Are we doing this deal?

Yes sorry, Im doing another for Otoh as well, Ill be home in a little to generate the address, sorry for the delay

Ok sounds good.

The other seller sent without escrow as he trusted my rep by now, so no need of an addie for that one, many thanks Yankee.

Hey Yankee I thought you were going to generate the address.  Otoh, you definitely have a trustworthy rep and I can also do sell without escrow in your case. Anyway, just let me know.  I'd like to complete the deal. Thanks.

Escrow addie to be posted here is good, the more public the better imo & easier for me to keep track of than PMs, many thanks.

Slight delay, I apologize, package didn't get delivered as expected. I will receive tomorrow and notify. Once escrow address is posted and funded I will send tracking info.  Thanks.

Otoh, Yankee, coin in hand, I'm ready to ship.

Yankee, can you post escrow address?  Thanks.

OK, Yankee will PM us an address for the 7 BTC escrow this weekend I expect.

Should I post it here or PM? Ive done it both ways for you in the past, let me know your preference.

FYI I just found out the coin didn't make shipping yesterday so I'll probably have it on Wednesday.

OK, let me know when you have it in hand wafdawg & I'll send the coins to Yankee's escrow, please post that here Yankee as it's easier to keep track of on the thread than in the PMs for me and the more public the better.

I will provide an update tomorrow.  I'm expecting it then.  Are we using the same address for escrow?

No, Im waiting for you guys to let me know if you want me to post it here or PM.

Also, details of the deal?

2011 Casascius Error Coin MS66 for 7 BTC to Otoh.  I'm ok with whichever way Otoh wants the escrow address posted.

Hey Charlie, the coin is scheduled for delivery to me on Wednesday, I'll ship same day when I receive and send tracking info. I let Otoh know already. Thanks.

6x 2011 error coins for 18.6 BTC . Information was sent to Otoh

PM sent to both with tracking info.  Here is a pic I took of the coin prior to sending it:

Beautiful, received, they actually tried to deliver it yesterday but I'd popped out, many thanks wafdawg! Leaving you positive trust feedback now, thanks too Yankee for acting as escrow on this.

Actually this one arrived on Saturday, I just picked it up at the P.O. today, it's the second MS-66 I've bought so I will leave feedback on the other one as well now, this one is: 1FNex8mX.

I got it confused with Yankee's MS-66 from the OP here: 1EU98a9M for which many thanks!

OK, as per my rules above, Steps 1 and 2 have been satisfied.

Step 3- This is the payment address: 1Cu2GH9sQmjUe8WNN3YSwhk2Rcmche3Kp1

https://blockchain.info/address/1Cu2GH9sQmjUe8WNN3YSwhk2Rcmche3Kp1

Once @Otoh sends 7 BTC to that address, @wafdawg is cleared to ship the package.

Thanks.

Due to holiday mail he isn't expecting it back from ANACS until Wednesday I think, I'm in no rush anyway, funds sent:

https://blockchain.info/tx/a98abc7afb0ff11dec7465108467c10240214addca4e1eadcca90737c7581854

btw, I'll pay 3 BTC for any of these error coins un-slabbed, if slabbed then it's higher and negotiable, I'd offer 4 BTC each for yours Burt as is.

Confirmed received

Step 3 has been satisfied, we now move on to Step 4

4- @wafdawg ships the package to you (I already know your shipping address) and sends us both the tracking number.

Please @wafdawg let us know when it is shipped

Cheers!

All paid signature campaigns should be banned.
I have a stack of these things (1 BTC brass with errors) that I got directly from the man on a whim when I first got into Bitcoin.  He used to tape them together with blue masking tape for shipping.  I have never untaped them and they have been just stitting there untouched since I got them so I expect they would be in pretty near "perfect" condition.  Is this what is selling for 7 BTC?  Wow.  I might have to think about this a bit.

Usually those coins sell for between 2.5-3 BTC depending on the condition.

You have the option of spending about $60 a coin and get them graded by ANACS. anacs.com

If you get a good grading, MS-66 is the highest known for this coin, you can get 6-7 BTC for it.
Hmmmm.  Very interesting.

Yep, I'm totally happy with the above, it's a MS-66 Casascius 2011 error coin, the same as you just sold to me and for the same price, 7 BTC, good faith all around and I don't see any problems, Friday being the 4th of July there may be some post delays but I'm in no hurry in any case.

Very well, I agree to Charlie doing escrow, selling the MS66 Casascius 2011 error coin to you Otah for 7 BTC. PM me your address. I see good faith here all around as well. Once I prepare the package I'll send both of you the tracking.

OK then, I have a niece and a nephew so not wishing to leave any chance of squabbles I will offer 7 BTC for it if your are prepared to send first and Yankee acting as escrow for the coins if he agrees to do this, I'll make a video clip of the package being cut open which will be along dotted lines that you mark on it and I'll show them intact before hand, away from the seal so if any problems that can be examined for arbitration.

Sure, I'd be glad to do escrow for free.

Full disclosure, I've done business with you and @wafdawg.

I've sold @wafdawg something, he paid me and I shipped to him

Let me know

Hey Charlie, I agree to the deal with you as escrow. If Otoh is in agreement then it's a done deal. I should have the coin by Friday from ANACS. Let me know how you want to proceed. I can send to you and can confirm the package's content or I can make a video packaging it and send. Just let me know. Thanks.

I think this is the best way forward:

1- @Otoh or yourself lays out the deal here, or in a new thread, confirming the sale price, the product and that you both agree to my escrow. Please be specific as possible in terms of the expectation of the product.

