I've already got a @ 10A solar charge controller ( don't ask, it was cheap on eBay and works ) so...

Where can i get 6V @ Huh ma Solar Cells for BTC??
The 6V batteries I can get ( cheap/used from a motorcycle friend ) and currently mining away to get a Pi with BTC which leaves the solar cells ( rain enclosure, mounts, brackets, more wires, solder, connetion type stuff and more miners )

If the Alt coin comunity swapped to this kind of setup, we could bypass the ' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tO5sxLapAts underwear gnome " issue and just be 1) hook up miners 3) profit!!!!

admited bad posting of a youtube clip, but it's relavent  Cool

solar cells to charge controller to battery to mining system.

I've been trying to get ( free/cheap ) that kind of system for a while and find the ' best ' ( personal opinion here ) system is charge a battery and drain it at the same time so that there is power at night/cloudy days.  Batteries are marked with MaH ratings ( milliamp hours ) so it's a matter of what voltage batteries ( assumed 6V so when half charged, can still output 5V at a decent current to keep a Pi and USB powered.  The math for how many amp hours is where it gets funky to ensure you have enough solar cells for cloudy days ( winter for example ) and not toooo much power for the middle of summer.  Then again, in summer you can use the ' excess ' power for fans to keep it all cool.  Only real issue I've stumbled on is that the batteries I have access to ( or can afford ) have a life span of around 3 years before they go weird.  Crusty plates, cells that won't hold a charge, one battery even had 2 cells reverse polarity and could have blown up if I didn't notice how many amps the charger was drawing when I connected it.

Still.. As a proof of concept, I would say it's proof, now run with it!!

So that translates in how many bitcoins per day?

by my count, 14*2 Ghash/sec and based on one of my miner's 7 Ghash/sec at BTC Guild, ( my max per 24 hours hit 0.001 low was half that and has a few Erupters hashing too ) an estimated 0.004 per day, could up the ammount if they added a few more cells and set up a wireless repeater with OpenWRT on it to ' borrow ' net connections instead of the cost of cell phone time.

based on the current average of 600.00 USD/BTC that is $2.4 per day until the difficulty goes up AND the equipment does not have any reoccuring costs other than the cell phone.

Freaking good work, get some of the design files up on Github PLEASE!!!
 Grin

numbers used by me are from my own equipment with out hardware modifications, just the software hash increase by using BFGMiner's command for speed set to x0981 * stable 2 GHash/sec * BEFORE having to add resistors or change heat sinks.

We believe solar powered crypto currency mining can be anywhere, and everyone with a cellphone can mine bitcoins.
To prove such concept, we used a cellphone as the wireless connection point and start mining bitcoins far from our factory.

The cellphone connection speed is far beyond our expectation. 14 Antminer U1 miners mine around 22GH/s FREE of Wall Power using cellphone as wireless spot!
More importantly, it's a fully cloudy day.

OK, I'll show you the photos for what we did:
