most of you...

Take a look at the culture of DMD Diamond, I have been following them since before the fall of Cryptsy (a defunct "crypto exchange"), I even installed telegram for them which is probably a totally stupid thing to do since the damn thing isn't even open source at all let along free open source.

I haven't been firing up discord and [uh I forget the other one] so not even sure anymore whether their mirror bot still mirrors the chats across the supposedy popular chat platforms anymore but likely you don't have to resort to using telegram just to get onto the DMD project chat to observe the culture I am referring to.

Free Open Source culture, basically?

If you are of the other cult, referred to first in this post, then likely you'll also (or instead, ha ha) characterise this other flavour of culture as an as it were cult.

So hey, for completeness how about we characterise not of either cult as being the cult of mainstream? Cheesy

Are you able to conceive milieus where "oh gosh I hope the mainstream and likely even the cult of startup/VC culture does not catch on that we have so many millions of users" is the norm rather than (as, likely, within the other cults) seeming somehow "weird" or "counterproductive"?

Think more deeply upon it though and maybe you can even conceive cases where VC culture (though maybe not necessarily startup culture) might agree on that point: cases, for example, where copycats could potentially be detrimental to the project's goals and thus, if there is somehow already VC involvement, detrimental to VC goals.

Free Open Source culture, of course, does not always hold to a "build it and they will come" narrative; often it is more along the lines of "build it and we can use it, who cares whether anyone else ever uses it?"

Bitcoin was like that, wasn't it?

Did we really care back then whether others used it, compared to simply having it so we could use it because we anticipated all kinds of problems ahead if we stuck to the old ways of doing such things?

AntisocialFi? Cheesy

In the spirit of the above should I even provide a link, for fear the other cults might follow it?

I shudder to think of sending more mainstream, let alone startup/VC culture, types to the DMD channels for the moderators there to have to deal with, so I guess having put them at that risk I ought in fairness to take the same risk myself so here you go, a link: https://MakeMoney.Knotwork.com/

So you're saying even if the project has solid fundamentals down they're no good for long term?
Fundamental become the main role for the project in long term but so many projects have good fundamental valued not more than meme tokens and why? it's caused by these kind of projects didn't get the hype.
People wanna buy a token or coin based on the hype. they are also making money from the hype. A solid project without good fundamental can become a stable project in long term without any growth that would happen.
So many projects are always getting stuck at the same place without a good progress and hype.
A meme token like shiba inu can become major crypto in a short time due to the hype. This is enough to prove it.

Hey, i was wondering if anyone knows any solid SocialFi metaverse tokens or coins with an active user base and preferably already playable metaverse platform?
You can try to play sandbox, decentraland or Vulcan forged. I'm actively playing sandbox and Vulcan forged at this moment. These metaverses are having active user base. I'm playing interactive and earning from these game. So far so good.
I'm curious to see the options currently to interact with metaverse tokens i see so many projects that have the metaverse platforms around the corner, but so far, i haven't met any that you could play on.
You can try to take a look at what I have mentioned above. They have active virtual world and so many people have been joining to play those platforms.

I tried to play vulcanverse but the game requires land to play, and renting or buying it costs:-\

No man, it doesn't require any money. What you need to do to choose dividing your earning with the land owner. You can get a few bucks easily everyday for free. There's no need to pay any money like another platform. You can pay or share your earning with the land owner. That's why this game is not need you to pay money.
You can ask admin on telegroup about this.

Ohh.. Thanks! I tried to play Vulcanverse but ended up login in and getting asked for land last time.  Grin

I'll have a deeper look this time!  Cool
Maybe you need to follow this walkthrough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnusOKjuMRM

That's called cedalion. Once you have been registering on the website and you need to become a cedalion first to be able to play to game. There are two choice. You can rent land by paying PYR or sharing your reward from playing vulcanverse.
You need to try again and follow the step.

Good metaverse coin will be pump and dump coin, if you miss entry and exit time you will lose your money.
Pump and dump coins are a high-risk investment and are always the losing side because you can't tell when the dump will be and greed may take all the profits you make.
Most of the platforms listing those coins will be with low trading volumes, scam or control the volume of demand/supply, and you will be the loser in any case.
Avoid this scam investing.

So you're saying even if the project has solid fundamentals down they're no good for long term?
Basically, I mean technology is moving at an impressive speed, something that may seem revolutionary one day after some time it becomes quickly outdated and this is something that is going to happen to the majority of those metaverse coins, besides I doubt they will be able to present a decent end product which means their fundamentals are not that strong to begin with, so if you want to invest in those coins do so but remember to always be prepared to jump the ship if you see it is about to sink.

So you're saying even if the project has solid fundamentals down they're no good for long term?
If you google TOP 10 MarketCap CRYPTOCURRENCY, compare results today and see the search results during 2017 and 2019, and you will find that this list is completely different except for Bitcoin.

There are millions of ideas in the crypto world, and unfortunately all projects that present themselves as solutions to the problems of other projects or try to get some investments using phrases such as decentralized finance, meta, will not be able to hold on for long.

Therefore, unless it is a unique project, and different from the rest, it will only succeed in the short term.

Good point, i discovered that the hard way of hodling my coins to 0  Grin

But i'd like to think that $SAND will stay with us for years. Every major company is building around it.

Mostly not good for long term. I suggest to not expect much. I don't want to recommend one because most of my metaverse/NFT investment just made ROI and then it all went to rest. RIP. Some made profits but it's not that high.
So I made a new rule to myself that I should not invest midway, like when there are too many people already involved with it. It's best if it's in the starting point. Beta.
That way you could maximize the profits as long as you know what you are doing or jumping into.