2- You both respond to the post confirming the deal terms are correct.

3- I will create a new cold storage account and paste the Bitcoin address in a post. I will also confirm that I agree to do escrow, that I will mediate if there are any disputes. I am also responsible for these BTC, so in the event I lose it, I will be responsible for it.

4- @wafdawg ships the package to you (I already know your shipping address) and sends us both the tracking number.

5- As soon as you receive the package, and the contents satisfy post #1, you alert me to release the funds to to @wafdawg

Thats it! Pretty simple. At no point will the coins be moved from the address.

I will not charge a fee, but either of you are free to tip me  Grin

That's a difficult one.  If Bitcoin were to reach $5000 in terms of USD, would someone be willing to pay $35,000 for it? Maybe yes, maybe no. As much as I like to calculate in BTC my mind still thinks in terms of USD ( I know its terrible) lol.

You'd be getting much more in dollar terms for 7 BTC than the other one sold for a couple of days ago, from under $600 to $655 atm, as you still think in USD terms, how about 6.40 BTC for it then  ;-)

Lol. Good one and I give you credit for that.  However, 7 BTC looks to be the new established floor. After all BTC price in USD is volatile.  Smiley

I still have my MS-66 one I'm open to offers  Cheesy

I'll offer 4.5 BTC for the MS-66.

Thanks for the offer!

I've been offered higher, as I understand there are not many MS-66 error coins, this is my only one.

How about 5.5 BTC for it then?

I'd consider something around 7/8

hmmm, OK then, I can do 7 at a pinch I suppose.

Sending you PM!

Did this really sell for 7 BTC? Wow!

It did !

Awesome! It just so happens I have one too! I'll be looking to sell it in the next couple of days.

Ask yourself:

What will be worth more in 10 years, the error coin or 7 btc ?

I still have my MS-66 one I'm open to offers  Cheesy

I'll offer 4.5 BTC for the MS-66.

Thanks for the offer!

I've been offered higher, as I understand there are not many MS-66 error coins, this is my only one.

How about 5.5 BTC for it then?

I'd consider something around 7/8

hmmm, OK then, I can do 7 at a pinch I suppose.

Sending you PM!

Best offer right now is 3 BTC I may take it unless I get a better one!
U sell that thing yet? Wait a minute. I need to analyze that coin. Can you be honest and tell me if there are significant differences between the graded ms66 coin and the ungraded one?

I have the opportunity to buy a ms66 brass s1 and a 10btc solid silver for a good deal. Which is enticing but I may pass on it if you can sell me yours for 3btc. Assuming it is in ms 66 condition.

Hey,

I sold it, sorry! Winning bid was 3.10 BTC shipped to UK.

I have one of these in circulated condition if anyone is interested.  I would part with it for less than 3 BTC...

I'd offer 2BTC for circulated condition.

I'll offer 2.5 BTC for it.

I wasn't so lucky with my grading, though I am delighted with the collection overall:

1 BTC 2011 Error

MS-58 x 2
MS-62 x 1
MS-63 x 23
MS-64 x 12

10 BTC one ounce silver with gold BTC

MS-63 x 1
MS-65 x 1 (hadn't been removed from original capsule I think)

Just as an example of how a quantity of coins that had been handled some turned out, bought at the London BTC conference of September 2012.

Well the Casascius market is kinda slow right now, but I would say 4BTC+

4 BTC for the 65 or 66?

My last MS-65 only fetched 3.4BTC @ auction.  MS-66 are harder to find though so a decent markup is expected.

damn it those look blurry. can you take a couple more with a focus on each coin?  it's blurry and grainy i can't really tell the difference.

is there a lot of patina on the ungraded one?

i'd buy the ungraded one but if i later get it graded and find out it is 65 or less i will be disappointed. Sad

Have you looked at the High Quality pics? http://imgur.com/dgWFoa8,99tRdpZ Click the pictures.

The smudge you see on the bottom on the picture is on the capsule itself, there was a sticker that I peeled off.

For reference, my other 2011 error coin from the same batch got MS-66 rating, the highest rating known for this coin. I've been offered 4 BTC for the MS-66 coin, this is an opportunity for someone to buy this, get it graded and flip it for almost a 1 BTC profit.

FYI one 2011 error did get a MS-67 and sold for 50BTC

Shit really? Damn...

Maybe I should just get this graded then, take my chances. I think I'd get an MS-66

Hard to say if the grader was in a good mood that day or what, but an MS-67 is really rare indeed!

Have you seen any Ms-66 error coins sell?

What do you think a fair price is for the MS66?  How much are MS65's going for?

Can you put this side-by-side to the graded MS66 one and take high res photos from various angles?  Just the front face.

Sure, here you go.

EDIT: SOLD

Hey all,

I was going to get this graded but I am willing to accept a reasonable offer. I'd like to send this in to ANACS by early next week so send me your offers quick!

For reference, my other 2011 error coin from the same batch got MS-66 rating, the highest rating known for this coin. I've been offered 4 BTC for the MS-66 coin, this is an opportunity for someone to buy this, get it graded and flip it for almost a 1 BTC profit.

-------

One of the original Series I Casascius coins, with the public key printed on the hologram.

The hologram in the background says ‘Casacius’ instead of ‘Casascius’ (missing ‘s’) so there is an error on these coins as well as them being very limited circulation from the first edition, hence making them rare and valuable.

These were rarely touched, as you see they are in the capsule. If you get them graded, you will get a high grading.

I will do free insured shipping with a tracking # worldwide
